Really I doubt that it is unlikely that a person n his position would do that but of course some people on here would like to believe it Any idea who alledgedly the player involved was
-
Why would he do that ?
-
I am not sure they would if the players keep making mistakes or missing chances At the end of the day it comes down to what the players do Doubt Ralph or Jones planned for Adams to miss numerous chances
-
City played pretty badly that night and we played better than usual so we deserved to win
-
and played pretty dreadfully as well
-
Of course I know all that but you have not answered my question In the past we regularly produced players from the Academy to play in the PL contribute to the success of the team and then in some cases move on for large transfer fees The ones you mentioned apart from JWP who started playing years ago have not contributed much to our PL team As Pilchards alludes to in an earlier post the lack of Academy players is causing us to buy sub PL standard players to fill up the squad making the team uncompetive. You may well be right that there are young players who are going to make it but I have heard it all before and they may not Our club was well known for producing PL players which made us relatively successful keeping us in the top flight for such a long time now it does not and is contributing to our decline and our eventual place in the Championship
-
Surely the title should have when instead of if
-
Very true - something that annoys me is that the Academy has not produced a regular PL for SFC for years in fact yesterday there was not even an academy player even on the bench So what is the point of the Academy
-
Sometimes Saints win because the ref makes the wrong decision that is football you have to live with it We squad is poor the manager is probably poor so relegation awaits

My daughters brother in law a Chelsea season ticket holder is pretty devastated about the injury Most Chelsea fans think Broja had a great future before the injury

and Denis Hollywood one of the hardest Saints players I ever saw Forgotten Heroes - Denis Hollywood - Southampton News | The Ugly Inside (fansnetwork.co.uk)

Yes he is doing OK it was a shame that we did not hang on for a draw at Fulham like we did today and against both Palace and City Not only for the extra point but also for the confidence we could have brought into the Forest game Things are looking up with new players to come into the team the future looks brighter than it did in 2022
-
Looking at the players playing today and on the bench just shows how ineffective our Academy has now become which I believe maybe one of the reasons why we are in the relegation zone PS I am not Jones IN or OUT he is doing OK and it is a shame we did not hang on for a draw at Fulham as I thought his tactics there were spot on
-
Yes I agree but do not feel confident as I have seen Saints so many times be woeful after playing really well in their previous game. I am not underating Saints performance at all but my friend a City Fan sent me a text Only one team in it! but we were shocking well done
-
But Everton have better players than us Pickford Gray Gordon and Coady would significantly enhance our team
-
I do not for one minute think Jones was a good appointment but do you really think any manager would get much out of our squad which with injuries is now worse than the one Ralf struggled with. I doubt that the squad will be much better with new players for a few weeks as well it takes time to integrate into a new team which is struggling Most clubs bottom of the PL at this time of the year get relegated just accept it like the UK SFC has not had enough investment so is bound to be struggling
-
I first saw Tommy Smith play at West Ham in the 1960s he wore number 10 but was a CB
-
Perhaps he just be a manager for cup games
-
Yes Dyche the bloke who took a better squad than ours down last year where most teams are better than last year not us of course Bournemouth have new owners I doubt they are not going to improve the squad in the next few weeks

Rate Saints business in the Summer 2022 Transfer Window
John B replied to Barsiem's topic in The Saints
Anybody like to comment why they thought it was a great window -
Do you not think it is the players who are responsible for our demise I should think that NJ agrees with me they are a useless rabble I doubt he planned for no shots on target It does not matter who is the manager this squad is on the way down
-
According to the BBC Southampton are close to agreeing a £7.5m deal for Dinamo Zagreb and Croatia midfielder Mislav Orsic, 30. (Sun) Southampton are also set to make a move for Racing Club's Argentine midfielder Carlos Alcaraz, 20, in an attempt to bolster their Premier League survival hopes this season. (Telegraph - subscription required) Which in the circumstances is encouraging
-
I do not disagree with what you are saying but we are on a continual downward spiral and eventually will be relegated without significant investment I just feel we need to regroup and develop some of our younger players Most relegated teams do well in the Championship
-
So you reckon it is nothing to do with the lack of investment from Gao regime over the last few years and the Academy not producing any worth while PL players then? It always seems to be the manager fault despite players missing goal scoring chances and defenders and goal keeper making unforced errors. We just do not seem to have enough quality PL players so lets sack the manager and get in someone with little topclass experienceto play a system which has not proved to be successful before This at the moment does not seems not be a very good strategy. Over the last few years we have lost Forster Bertrand Romeu Ings Redmond Stephens PEH Cedric Bednerak Vestegard and loads of Academy players. With their replacements apart from KWP who have proved to be not much better and to continue to make errors whilst other clubs like Brighton Crystal Palace and Brentford have become recruited better players We seem now to be in a group with Nottm Forest Bournemouth Wolves Leeds Everton and possibly West Ham fighting for survival. Wolves seem to be addressing their problems and I expect the other three will do so with more investment and experienced managers like Aston Villa have done As a club we seem to be at our best when we have a number of home produced players in the squad and playing a full part but not these days
-
I dont see many games these days but we played well against Man U at home and were unlucky to lose as my Man U friend said.
