  1. no we want Barnsley to lose, they're away. I can see all these results going our way because anyone near the foot of the table is probably a crap side. If you're only getting a point a game there's probably a reason for it.
  2. Well Oliver is a derivation of Oliver Twist by Charles Dickens, one time Portsmouth resident and tax collector,Fagin is the character of course. Organises young chavs into a criminal band, Portsmouth was still the same then.
  3. to me he was reliable and above average. That to me means he was a great servant to the club.I question his lifestyle so to me he gets a little deduction for not achieving more on a global basis. A great footballer to me is someone like Beckham or Ronaldo or Kaka. From me "above average" is praise indeed.
  4. Then they kicked Wilde out and it went barmy.
  5. We will win matches when we start scoring. We're no worse than a lot of other showers of ****e, just that we can't score. If we could we'll hold our own. Whether it will be too little too late or not is hard to say.
  6. Won't be this year, I think Blackpool caught fire just the other day.
  7. I haven't looked into everybody's ST prices but I see that at £24 were among the moderate prices of the CCC. I mean Ipswich at £28,Forest at £30, QPR at £. If we charged Ipswich's price and pro-rata'd it onto ST we'd be about £1.5 million better off over the season. At £30 we'd be quids in. I hadn't realised that ticket prices in the CCC had escalated to this level. No wonder we're shîte and poor..
  8. Shearer's management career needs a bump start. Don't know why they don't let him be interim manager at Newcastle instead of Huyton and Calderwood.
  9. I think to coach any pro team you'd need at least UEFA A. Not the full pro licence but I don't think MLT has anything at all.
  10. He hasn't the qualifications, started them but couldn't be arsed to finish them because he didn't fancy the stress of management. http://www.4thegame.com/features/feature/195411/.html http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/football/teams/s/southampton/7206651.stm
  11. Stepney went down a bit late though. At first I thought Stokeser had scuffed his shot a bit,and then I thought "he ain't gonna get that" then the place erupted.
  12. dreamer. Le Tissier would do nothing. He doesn't have the skills or qualifications. He was an above average footballer who served the club well. It stops there.
  13. At this level the manager is peripheral if he is competent, that's all it takes, There is no major wheeling and dealing to be done, you buy what you can afford and that's not the cream of the crop. Bad managers have taken sides into the play-offs and got promotion.I mean take Pulis, a relative failure everywhere and suddenly he gets Stoke promoted. In the CCC the players are infinitely more important than the coach/manager. You score goals, you stop the others scoring, it's not rocket science in the CCC. Obtaining a combination of those 2 is oft more by luck than judgement. That's why so many sides come straight back down, the system doesn't work in the Premiership because of the vast superiority of the players in that League. They'll find ways to score no matter how good your defence is.
  14. No doubt caused by Pride and Prejudice rather than Sense and Sensibility. Anyway at least we're Far from the Madding Crowd.
  15. £28 for Ipswich, that's a joke. Same as them running for promotion. They've spent a lot of money and have nothing to show for it. Same as most teams in the CCC. Money isn't what you need, Swansea have shown that. What you need is a golden striker like Scotland. There's only 1 guaranteed formula to exit the CCC, hard case defense, really good striker that scores goals for fun and not money.
  16. No you can't, unless the fans are creditors (and you won't be) you have no say whatsoever in the matter. Fans might not go to games in the future but on the credit front you're done for.
  17. As far as I know once in company comes out of administration by way of a CVA debts don't get paid off any more.If they all take whatever is offered that's it, there isn't any more paying off, because the original entity is deceased and has been bought out by a new entity. I think the loan on the stadium would be ongoing but that's all. All the rest agree to take whatever is on offer and call it quits. What matters is how much the new entity is prepared to pay to old creditors, if the sum is acceptable to all because they believe it's the best they'll get that's it.
  18. Take your pick Wright Phillips or Euell. Although Euell is perceived as more of a midfielder nowadays. I think he was very lightly used by Burley last season. In fact you have to wonder exactly why Burley signed him at all.Only when Pearson got here did he seem to make a significant contribution.
  19. anyway we could get Sir Alex but until we get a striker who can strike it wouldn't make any difference. We've had shedloads of strikers in the recent past, they all have the same problem; They are mute, they can't score for toffee etc etc. We only scored 56 goals last season and we're on just 29 this season. I mean 56 goals when you employ 4 strikers at a combined weekly wage of nigh on 40K is a joke isn't it?
  20. No women on French subs. GI Jeanne hasn't made it here either.
  21. I hear not, but then you probably won't believe it will you.
  22. I think I have to re-iterate again here that it is highly unlikely that we've paid anywhere near 1 million £ to RCS as of this time. Morgan's agent said at the time of the transfer, again I don't know why, he just did ,that Arsenal are in some way involved in the affair. How and why I don't know. He said it that's all. Perhaps they loaned us the money,or that they have first refusal, I just don't know.
  23. The share price is of no importance because it oscillates between 15p and 18p of late. The time for selling bits and bobs of shares is long gone. At 15p you might just as well as hold on to whatever you have because the price won't rise unless there is a major shake-up.
  24. it says we can't score from easy chances. I am a firm believer that any footballer who is on a professional contract with a League side should be able to slot the ball into an open goal from 9 yards, which is what Lallana didn't do against Blackpool. Euell missed 2 easy goals on Saturday. Our whole season has been categorised by missing easy chances. that's nothing to do with the age or experience of the players or who's in the boardroom or on the manager's bench. It is basic football.I have seen kids on parks slot in some of the stuff we've put wide this season. To me it doesn't matter how we play, good bad or indifferent, we've been all of them this season, the common factor is that we can't do what football is about, stick the ball in the net.
  25. No they only have(or had) 1.57% most of them bought at 60p and +. Why??? who knows, cash rich company having a punt maybe. Ligertwood may be the reason but it sure made no sense to me.
