  1. Exactly, apart from 20/20 success which is all that seems to count at HCC just now this season has been a complete joke. We were already deducted 2 points in the T20 league for a bad pitch last season. We have no effective fast bowlers, just Briggs and Tahir so we try to arrange for them to take loads of wickets to cover for our embarrassing bowling. HCC has become a shambles and we can't even pay for the test match that we so desperatey wanted.
  2. no, too many attacking players and not enough quality at CB, we don't really need all of Lallana,Chamberlain,Lambert,Barnard, Holmes,Forte,Connolly,Guly,Doble and De Ridder ,10 players for 4 slots at best.Jaidi will be too slow and Seaborne will prove inadequate so we need to do something about that sharpish, hopefully with Jemal.
  3. it was perhaps a bargain but it's like buying a new car when they're on promotion or special offer, if you haven't got the cash spare then it won't do you any good.Yer average fan has splashed well over £600 for Saint's these last 6 weeks, he'll probably go on Wednesday as well but £16 today wasn't on for many.
  4. it was too expensive sandwiched between ST renewals, shirt purchase and the West Brom game in the week.If the club (and by that I mean NC) wanted fans to turn out in droves to honour Herr Liebherr then it was £10 and free for U12s that was needed.
  5. Must be Pardew's fault surely.
  6. Trouble with the Schlecks is that they're only capable of 1 big day per tour.Plus they're just climbers who can't roll in time trials. Evans strategy was always damage limitation on A Schleck's big day and as he (A Schleck) had a couple of off days in the Pyrenees all Evans had to do was stick in there and then whang them for 2 minutes + in a 42k time trial . For the Schlecks to have had a chance of winning the tour it was Franck who needed the big day on the Galibier but I guess he didn't have anything in the tank.Schlecks will be like Poulidor, eternal seconds.
  7. Maybe, but then if that worked everybody would do it wouldn't they. Why Ox could even do it. There is a precedent, Mexes got fed up with Auxerre messing him around and just transferred himself to the AS Rome, contract or no contract. At the end of the various court cases AS Rome had to pay Auxerre 8 million euros plus some sort of damages and compensation and Mexes was banned from playing for about 3 months.
  8. nope won't be an issue, he's been playing for Tunisia since early 2009, went to the WC with them as well. The issue will be money, the Verts were sniffing around him, Berne told them to wedge up a shedload or f**k off.As Sainté never have any money it ended there. Swiss chairmen eh!!!!!!!!!!
  9. Holmes looked very confortable with his right foot actually, looking at just the video of those 2 crosses you couldn't tell that it was his supposedly weaker foot. I guess the swiss defender (if informed at all ) expected Holmes to go inside as he's supposed to be a lefty.
  10. Newcastle might, they've rebuilt their side for not very much money (relatively) this summer and now that sick-note Ben Arfa has been carried off again they might be looking for a bit of creativity.
  11. now Frack Jank Courteous Pork..............that would be a name and a half, in fact I think I'll get my user name changed.
  12. see it's catching, should have looked it up I guess. Many games ??
  13. no doubt Chamberlain would consider himself by far superior to Cork, who never played in the EPL as far as I can recall. Then again Cork was sold to us at a knockdown price after a few years out on loan left right and centre. Any advice he may care to give would not have any impression on Ox.
  14. Well I hope both of his parents signed his contract when he first got it. Looks like the hot prospect Mbaye Niang is going to walk away from Caen for free because only his mum signed his employment contract when he was still a minor. Ox being a minor this would be a very similar situation.
  15. doesn't make much difference anyway, always injured or at the IPL or 1 day internationals. We need players who'll be available for 12 or so Championship games and a goodly number of limited overs games.
  16. they'll blame some 3rd party as likely as not, or the fans themselves for harceling them into a rapid send out when all was not checked and double checked.Temporary staff and outside contractors eh!!!!!! Now if they'd sold STs at a reasonable period,ie in April or May they wouldn't be trying to rush them out 2 weeks from the first game;
  17. what difference would that make? the club are not bound to accept it. If Ox wants to leave there is one simple solution, find a club willing to pay the ridiculous asking price for him in one instalment with no add ons (but no doubt with a sell on clause) or spread payments.
  18. Lallana wants to be 20 all the time, we know that,so you have to start there. I don't see it important at all but they've definitely been attributed in alphabetical order to players that might or might not be considered first choices.Apart from Lallana (swap 20 for 10) I'd say the "first team" now goes 1-11 and that we'll be getting a new CB very shortly.
  19. it's a simple matter of perspicacity, you obviously don't study strange photos and reams of print out for a living, looking for patterns or something that wasn't there last time you looked.
  20. I like swede but if a vegetable is dark green I am definitely not it's biggest fan. However I really really don't like eggs other than scrambled which I may or may not eat if there's absolutely nothing else. Now I remember Taunton's canteen on about my 3rd or 4th day there, hard-boiled egg on the menu with sloppy mash, told the old hag that I didn't eat either of those thing but she made me try, puked on the table and over a couple of my co-detainees,end of my school lunch experience, had sandwiches after that until I was allowed to cycle to my Gran's at lunchtime a couple of years later.
  21. did you not notice that after 20 the shirts are allocated in alphabetical order to senior players? Bart,Connolly,Dickson,Holmes,Seaborne:21,22,23,24,25
  22. perhaps the brothers aren't strong enough to dictate anything whatsoever.Plus it's known that they don't like to descend on wet roads,Frank moaning about Contador attacking on the descent yesterday is just sour grapes, when your opponent has a known weakness you exploit it.Didn't see the Schleck's hanging about waiting for Contador when his knee was troubling him.Rooting for Evans myself but we'll have to see if he can limit the damages on the Galibier.
  23. Adizero F50s then.Messi boots
  24. three monkeys then
