Time to Allow Standing in the Northam
londonsaint1604 replied to Legod Third Coming's topic in The Saints
So what you're saying is, we should ban people from using the steps as well because they are also dangerous? What about when a goal is scored, should we allow people to stand up and celebrate? Surely that is more dangerous than when people are simply standing up watching the game. I have never seen any problems caused by people standing up, it's really not that hard you know. -
Did saints fans used to sing that? I thought it was unique to notts county...
-
I'm fairly sure that football grounds weren't included in the smoking ban but the football league chose to impose its own ban on it anyway.
-
I'd nominate Alpine for his negative attitude ;-)
-
I'd nominate Alpine for his brutally honest assesments of everything that's wrong with the club.
-
It would be nice but I'm not made of money :-(

Whenever this gets mentioned I can't help but think of Andy Townsends Tactics Truck and it really winds me up. That man is a ****
-
I used to get away with it in the toilets with no problem but I got caught out in the cardiff game and was ejected! Fortunately the game finished 1-0 so it could have been worse but it seemed a bit petty to me. I've since stopped smoking so it's not a problem now.

Oh dear, you don't have a ****ing clue what you're talking about mate. There is absolutely nothing dangerous about it. How many injuries have there been in the past few years as a result of people standing up in the northam? The law is a complete joke. -
You leave him out of this! Anyway that's not strictly true, I would also exonerate JP and Wotte of any blame :smt049:smt049

Where have all the Happy-Clappies gone?

The final nail in the coffin of Southampton FC? -
I plan to knock on his door and run away.
-
Seriously though I'd blame the fair-weather, stay-away 'fans' who didn't want to know as soon as we started to struggle. They have been the real problem this season.
-
Supporting Manchester United or maybe Chelsea
-
I would blame the cruel hand of fate... 'The best-laid plans of mice and men go oft astray, and leave us naught but grief and pain for promised joy.' How can any one person be held accountable for the swipe of God's mighty hand? "There is special providence in the fall of the sparrow. If it be now, 'tis not to come; if it be not to come, it will be now; if it be not now, yet it will come. The readiness is all. Since no man of aught he leaves knows, what isn't to leave betimes? Let be."

Yeah alright smarty-pants! I couldnt give a **** mate. I was feeling positive because we'd won 3 games in a row, funny that! So now I'm thinking: 'last 6 games we've had 3 wins, 2 draws and 1 defeat, conceding 3 goals, that's quite good form.' All I can say now is that I hope we get the wins we need to stay in this division. Maybe we will, maybe won't but either way I'll be watching saints next season and I'll still be enjoying it. -
Funny you should ask because I had the same thoughts on saturday when I noticed how many stewards there were between the itchen and northam stands. I would guess it saves a few quid here and there but I can't see it making much difference.
-
What a strange question. I think I'll still enjoy going to the football as much as I do now, so I'll still be watching saints.
-
All this talk about fans parliament just reminds me of the dark days of ITV's premiership highlights programme. Remember Andy Townsend's Tactics Truck, what the f**k was that all about? The man is a ****
-
I reckon Poortvliet deserves a second chance.
-
You must be a right laugh at the footy. Surely the fact that people have stood in the northam end for the past 5 years without any problems suggests that the law is complete and utter ********. If you closed the northam then every match at st marys would be played in almost complete silence.
-
He should have got it on target at least and probably should have scored, but from reading some of the posts on here I was expecting to see him missing an open goal from 6 yards out with loads of time and space. Having just seen the highlights I think some people are being very harsh indeed.
-
I'm not really interested in his role as 'engineer of youth policy,' and all this 'Lowe's architect' ********. I was referring to his performance as manager, which has been good if you look at the results. You're quite right, he has had better players available to him (well 2), but his decision to play a 4-4-2 with Euell up front has made a difference as well. We can only speculate as to how JP would have done with the same players, so it's a pointless argument really, the fact that we got 3 great results in a row suggests Wotte is doing something right as manager. I'm bored of asking this question but what does their nationality have to do with anything?
-
I think the likelihood is that we'll both survive.
-
Eastleigh are doing well at least.
