  1. I see your point and there were indeed many different factors that contributed to the disaster. However, the responsibility ultimately lies with the police because it was their job to control the crowd and they failed to do that.
  2. The police only let 1 ambulance into the ground when there were more waiting outside, and there were people whose lives could have been saved if they'd received medical attention.
  3. That bloke was hilarious. He was constantly clapping and doing a little dance, trying to get everyone to sing 'red army'. And he was on his feet a lot of the time even though he was near the front of the kingsland, must have been quite annoying for anyone sat near him.
  4. I can't believe that after 3 wins in a row I dared to express some optimism and belief in the new manager. I bet your delighted that I've been proved wrong now.
  5. My only concern is that we get some investment and survive as a club. I can honestly say I'll enjoy watching saints just as much regardless of which division we're playing in. I don't really like the idea of being owned by a billionaire arab who is only rich because he was born somewhere with a lot of oil, even if that did bring us success.
  6. That is awful, considering that 5 of the starting 11 have featured in the first team this season.
  7. I thought he was rubbish on tuesday. He's quick and looked dangerous going forward at times but he was always trying to beat the full-back and losing the ball rather than just getting a cross in. He was being played on the wrong side to be fair, I don't understand why Wotte didn't switch him with BWP.
  8. Are you taking the ****?
  9. That is pathetic, I think we must have really hurt his feelings last night.
  10. And fair play to the watford stewards for not telling us to sit down.
  11. Simple. Because the circumstances are slightly different and we have technically not broken the rules yet in terms of the FC going into administration. The football league should have thought about this before and closed the loophole but they didn't so we just got lucky.
  12. I was disappointed with him last night, he did nothing except for take 2 poor free-kicks. He just wanted to be the hero when it was obvious that JPS would have scored that last 1 with a koeman-esque flick over the wall.
  13. A haiku: It started badly Then got progressively worse Administration
  14. Does anyone know how many have been sold yet?
  15. Be fair on them, don't forget we were playing the mighty charlton athletic!
  16. Ok that's a fair point especially as the team didn't even try until the last few minutes. However due to the exceptional circumstances at the moment I felt that on saturday I was showing my support for the club as a whole, rather than the 11 players on the pitch and that's the main reason I felt annoyed with those leaving early. We need to show great support for the club for each remaining game even if/when we're 5-0 down at home to crystal palace. But fair enough, it's not for me to say when you should leave a game.
  17. Cor blimey! It's not as if they were physically assaulted or genuinely threatened, people were just chanting "******s" at them, as they do at the referee and opposition players most games. It's all just part of the friendly banter and, as they had given up on the team and were leaving with over 20 minutes left because it looked as though we were going to lose, they deserved everything they got. Of course they have every right to leave if they want but if they're going to they should expect to take some stick for it.
  18. Not necessarily but it will be very likely. The 10 points deduction is more of a concern at the moment.
  19. Presumably they hoped we could avoid the 10 points deduction and survive in the championship. Doesn't look very likely though.
  20. CB Fry I take your point but we're not talking about raising money to buy a player, we're talking about the possibility of selling some of the art if it meant saving the club. It's not as thought the art would no longer exist, it would just mean some of it no longer belonging to Southampton which, in my opinion, would be worth it if it meant still having a football club next season. It's academic really because there's no way it will happen.
  21. I would check with the ticket office that there will definitely be 400 available on the gate. I would very surprised if over 400 turn up without a ticket.
  22. Fair point. I would be interested to know how many people visit the art gallery each week. As it means so much to Alpine perhaps he can tell us, and also I'd be interested to hear about which paintings they have in there.
  23. Ok thanks for that smarty-pants. It's still a valid point though. The Saints mean a lot to the city, as you can see by the number of people in saints shirts out in town every matchday. Of all the people I know from southampton I've never heard any of them suggest going to look at the great works of art at the civic centre or wherever they keep them.
  24. I first moved to Southampton in 2004 and although I moved back to london a couple of years ago I have been back regularly since then. I have to say I didn't even know this art even existed. Ok so that is just me and is due to my own ignorance but I'm sure the same applies to many other people. What is the point in having all of this art especially if most of it is gathering dust in storage somewhere as may people claim.
  25. I was also confused by this. I thought Primus went back to Pompey a while ago.
