  1. It's good advice, and I'm sure 100% of men would agree with the analogy. She wasn't best pleased, but as previously mentioned, its Saints vs Pompey. I'm there! She'll just have to deal with it
  2. Just told my missus what I'm upto on Valentines Day. She gave me the silent treatment, and wasn't too pleased when I then went on to tell her Valentines Day is a made up day. I'd usually feel a bit guilty, but I'm so excited about the game, I really don't!
  3. Ha! If this in on the 14th Feb, my missus is gonna absolutely love me! But I don't care! COYR!
  4. He's paid off all our debts - that's the distinction between ML and other foreign investors at other clubs. If he decides to leave - we've no debt whatsoever. Transfer fees etc have been paid out his own pocket thus far. Likes the rest of his businesses, we're debt free, and we'll be run on sound financial grounds. Sure, he's given Pardew an "enviable" war chest to play with, but it looks as though we have to offload players to ensure the wage bill isn't too high. I'm very encouraged by everything he's done so far, and i'm not in the least bit worried by it. He's the only foreign investor in the football league to be looking to buy us a new training complex. He's here for the long term people - no need to worry at all. COYR
  5. Same, just can't see it happening really, although he is the sort of player we could do with to beef up the squad
  6. I'd agree with that - although you did miss out 2 goal John Viafara
  7. Lucien Mettomo - Cameroon international who we signed briefly and don't think ever played. Was briefly at City. Think its a bit harsh putting him a "worst saints" team as he never actually played.
  8. 100% agreed. He was absolutely shocking. Bought purely because he did well for Burley 5 years previously.
  9. Draper?? As I recall - he was a decent signing and weighed in with some useful goals. Bargain at £1 million at the time as well. I don't see how any of the players that played for us in the Premiership could possibly be in a worst Saints team of the decade, bar perhaps Alan Blayney. They were all good enough to play in the Premiership! Most of the players should be from the past two years. And Wotton absolutely has to be in there.
  10. I suggest you get your coat, although you probably don't need one in Brizzie at the moment - you would here, weather's horrendous! But agreed - there are decent players to be had in most leagues around the world, but Saints wouldn't be able to get any in on loan during March.
  11. It would - but that's not relevant to the thread - we can buy or loan any players we want during the window, but can only loan domestic players outside the january window (up until the emergency loan deadline).
  12. You seem to be missing something here - rendering this thread completely pointless - the football league loan window is only open to DOMESTIC loans after the January transfer window shuts. You can't sign any players from abroad after the end of January. Sorry to spoil everyone's fun Merry Christmas! COYR!
  13. No way Pardew would be linked after all the hoo-ha with his departure from Reading.....
  14. Awesome - I love it how long it took to get this thread moved. I was hammered last night, but rightly so following our tonking of Tranmere
  15. I love beer, anyone else had a few following Saints vs Tranmere? Have I even spelled Tranmere right?
  16. I'm quite drunk, I really think that, although the song is awesome, it actually needs some more words. The last good player based chant for me was Brett Ormerod's. Hasn't been a good one since. Rubbish!
  17. Thank god we were already 3 up at the time - it was shocking! I think my dead Gran could have tucked that bad boy away!
  18. I see Antonio has no votes in our poll. lol He had his worst game for a long time today. Much better as an impact player from the bench in my opinion
  19. Southampton Best league game? - Saints 3 - 3 Newcastle - When Blaney made that point blank save from Shearer. Easily the game that sticks out as the most entertaining i've ever been to. Best cup game? Saints 4 - 0 Spurs. Sod off Hoddle Best goalkeeper? Niemi - hands down Best centre back? Michael Svennson Best full back? Wayne Bridge Best centre mid? Anders Svennson Best winger? Chris Marsden (ok, so he wasn't technically a winger - but our best left side of the team was bridgey and marsden - don't think anyone could argue!) Best striker? Pahars/Beattie - tough decision! Best youngster to come through? Easily Theo - would have been nice to have had more games with us though Best manager? Strachan Overall player of the decade? Niemi Favourite away game? Leicester 0-4 Saints Favourite home game? Saints 4-2 Fulham Best away fans to visit SMS? Man City fans - especially after introducing me to Sun Jihai's chant - lol Best home fans at a ground we've been to? n/a. lol Best Saints fans performance (home)? Saints vs Pompey - 3-0, Doddsy direct from the corner. Legend Best Saints fans performance (away)? FA cup final 2003 - will never forget that day Top thread!
  20. Madjeski's businesses did shockingly during the recession - and he's not exactly broke, but he's had planning approval for a project at station hill in Reading which will cost him an absolute bomb. Therefore - he's trying to sell the club and has seriously cut his cloth accordingly. But, the similarities between them this season and us last season are endless: * Replaced their decent strikers they sold with no-one * Youngster at the back on loan from Chelsea * Have loaned out experienced players to save money * Don't always seem to use the experienced players still at the club * Appoint a random youth manager with a poor past record * Rasiak. lol * Shi-ite at home, not too bad away the list goes on......
  21. Oh don't get me wrong, I definitely see your point of view. However, I'd still love a trip to one of the big boys and see our boys give them a run for their money - I'd far prefer that than a 2-0 win over Bradford, for example. Would be good to test ourselves against higher level opposition - we were close to beating Brum in the league cup this season, would love to see more of that.
  22. As long as we finish mid-table comfortably, then definitely the JPT - would love a day out to Wembley to see the boys in action! Plus, I've got a £20 bet on with my Arsenal supporting mate that Saints would win more silverware this season than them - the JPT is my only hope!
  23. Day out! We're not going to win the cup, lets enjoy it as much as possible!
  24. Agreed. It is a blow to lose Kelvin, but I do think Bart is a decent keeper.
  25. you having a laugh? How can they claim that 15 minutes after the game has finished? There'd be no chance to fully assess the injury surely?
