  1. Yes I agree Crouch was always on about investment coming tomorrow or next week or next month or next year. The whole strategy after Lowe left was spend money to get promotion George Burley knows some good players and then someone will take us over no problem. Most Fans agreed because Lowe never injected money into the club and we are Southampton and we should be in the Premiership Although I tend to agree Dave Jones seems to either to be incompetant or nobody took any notice of him. It would be interesting to see any minutes of board meetings
  2. We may have had three managers but we also had injuries and pretty appalling performances by managers and players. In effect we really had two managers as Sturrock was only involved for two games.
  3. I take issue with that comment. Firstly injuries played a huge part in our downfall at the begginning of the season at one time we had Beattie Crouch Phillips Ormerod Svennson and others injured. That started us on our downfall followed by the inept decisions of Redknapp.
  4. Surman because I feel he is overated. Mills will soon take over his position so where will he play then?
  5. I think I said something similar
  6. In the years before Lowe arrived I assummed every season we would be relegated but after his arrival I did not. However our present problems have been caused completely by Wilde Hone and Crouch together with the masses who wanted Lowe out. I doubt if Lowe had been not been chucked out whether we would be in this position today. Lowe might not be well liked or in some cases hated but who could do a better job? It would of course be better if Lowe was not here because he divides the fan base .
  7. Well we playe Skacel and now he is injured apparently
  8. This my 47th season supporting the Saints. In that time the only consistent think has in general been their inconsistency. So I take the rough with the smooth . I think I have been lucky in watching them during the very good times it cannot be so good for youngsters who have only been supporting for a few years. It will get better one day
  9. Just because they are experienced does not mean they are better
  10. Crystal Palace have transfer-listed Paul Ifill and Carl Fletcher in a bid to raise funds to buy a striker. (Daily Mail) Could be Stern John
  11. If you mean by a Lowe Luvvie somebody with commonsense I would agree. Mr Lowe seems to be more in touch with reality than some posters from Continental Europe .
  12. Yes as usual I am in agreement with you. There do however seem to be a significant number of people who either do not understand the situation or do not want to understand the situation posting comments which bear no relation to the situation and expect someone to spend £20 million plus on a whim to help us out..
  13. I think buying Davies was probably a bad decision in the First Place as we had no money. It is very easy to post comments like this without any constructive alternative.
  14. Can somebody explain why £1.3 million was a poor deal. We only paid £1 million and he played a dozen or so games. Matthew Mills went for £300000 Did we rip off Boro
  15. Let me see we bought Davies for £1 million he played a few games we sell him for £1.3 million and he earns £500000 per year and that is incompetance. I wont comment on Surman as he is still here
  16. No Burley with of course Mr Wilde's help
  17. Did anybody see that game I think it was against Derby We were down to nine men must have been before substitutes with Cliff in goal. It was a great game I think we won 5 4 or 5 3
  18. When was the last time we signed a really good player . Niemmi? Crouch ? Svensson?
  19. I dont think he saw it like that. Just a mercenary footballer not in the top 20 CBs I have seen play for the club but the best player brought in since we were relegated.
  20. I was only trying to point out that the choice of the players was Burley's as a number had already played for him in the past. Given that the board had agreed to spend £7 to 8 Million I do not believe that Burley's choices were very good (apparently according to a friend he did the same at Ipswich) and that is the one of the major reasons we are in the position we find ourselves where nobody wants to buy these same players. Of course who ever agreed to their high wages was also culpable too. But if you spend £7-8 million you will have to pay high wages. Which I think is something Lowe did / does not want to do. I feel the problem lay in the choice of player fundamentally but you are of course right other people are culpable. However in the first regime after Lowe I never really understood who was running the club as Wilde Crouch Hone Delieu Hoos were all involved to some extent. But Burley in my Opinion wasted £7-8 Million
  21. I would agree that eventually things will get better but it may not happen for some time yet. Although we lost both games 2 1 I feel we did a lot better than many would have expected. It is important now to win games where we expect to win rather than draw or even lose like we did last season.
  22. Thats what I thought I had said I was just pointing out it was really Burley who brought these players into the Club
  23. So it will be Lowe's fault if we get relegated
  24. It was Burley really who brought in all the players not Wilde. He just agreed too high wages
  25. He was the only really decent player Burley brought in apart from John who came in as part of the Jones transfer package. He may have saved us from relegation but obviously we could not have really afforded him in January
