League deduct 10 Points - Will apply in L1 Next Season

....and Lowe and Wilde should never allow their shadows to darken Southampton again...I would fear for their safety. Absolute incompetence of the highest order and Lowe particularly doesn't deserve to work again. -
League deduct 10 Points - Will apply in L1 Next Season

I find the decision to be disgraceful in the extreme. If they documented the rules and we've not broken the rules then there was no reason to deduct points. I am so glad Fry has decided to appeal - it's a terrible decision by the league and the timing is worse. The club will survive though - the support is too significant for it not to. -
I dropped mine full of char some months ago. Since then there's been a lot of 'tea leafs' about the place. Does that mean anything?

What a shower...picking over the bones of the carcus before the heart has stopped beating. Incredible. -

Excellent post Jonah...this sums up the situation nicely and supports the comments I made earlier about priorities. Further, Derry has made it clear that the intention is NOT to get involved in the bidding process. If these issues can be clarified and communicated effectively, I suspect there will be more support for the effort. If there is a sniff of ego boosting or power trip hunting from the usual suspects (e.g. NI) then forget it. -

Anyone moaning about the name just doesn't get it. The valid objection surely is that these groups are getting their focus ENTIRELY wrong at this point in time. IF they were truly engaged in trying to save the club rather than trying to set themselves up for a power trip, they would stop worrying about consitutions and similar nonsense and do something practical and worthwhile in a financial sense to keep the club afloat until the end of the season when the clubs fate will be known and hopefully a buyer makes a play. Lobby the Administrator to keep the process moving and healthy perhaps. This is what supporters groups should do. IF the club is NOT sold THEN expand the group to attempt to save it. In the meantime, let the process of selling the club be conducted by the people best placed to do just that. -

As I have said already, the sentiments are fine but why are all these people not doing something PRACTICAL NOW! There must be a huge number of initiatives that could raise money to fund us until a buyer is found. But no, these people insist on having a meeting to discuss a power trip. So they're effectively preparing their stall waiting for the worst case scenario to happen....i.e. pick-up the club on the ultra cheap to enable certain individuals their dream of owning the club. Wrong focus for these organisations IMO and many will see it that way too I believe. -

The way I see it, the focus of this lot is still entirely wrong. It's more likely to have a detrimental effect muddying the waters for the Administrator. And I do feel its more about certain individuals wanting to find an easy ride into some position of influence. I applaude the groups wanting to re-uniting under one banner (although calling it the Trust is a mistake), BUT to focus on buying the club is laughable - a joke. Put ALL your efforts into rallying the troops to buy tickets for the match Saturday and for Forest. Organise fund raising events - loads of ideas to go at - to save the club. Or is that too much like hard work? For crying out loud, leave the business end to the real businessmen with the money to sort out the club properly - you're not doing the club or yourselfs any favours IMO. -
MW was not expecting the half-time team talk to end with a smack in the mouth... OR, MW wiped McGoldricks 'appreciation' for a place on the team away from his lips...
-
Best not playing - groin surgery. But they've got some decent strikers that I wouldn't mind seeing in a Saints shirt. Err, just seen that Leon McK is out injured, so its gonna be Morrison and Eastwood then - Eastwood has not impressed this season. Striker: 9.Leon Best 10.Freddy Eastwood 14.Leon Mckenzie 19.Clinton Morrison 24.Robbie Simpson
-
The team have given up - they don't give a toss because many of them will be plying their extremely limited talents elsewhere next season. And for that reason this Sat. will see us lose 1-3 or 1-4.

Someone else who understands the issue here thank goodness. This is NOT about being impatient and wanting confidential info to be released. It is all about the QUALITY of the interested parties AND whether or not there any bids on the table. I suspect there are none at this point in time. And anyone with a serious interest and with the finance to back it up will surely make an offer based on a WORST CASE SCENARIO...i.e. a relegated team. The fact that Fry has not been able to update us since the initial "we've got 34" statement is a concern. We ARE the club - we are the future income generators for a potential owner. I cannot fathom why an update cannot be made available to the fanbase about progress without giving away ANY confidential information about the participants. That is, IF there are ANY credible participants in the arena.

Princess Anne OUT!!!

Ah - someone who gets it at last.

Morph thanks for this. However, when Duncan states today that his latest information is two weeks old, it makes me think any negotiations are at best stagnant. And he even mentions Longlifesaint and St.David being involved 'on the periphery'. That's frankly scary if they represent the standard of bidder. Not that I expect any info from anyone on here as such - just that there's no substantive update from Fry. Given the lack of news on progress I am starting to feel some doubt about the standing of the bidders and Mark Fry's ability to keep SFC intact at the end of the process. I really hope my gut instinct is wrong on this one.:smt086

I am starting to wonder whether there is absolutely naff all happening in terms of finding a new owner. Relegation is more certain than not and has been so for a little while now. If a potential new owner had serious intentions and the proven funds, the Administrator would be duty bound surely to take an offer NOW, before the club goes under. An offer would factor in almost certain relegation with the bonus of survival (however unlikely). I therefore do not buy the line that someone is waiting to see what division we're in before making a move - it doesn't seem to add up. If this is not the case, then why is Mark Fry not keeping the fans up to date with progress? Hate to even think it, but it's not looking too positive atall IMO. Can anyone (Morph et al) provide us with ANY glimmer of hope that negotiations are on the move and hopefully advanced?

What are Saints players current transfer values

Wotte he said.:smt086 -
Rupert Realises Relegation for the Really Redfaced Rebels that Respect his Righteous Rhetoric like a Royally Ripped Rectum, while Rudi Razzles as a Rebellious Retard, hand Raised in a Ripple of Remorse, while Rome Re-ignites. Is that it?

I hope they stay up - I was born in Brighton (nearly 50 years ago - gulp). Moved to Soton when I was 4, so been a Saint for as long as I remember, but I look out for their fortunes each week. They've actually had some good results this season, but if you think the CCC has some weird results, L1 tends to throw up even weirder ones. Unless you're Leicester and have a cracking manager, then you just expect to win most games. )-:

Amazingly, I find myself thinking that Prutton and J Wright would have been better players than the rubbish we've had to experience all season - e.g. in midfield...namely Wotton, Schneiderlin, Surman and McGoldrick. In L1 I would have Prutton back as one of the first names on the team sheet - he truly loved the club and had bags of passion...all the attributes everyone on here has been moaning about this season AND last! (Yes, I know McD is our so called top scorer, but thats because someone else is doing all the donkey work for him - he doesn't put in a full shift in attack and doesn't put in a full shift in midfield, so effectively we lose a player every game. In a 4-4-2 system McD would not get a game even in L1, but I suspect he will be our lone striker if Wotte has his way.)

While I understand your feelings and indeed feel largely the same way, I don't think the majority of the blame can be heaped on the players. For a start the Chairman appoints the manager and look at the dross the team have been presented with this season in JP and Wotte. So the Chairman takes a lot blame. And that's in the background of the team working hard to turn things around last season for a young up and coming English manager in Pearson. JP and Wotte have then decided to persist in a system of football that does not suit the squad - like processing a marshmellow through a cheese grater. In summary, the players are playing the system the manager instructs them to use, by a manager/coaching team installed by the Chairman. So it's not JUST the players. Indeed I would lay odds that a better manager would got more out of the squad.
-
Err, I think that's been the case for at least two seasons now.
-
Oh dear - look at the names being put forward...this is the bit that is so, so sickening. Saints fans placing the hopes of the future in players from the likes of Peterborough and Doncaster like they were the crown jewels. Stupert Lowe really has destroyed us... what a good job he has done too... we're on our knees. I am more of a mind to think about what must be achieved with what is here. Wotte and his 'team' must go....even Killer. The players I would try very hard to keep are as follows... Davis, Saga, Perry...possibly Size. That's it.
-
Now we can stop worrying about relegation (or indeed hoping for survival) because I think the clubs fate is sealed. Trouble is, I now fear strongly that potential serious investors will walk away - there is so little to invest in now. The club is a shell of its former self...when the players that walk go, who will be left? If Woggy was still here he might be in line for a game.
-
Well that's it - the team deserve to go down - the fans don't. But down we will go make no mistake - this squad and the managerial insistance on a stupid alien system of play week in week out regardless. Utter rubbish. Numb to it all....if the club folded it would allow me to move on...at the moment I feel trapped in a prison of despair. If any tosser comes on here and tries to claim Lowe did any good at this club, they should hang their heads in shame - he has killed the club.
