The January 2013 HCDAJFU thread...
Window Cleaner replied to Dibden Purlieu Saint's topic in The Saints
Swansea are looking another striker though, can't remember his name, another young Spaniard perhaps, sh*t hot apparently. Nope that's Arsenal, Swansea have enquired after Kenwyne Jones if you believe all you read. -
he said that Clyne was almost there on Tuesday, not risked perhaps. Don't think NA is particulary accurate when he ever speaks about injuries. Said we had "knocks" before another game as well but they'd probably play, then we had quite a few changes, Fulham perhaps or Stoke, can't remember. NB Stoke it was Gaston and Clyne.
-
Perhaps the management feel that selling them Lambert would help us to achieve that. A very Machiavellian approach I admit but I'm not sure that Machiavelli doesn't have his adepts on our "board". If they buy Lambert they might not buy someone better if you catch my drift..

Depends if Clyne and Gaston will be fit though. Think we sometimes understate injuries to our players.

Saints vs Chelsea Match & Reactions Thread

Far too much being made of this defeat, we couldn't afford to progress and Chelsea have the FA Cup as a prime objective. NA couldn't say we didn't want to win could he but I have no doubt that yesterday was not a priority for us unlerss of course Chelsea didn't turn up and made it easy for us. Couldn't play a reserve team because of the price, besides we haven't got one. Imagine if we'd put out the side that we did against Leeds, Southampton would have gone into meltdown when we lost. -
Here's a thought, perhaps he was just going home to Liverpool and thought he'd be a wag and spread a bit of BS. Scousers do that sometimes, it amuses them. Thursday after training, week-end off, sort of belated New Year with his family like. Then again he was on the bench yesterday so scrub the week-end off.

the response is pretty obvious, Pardew doesn't do the hiring and firing and he who does probably didn't travel with the Toon side. Perhaps there were facilities to be looked at or houses or something. There are tons of reasons why he wouldn't want to go to Brighton to see Pardew.

Question for someone like Bearsy or his ilk
Window Cleaner replied to Saint in Paradise's topic in The Muppet Show
Indeed it is, I think there are a lot of semi-frigid women in the UK. I really don't see that what happened in the OP would pose a problem for most women (not UK though). Most would just pile in or at least give you a hand -
Jos will need to have another good game at Villa. Still as they have Benteke and have re-activated Bent that might be just up his street.

well I don't know, depends on how the wife is about "home cooking" really. Some women take great pride in their "cooking" and don't like you having a "snack" between meals. I just know what my good lady would probably do, why? I couldn't say, perhaps the situation has already arisen at sometime in the past because I am distinctly mindful of one occasion when it well might have, although that was her fault in the first place, expecting too much too often.. -
video-conference from the comfort of his lounge for initial talks more than, likely, then again wouldn't Saints have had to agree to that already ? If he went there (which I sincerely doubt) then the processus must be advanced. Thought he was on the video footage in the build up interview though, could be wrong and that's done when? Thursday ? edit; Didn't realise that there are 3 flights a day Soton-Toon, do they fill up ?

Chelsea have depth, if one player is having an off'ish day they can pull him off and put on another mega-star. If Puncheon is not on song we put on De Ridder... not the same is it. We could only afford to win this game at the first try, when we went behind NA quite rightly let it go. I'd have thrown the game anyway...youth team -

some of them even before that. Need a clear out but doubt if we have the funds to refurbish the squad in sufficient numbers. Then again we've only 18 PL games left this season now so we might be able to have a bit of a prune. Look forward to some serious outgoings in the next 2 weeks or so. Something like 3 in 6 out. -

Most refs are lamp genies where penalty shouts for Utd, Citeh and Chelsea are concerned. You wish is my command Master sort of stuff. -

Might have been possible in our digital age but not in the mid 70's -

well most of them were pretty routine, cheating husbands, husband keen on swinging-wife not sort of stuff, over eager boyfriends, contraception advice etc, amazing the naivety of some of them . I don't remember all that well because it was a long time ago but there was definitely one from a lesbian twin who was all in a tizz because her twin sister lover had dumped her for a room-mate at Uni and she was asking for advice on whether it was best to top herself or kill her sister. Left that one well alone. Then again some of them were obviously wind ups as well. -

To be honest the FA Cup is a prime objective for Chelsea and not for us. Once we went behind just before half-time the game was up for us I feel. We turned up and were creditable for 45 minutes apparently, after that next Saturday was far more important. Chelsea will be looking at a League Cup, FA Cup, Europa League treble with a 3rd place in the PL probably fairly easily in their grasp. We even made it easier for them by holding Arsenal on Tuesday. -

don't know about Bear's ilk but I once wrote a few agony aunt replies for a well known ladies weekly in the 70's. Girl I was living with at the time had a part time job writing them for said magazine but as she had her Master's thesis to work on I wrote them for her for a couple of weeks, not all published of course but a couple were. Amazing the number of letters that Agony Aunt column got each day. -
There are a couple of cabbies who post here I think, perhaps they've heard the story on the cabby's grapevine as well.

trouble with th "ressies" or U21 development group is that we have far too many over-age players who aren't anywhere near good enough for the PL to give games to.

Benayoun is pushing 33 and couldn't get much of a look in at West Ham, not going to fetch 16p really. -
think he's probably on his way out, maybe better for him not to be cup tied.
