  1. I seem to recall a rumour that your girl is something of a catch, regardless of any daftness she blurts out? My own lady managed this gem in La Margarita, when it was still in Commercial Rd next to the mayflower. Cocktails served, she turns to me all wide eyed innocence and says "do you want my cherry?" Cue cackling from assorted friends, I still get reminded about that. Bastards.
  2. whoosh. Ian Curtis had a hopeless singing voice, as indeed did Johnny Lydon, but it fitted with what they were doing at the time. Nobody else but them could have had the same impact, and I'm pretty sure they both supplied most/all of the lyrics for JD and the pistols. As for love will tear us apart, i have to say that was their attempt (and a successful one) at notching a chart hit. I defy anyone to listen to the last two tracks of Closer without feeling skewered through the intestines, that album is absolutely superb, and imho second only to NMTB.
  3. I'd pay her to sit on my face. And chalk up another vote for alan carr as possibly the most annoying prat on television.
  4. And at the top of the heap for shlt voice with fantastic music has to go to the great John Lydon.
  5. Its an opinion. Kevin Phillips was a defender as I recall it, a few players have switched positions successfully. And turks spelling has never been his strong suit, you know what he meant.
  6. I'm looking forward to that pint. I bet youre him.
  7. I worked around that way for six years. There are one or two areas to avoid (dont approach moss side without body armour) but in general, a great place. And contrary to opinion on this thread, I always found most mancs to be friendly and approachable, far more so than down here.
  8. Ian Curtis had a terrible singing voice, but Joy Division turned out some of the best music I've ever heard.
  9. Come off it mate, thats exactly where you do need one. Plus, Nigel got him on the bus as a pacey winger, imagine his reaction if he was suddenly told "ok, you cant hack it as a forward so we're going to try you out as a centreback...."....real confidence-booster, that... I'm a fan of Forte btw, and to those critics above, just think back to last seasons mk plastics game when at 2-0 down we looked like throwing the kitchen sink at them and still not scoring. Until Jonno Quick came on and promptly whacked in two, that is.
  10. Add me to the list. Signatures are a monumental pain, we can definitely do without them.
  11. Well, thats fair enough. What were they supposed to do? Phone out for a pizza?
  12. I wish I'd said that.

  21. Yeh, and the guy was only 44. Very sad indeed. I couldnt quite work out from the bbc article, did he have a heart attack near a fight and then injure his head falling down, or did he get in a fight with some other Wales fans and have a heart attack during it? They seem pretty sure there werent any England fans involved.
  22. Just as long as its not the old David Connolly one........
  23. Well, at least one of the Wales supporters found it exciting. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-wales-14815693 RIP.
