I've got flights booked but no tickets for games as yet....will be back for 4 games in total. Can't see any problems with Charlton or Orient but worried I can't get them for Brighton and that other small game we are playing on the 28th??? Can't believe I would ever see the day when I would be worried about trying to get 2 tickets to see Saints Vs Carslisle!
-
righto...tickets to UK are booked. Arrive 25th March and leave on the 10th April (got a later flight at 10:15pm so not so much of a rush after the Charlton game now). Just got to pray I can get 2 tickets for the final as it's a bl00dy long way to go to watch the final on TV! lol

will be booking flights back once this months credit card is finished (means I don't have to pay until April!). I can't find any decent flights from Brissie under $2k though. At the moment I am looking to book Emirates to go back to UK on the 26th and then fly back here on the 10th straight after the Charlton game (a bit tight as the flight from Heathrow is at 8.40pm. With a bit of luck I can get tickets for all 4 games I am there, including for Brighton away. I want to write a letter to the Box office - does anybody know if David Luker is the best man to contact or is there anybody else I can email that might be more sympathetic to my plea for 2 tickets to each game???
-
Just how optimistic should I be???? I'm in a dilemma now. Have booked 2 weeks off work and in the process of organising flights back for the JPT (pleeeease let me get 2 tickets!!!!)...but I can only afford to come back once this year. Would rather come back for a game that really means something like the playoff final (but if we don't get there then the Cup Final really will mean something!!)

is there any other kind of predictability? If it wasn't consistent or reliable it wouldn't be predictable would it?
-
The form book says we are going to lose......but I have a sneaky feeling that this is going to be the start of our great run and that we are going to win by at least a couple of goals.
-
Don't care whether we get to play Brum, or whether Brum get a bye.......but we should keep the gate receipts from the game and Pompey should be kicked out.
-
Do we know the ticketing arrangements yet? How many Saints will get in total and who is entitled to them (and how many individually can they buy). I have 95% convinced myself that I should chuck a few grand on the mortgage and get myself a flight back for this one, but I want to make sure I can get 2 reasonable tickets before I start booking flights for me and the missus!
-
I won't get back for that game but I'm hoping to get back once before the end of the season....but would love it to be for the playoff final, although I will be tempted by any other Wembley appearance. I'm so confused with all the potential at the moment! lol

Didn't Bobby Stokes have a season or so down the road?

Unfortunately, Soccermum, some people still think it's funny to be rude and obnoxious for the sake of it, whereas most people grew out of that phase soon after completing potty training. I think good wishes from anywhere are a reason to smile after the miserable time we have endured for the past 6 or 7 years! Smile and be happy people - there's enough sh1t in the world without resorting to needless insults and rudeness. Happy Clappy and proud!! (this year)

Apologies if I am just repeating anybody else, but I was hoping to read some constructive comments on here, but gave up reading after the 1st page. It seems that alot of saints fans have no sense of perspective. We suffered the same fate today as 8 other teams have done this season, against a team with the best home record in the whole league. This time last year we lost at home to Forest and at that point I was pretty sure we would be relegated. A couple of months later we went into admin and I thought we might not even be around this season. I've only been able to follow Saints online this season, but I have to say I have enjoyed pretty much everything since the Swindon game more than I have in years. I'd love to see a league table just based on results since then. I think that would give us a better idea of how we really are doing in this league. Give me another 4 months of the same and no matter where we finish I will be happy

7. Getting to a Cup Final! (even if it is only a southern area regional)

I could just have easily said Romsey Town (seeing as that's my old local non-league team) as Eastleigh.... I was just making the point that we need a local LEAGUE team to generate some decent rivalry. I'm not petty enough to wish any club actually goes out of existence. Besides can you imagine the pathetic chants at the games if all we can muster up is some stupid little ditty about a non-league team???
-
As much as I really REALLY dislike Pompey, who are we going to abuse if they go out of business? Fareham Town? H&W?? Eastleigh??? It just won't be the same without them. I really hope they survive....but I can live with them suffering the same fate as we did with a points deduction and a relegation or two

Just to add another contentious opinion in here.....if you had to pick one player you couldn't afford to be without against Leeds (and thus resting him from tonights game)....who would it be? My vote goes for Bart!! ....but there again I'm a gambling man so I would just pick our strongest available side (meaning 100% fit players so if anyone was carrying a knock I would rest them). With regards to the "amnesty" at the end of the month for players with 5 bookings....wouldn't it make more sense to have the amnesty based on how many games they had played, rather than a time frame? Maybe if a player gets to 20 games without a suspension they get a card "dropped off" the list and then for every 5 games they then lose another one.

Should Pardew rest players in JPT game ahead of Leeds?
AussieDog replied to trousers's topic in The Saints
Statistics are useless, but if you want to play that game, we have acquired 31 points in the past 15 games, and if we carry that ratio forward we will acquire another 51.5 (not quite sure how we get half a point, but that's another matter! lol) in the remaining games. Of course if you base it over the last 12 where we have got 29 points, then we will acquire another 58 points in the next 24 games, and we can all have a party for the last game of the season because we will already be in the playoffs with 83 points -
Andy Townsend in particular who was one who did heaps better once he left us, and I would think Tim Flowers and Rod Wallace are two others who would be more than happy with their post-Saints careers as well
-
Our good form away from home has to end sometime. I think it will be today. 2-0 defeat (and I'm normally a happy clappy fan too!)
-
I haven't seen him (TV highlights of Div1 are tough to get here in Aus!) but it sounds as if he is too quick - both of foot and of mind. Maybe either the other players need to trust in his pace and just play that ball a fraction of a second quicker, or AP needs to play him a little deeper so that we're not reliant on either our players being mentally quicker or the linesman being so mentally slow!
-
IF (and I stress IF, as it is still an unlikely scenario)) we got to the playoffs, I would fancy our chances against anybody - assuming Leeds are already promoted. So for a day out at Wembley, I would rather it be in the playoff finals than the JPT. I know we're not THAT good....but we are as good as any other side in this League (with the possible exception of Leeds...god how I hate saying that...) and we are developing a winning mentality, so why not! IF we set our sights on the JPT the season is effectively over in March. Besides, it's too bl00dy cold for me to come back then, I'd much rather book my flights for May! (still cold, but at least I can get plenty of golf in as well! )

Would love to see a copy of the original saints kit, along with some recognition of the 125 years, available as a leisure shirt (minus the advertising preferably - after all, they didn't have it back then! ). My own favourite Saints shirt was the one from the Keegan era, and I'd be happy to see something similar to that resurrected for our official 125th celebration playing strip

Tilson (their manager) -Saints contention for play offs
AussieDog replied to NickG's topic in The Saints
