If you search for the Unreal 4 tech demo on Google or watch the E3 demo of Watch Dogs or Star Wars 1313 you'll see what the graphics are gonna be like on the PS4/720. Personally, I would be extremely surprised if both were released this year, Sony are apparently behind Microsoft in manufacturing/production terms. Alot of analysts have the PS4 pegged for Q1/Q2 2014 and the 720 pencilled in for Q3/Q4 2013. We won't have long to wait to find out anyway, as I expect a rough release date to be given if the PS4 is announced (as expected) at the 'Future of Playstation' event on February 20th. I heard the rumours that Sony would announce it before GDC but I didn't really believe them, I thought the rumours that they would announce it at an event 2/3 weeks before E3 was more feasible, but I was wrong. And I am very surprised that Sony are actually taking the initiative for once. As for the 720, apparently Microsoft is currently deciding whether to hold its own event to announce the console or wait until E3, the whole countdown clock on Major Nelson's blog would indicate to me that it'll be announced at E3 but an event 2/3 weeks before E3 wouldn't be entirely surprising, maybe they'll even announce it at GDC in March.

Who we've been linked with for January thread...

Can't see any other players coming in, I'm happy with Forren. -
Think we'll win 7-0

The Xbox 720 (Codename: Durango) is set to be announced at E3 2013 (in June 2013), one of their major bloggers even put a countdown clock on a recent post saying "It is on...' The PS4 (Codename: Orbis) is set to be announced at or just before E3 2013 (May/June 2013). The 720 is set for release in Autumn 2013 and the PS4 is set for release in March/April/May 2014. It is also worth noting that neither are likely to be called the '720' or 'PS4' Sony are reportedly dropping the Number from the new console and it'll just be called the Playstation (insert word here), the '720' is likely to just be called 'Xbox'

That article smells like more tabloid-BS to me. Luke's been tweeting alot since Adkins was sacked and he seems as up-beat as ever, posting pics of him on the plane with Puncheon etc. No sign of unrest to me, another silly tabloid article with no discernable quotes claiming something that most probably isn't true, and is just trying to unsettle Shaw. Since when was goal.com the source of great footballing knowledge/stories anyway?!

It must be true if Ian Abrahams said so (apparently West Ham are signing Rickie Lambert too?)

Sky Bet have suspended betting on Coutinho to Saints...

I'd take 3 draws in the next 3 games.

Everton are a very good side and I thought we'd lose the game on Monday before Adkins had been sacked. Now I'm not so sure how the players are going to react to Adkins going. On paper it doesn't change anything much just the thoughts in the players' minds. We may be able to get a draw which would be a fantastic result in my opinion against one of the best Everton teams of recent years, but I'm still predicting a tight Everton win unfortunately, hope I'm wrong though, would be great to draw/beat them!

I'll sing an alternative version: 'There's only one Mauricio Pochettino' -
Really can't see us getting anything out of this game, Everton are an amazing team. I'd be very happy with a draw, it's essentially a game in hand now as all our rivals have already played, we'll still be 15th whether we win, lose or draw this game (unless the 1,000,000/1 shot that we win by 3 goals or more comes off in which case we'll be upto 14th). I for one am going to stand up and applaud the new manager and players, I sit in the Itchen so a rendition of 'Mauricio Pochettinos Red and White Army' will be out of the question

Just totted up the available seats and it looks like there's still 2,939 tickets available for the game. So the attendance should be 28,804 which will be pretty decent for a Monday Night game I think, although would be great to see St. Mary's full. Reckon we'll sell another 1,000+ on walk-up?

This thread is disgusting, you sound just like the Chelsea bedwetters who booed Benitez before he even managed his first game in charge. The same bedwetters that were going 'can you believe the Chelsea fans, they're crazy, booing their manager before he's even managed his first game'. Adkins was a legend, and the best Saints manager I can remember. But seriously, get over it you sad bunch of imbiciles.
-
I think we're just as likely to go down as before. We have the same group of players (+ Forren) as before, as long as the players work just as hard as before (can't see them not doing this personally), Pochettino doesn't do anything drastic like dropping Sir Rickie or playing a ridiculous formation then we should be just as unlikely/likely to stay up as before.

Welcome Mauricio to Southampton Football Club. There may be some tw^ts outside the ground protesting on Monday night because we had this legend of a manager for a couple of years that took us up a couple of times. Well, they can't get over the fact he's gone so will be singing 'One Nigel Adkins' in a futile attempt to bring him back, or reach Cortese (who doesn't give a flying f**k about what the fans think), there may also be some of these 'rebels' inside the ground on Monday Night who will attempt to unsettle the players, and create what is called (In England) a 'Relegation atmosphere' in the ground. Unfortunately these 'rebels' are likely to outnumber the supporters attending Monday night that love Adkins, but have moved on. And will stand up and applaud you when welcomed onto the pitch, and get behind you 100%, win, lose or draw because we love our football club more than any manager. Sincerely, BlakeySFC

The difference is Cortese has actually put money into the club (£30-£50million+) and Lowe hardly ever put anything into it. Cortese isn't afraid to spend £12million on a signing, Lowe wouldn't of dreamt of doing that. People comparing Cortese to Lowe need to get a grip on reality. One is Hitler, the other Josip Tito.

We wouldn't have a clue without Markus and Cortese. The untermensch that frequent this forum have short memories.

What our relegation rivals think about today >>
BlakeySFC replied to Glasgow_Saint's topic in The Saints
Hilarious responses all round, the players haven't changed, and as long as their work-rate doesn't change and Pochettio doesn't drop Sir Rickie then nothing much has changed really. Can't see how other managers are going to use this in their team talks either, when Reading/QPR/Villa/Newcastle are playing whoever are their respective managers really going to be saying 'Let's get 3 points today because Southampton sacked their manager' ? Rather than 'Let's get 3 points today because we need to push on and stay up' ? -
I won't be, I'll be down at St. Mary's cheering on the lads. Already decided I'm going to stand up and applaud Pochettino when he walks onto the pitch.
-
Absolutely baffling and shocking decision, but we've got to get behind the new manager now.
-
We're gonna look like the silly QPR and Chelsea fans. Get behind the new manager now, it's all we can do.
