  1. To me keeping in players who is under achieving ie Gully and keeping the same tactics week in week out has been our downfall. The diamond worked for a while then failed and kept failing but no change was made. Gully was useless for 6 games? in a row but he stayed in the starting 11, some games it was like we were playing with 10 men. Teams have now found out a way of defeating our strong midfield, by fielding 5 midfielder's against us i still don't see why we don't to the same and match them, a 451 formation can be turned into a 433 while on the attack. Our youngsters gave a good performance against Coventry, we could of used some of their young determination in december.
  2. He's not a skate get your facts right, he's originally from kingston, surrey. We have been reported to have already agreed a deal with him as soon as he's 17 but with bigger clubs knocking on his door with a contract we might lose him. Im sure he would have 1st team action for us next season or he can do a Walcott/oxo and be stuck in the reserves for 2 years doing nothing apart from the odd game now and again. I'll always say this, 1st team action improves your game not training with a bigger team playing a handfull of reserves games a season with only about 200 ppl watching.
  3. Davis Richardson Fonte/Martin Jos Harding De Ridder Cork Morgan Lallana Hoskins Connolly With Gully off form and still winter for me Hoskins could be someone who can help us, played well coming on against coventry, would be pretty tough on harding not to feature as well. NA needs to play a standard 442 not the diamond crap.
  4. Yes good result good for moral but please NA stop using this diamond formation for long periods, first 45 mins were not at all good, when we went to the standard 442 in the 2nd half we started to dominate.
  5. Darn i would of liked to of seen Shaw get a go, he's meant to be very good indeed.
  6. I don't think AL is out of form i think he's a marked man a bit like Bale was at Spurs most of last season which made him look like he wasn't playing as well. He has been given a new lease of life since been given a free role position a bit like Ball (i think) gave to MLT and his game improved so much. Allowing AL do also do this will help us as a team and maybe gain some confidence back in himself and since he can play on either wing and a central role it will suit him down to the ground. Yes we'll need to change the formation and yes maybe we will have to play with 5 midfielders, Barcalona play with 6 midfielders and no out right striker. Will it work? well who knows but as things go atm it's worth a try. As for tactics i think since we've been found out NA tactics have been shocking. Gully's performances have been so bad it's almost like we're playing with 10 men but NA does not see it, yes we're lacking in strikers but like what iv'e just said, try something new, AL could play off Lambert and try someone else down the left, maybe Holmes (yes he's not the best but it's something new) or Fox and try one of our many youngsters at left back if Harding isnt trusted enough. We do have options but NA does not like change or like to risk things. I say this saturday lets play the kids and then he can spot any which can fit into the team straight away.
  7. Still you don't put Forte on, DC could of played upfront on his own and put on Holmes which would of kept our flanks defended somewhat. Gully should of never started in the first place, he's been carried along for a long time now everyone else see's it but NA. We need to splash the cash and quickly.
  8. lol NA has no tactical sense. Player down you do not put an attacking player on u keep the midfield packed and have a upfront on his own and why oh why was forte even on the bench, he's ****e.
  9. Sordell (watford) and Butterfield (Barnsley) both young and scores goals and Butterfield can play anywhere in the midfield would be great and will give us plenty of new options.
  10. This is infact good news, for one it shows we need to sign players, two, AL needs to play more central he isnt a left midfielder we need to get him involved alot more and making him more central is a must (Bale has been giving the free role like MLT had and playing bloody well) and 3...new striker equals no Gully. Oh we really need to adapt and have more than 1 formation, i still like the 451 formation, played right its 424 while attacking but Adkins does not like change or do his homework.
  11. Forte + Dickson and Puncheon will leave i reckon. The end of the season will see a lot more go.
  12. Gully is not a wide player, id only play him wide if there was no one else he;s too lazy to be a wing midfielder. Id drop Gully for a sub role/reserve to lambo.
  13. Like i've said all along play morgan and cork together without the crap diamond and we'll be fine. Hammond has been our weakest link and now i hope NA see's it and keeps that partnership. De Ridder's pace is what we have missed, someone who gets the balls and runs at the defence. My only problem we have, as i see it, is Lallana, he really is not a proper left midfielder his best position is a free role behind the striker/s so he can pull defenders left and right and make runs through the centre. We need a formation to suit him in that position.
  14. Morgan has been one of out best players and one which wants the ball and tries his heart out to get a win and by all means he isn't a right sided midfielder but he has done a good job there. Yes he can not shoot but he's a defensive player, no-one has a go at cork for not scoring or his shooting attempts. I would drop Hammond, he is no captain at this level i'm afraid, Cork would be a better choice captain. Now ppl are saying we need chappers back, yes he brings something else to our midfield but we only played well when he was in the side due to the fact teams couldn't work out our formation, now they have i really don't think chappers will improve it atm, we need a more standard right/left midfielder who has pace and can take on defenders to place in crosses that's what we lack. Then go back to our central midfield rotation system. Oh and tell our players to shoot more instead to passing the ball inside the 18 yard or just outside only to lose the ball. Now its warmed up a little, we might see Gully have a good game this sat.
  15. Was a cold day of course he played like crap.
  16. Butterfield from Barnsley and Sharp would do imo. Butterfield can play left mid or attacking centre and put AL on the right or behind the strikers. Good options to have would cost around 4-5 million then can offload Forte + Dickson. If we do have all the money ppl think we have id go for 2 strikers since Guly simply can not play in the cold weather or away from home and that does not look good when our coldest months are to come. Lately we have missed so many chances in front of goal we need a good striker who can not just score goals but who can create goals as well and a goal scoring midfielder, if we had put even half of our chances away of late we'd still have a comfortable lead.
  17. Yes it was, he turned his back and stooped down allowing Ward to out jump and get the header on target.
  18. Gully was not even playing but i agree our midfield again were lost, apart from Cork who played well i thought, Hammond really needs to sort out his game. I still think AL would be alot better playing off the striker or just behind them like MLT used to do.
  19. Gully is **** away from home and lightweight he should have never been in the team for this.
  20. Depends what happens in the transfer window
  21. heard this about 2-3 weeks ago, good signing if true
  22. 2-0 lose, our away form is dreadful and they have seemed to have found some form and diamond formation wont work.
  23. lol not sure why ppl are having a pop at Morgan, it's Hammond who should be questioned, Morgan played bloody well yesterday on the right and when he went back to CM, yes he should of had a shot at goal but instead he passed BUT all our midfielder's do it. We are scared to shoot at distance probably been told to keep passing it by NA til we are in the 6 yard box but this aint working. Of all the games i've seen this season (home and away) Hammond has been very very poor apart from the first 2-3 matches at the start of the season. Even when Chappers is in the team we don't have any width but Chappers gives that little something else so we can get away with it but for how long is unclear. NA needs to work out different tactics for different teams and if we are either home or away, i've said this before we have been found out about this diamond formation and it just does not work all the time. SDR should be used as a forward if NA does not like him in midfield but what we lack in midfield is a pacey winger who can take on the full backs and place crosses in. Not one forward run yesterday from a midfielder beat a defender, they would rather pass the ball back and slow down the attack. We need to buy someone or NA needs to tell the currant midfielders to beat defenders and get crosses in, too many times we try and pass the ball once too many, yes it looks nice but id rather see many simple goals coming from crosses than 1 goal coming from 20 passes. Getting on subject, drop Hammond, make Cork captain play a simple 442 get in a good right sided player with pace and then use the rotation system in the CM like we used to.
  24. Why oh why do we have to try and pass the ball into the net, a few chances so far where the midfielder could of had a shot but passed instead then leads to nothing.
  25. Morgan is playing well so far finding some good space, fox really should of been on the end of Gullys cross, Bart is a worry atm but all good so far.
