  1. This team is probably worse than last season when we had Romeu Borja Forster and Tino available Although Ralph will probably go soon the attacking players he has at his disposal are pretty dire overall
  2. Not a very persuave comment when clearly missed oppurtunities in scoring goals puts a lot ofstress on young defenders
  3. We want some decent players not a dead beat manager like Smith who was sacked by Villa A striker who could score goals for instance would be a start
  4. Very Good post but I would like to change you first sentence slightly If we signed that striker in the summer, that was probably going to be a pretty straight forward second half. Adams once again shows he cannot be relied on, the sad thing is that no one else can be relied on either to be clinical - we've got ourselves in a right old mess in attack, the worst we've been since I started watching SFC in 1962
  5. Yes I agree it is our transfer policy is the root cause of the problem Without buying experienced players we are going to struggle and our young players are not going to develop but they may do so if we were in the Championship Tella seems to be doing well at Posters are saying Everton Villa and Wolves are winnable games but they are not because at the moment their players are better than ours Getting rid of Ralph maybe the solution but I cannot see how getting in a new manager will make Adams and Armstrong score more goals or the Goalkeeper make more saves but without loads of money to buy experienced players we are going to struggle whoever the manager is
  6. I must admit I do not see what that will achieve we have tried numerous players but they are not very good not good enough to perform in the PL consistently Apart from KWP we have not recruited a really good PL player for ages I just do not think recruiting young players was ever a going to succeed We got a couple in last season Tino and Broja and that worked OK for a bit but we surely need experienced players and none of them want to come to SFC We could get in a new manager but realistically I cannot not see our forward players scoring many goals as fundamentaly we do not have many outstanding players and one that we have is not scoring any goals

    Cost of Living

In my lifetime we have had five Labour Prime Ministers Atlee Wilson Calaghan Blair and Brown I am happy in what they achieved The NHS. Social security. The welfare state. Council housing. Modern higher education. The Open University. Decriminalising homosexuality. Outlawing racial discrimination. Introducing equal pay. The National Minimum Wage. Sure Start. The Good Friday Agreement. Civil Partnerships. The Equality Act. The Human Rights Act. The world’s first Climate Change Act.

    Cost of Living

'Truss criticised for wrongly saying no household will pay more than £2,500 under energy price guarantee' This is so dangerous, my pensioner friend who is usually is really on the balll with financial matters, etc, stated this as fact, that you can basically use as much as you like and will pay no more than 2500(still a huge amount), but its is of course wrong.

    Cost of Living

If I wanted to get a mortgage loan I would have to show how I was going to pay it back they would not give me the money without that proof. So how does Truss expect to get billions of money with showing how it is going to be paid back?

    Cost of Living

Most of the problems in the 1970s were due to the Barber Boom which Labour inherited from Ted Heath's Govt and poor productivity that is why we joined the EC Leaving the EU where we had such a good deal is economic recklessness and this recklessness continues today where by 1triilion pounds of pension money could have disappeared yesterday without intervention of the BOE I realise why lots of people wanted to leave the EU but it really was just an econmic community run by intelligent realistic and mostly trustworthy people compared with spivs and liars who run our country. To say the current turmoil with the economy is nothing to do with Truss's budget is completely wrong and verges on the criminial

    Che Adams

But no doubt it was Ralph's fault

    Claude Puel

    Puel had better players
  13. Just bought a ticket for Thursday Hope I see some cricket as Kent Currently 34 for 5 approaching Lunch
  14. I do not disagree with what you are saying but other teams have also squads of talent with more experience and with some outstanding players I just do not think our squad at the moment is going to consistently perform well it may well do if they stay togeter next season it is going to take time
  15. It is particularly difficult for his tactics to work if his players are not good enough our strikers and attacking midfielders are pretty poor are they not It is hardly surprising we are getting poor results We are in the PL for goodness sake but A ARmstrong Djeneppo Adams Elynoussi as well as Mara Diallio Airibo are hardly top class PL performers at present compared with Maupay who scored for Everton yesterday Neal Maupay - Wikipedia Other teams have better and more exerienced players and SFC is finding it hard to compete
  16. My original post nearly five years ago Personally I don't think it will happen but who knows Portsmouth may get promoted but at the moment despite the team not gelling I don't think Saints will get relegated. I think we have no really outstanding players who can turn a game most are pretty good but not excellent also we do seem to blame Forster a lot but not defenders who continually foul in dangerous positions. now Personally I am not sure it will happen but who knows Portsmouth may get promoted but at the moment despite the team not gelling I am not Saints will get relegated despite not being able to decide what other teams may get relegated. I think we have no really outstanding players who can turn a game most are pretty good but not excellent and are young and in experienced also we do seem to blame Ralph when the players do not perform consistently well
  17. But it is getting closer and no doubt one day it will happen
  18. The answer is if you are playing in the PL you get in PL players not youngsters with little or no top class experience and expect them to perform. The squad as everybody is commenting is poor compared with others in the recent past whereas other teams are improving We were poor last season and have lost Tino Broja Redmond and Romeu who were possibly four of the better players but have got better options now at CB. We are unfortunate with Lavia Our attacking quartet is now dire the worst in my opinion we have ever had in the top division since 1966 so the outlook looks pretty bleak and recruiting decent reinforcements looks very difficult So lets hope however that the youngsters gel and perform well but constantly slagging off players and the manager does not help as they all probably know their short comings. In isolation a 1 0 loss at Aston Villa is not that bad a result but having no meaning ful shots on goal is Hampshire CCC which has invested in top class players and has a top class attack hopefully can win the championship for the first time since 1973 and Saints will not go down in 2023 like they did in 1974
  19. Bowlers usually win County Championships
  20. What is the situation with Kyle Abbott'sand Ben Brown's injuries any one know
  21. In fact if I remember correctly we lost five of the last six days of that season to the rain
  22. I have been supporting the Saints for over 60 years but unlike you I do not whinge I just accept that the manager knows more than I do about what tactics he wants to use and what players are best suited to it.
  23. It baffles me that so called supporters continually undermine the manager who has a difficult job with so many young and inexperienced players and very little in the quality of attacking players. It is not as though we have standout attacking players sometimes they are OK sometimes they are not Whats more it is not an eleven aside game anymore as he has the manage the use of substitutes so that the team is able to function fully over the whole 90 mins. he no doubts know what players are fully fit and and can play the whole game and those that cannot
  24. I think if Man U had our attacking players I doubt they would be flying I think Man U have spent 150m or so on two attacking players recently whilst we spent about 10m on Airibo and Mara It is the quality of our attacking players that is holding us back
  25. I follow Reading a bit as my daughter's step daughter is a fan But nothing changes much with Shane Long in today's win v Stoke in this sentence from the match report Flint did make amends by nodding down a corner for Wilmot to turn home via a deflection off Yiadom, minutes after Shane Long wasted a great chance to double Reading's lead by firing Tom Holmes' cut-back over from six yards.
