  1. Yes, that's how I see it too. Which means surely that if its THAT simple there must be some doubt over the process resolving itself anywhen soon. I don't think £4-6m in the scheme of things should be a massive hurdle IF the money is there. Something else is holding things up - not sure what - but to let it go to the wire like this does not sound too good.
  2. Exactly - I didn't see many of these players walk around with a bucket talking to the fans and trying to raise money. I suppose that would be a bit like begging to be paid, but there must have been something they could have contributed to - like serving lunches in the corporates.
  3. Fair play to the bloke. Great player once, but looked crocked when he played latterly. I don't think he'll be in any incoming regimes plans and I think he knows that, hence the comment about going home - he's made himself available. Good luck Killer.
  4. I'd heard they're a bit behind the times over there, but this week-old news takes the biscuit. But thanks anyway. No really...I needed to read that again.
  5. All of a sudden, our longer term injuries find a way back just as the season closes. Nothing like good timing to ensure you finish the season 'fit' and ready for a contract elsewhere eh? OL I might have a little sympathy for, but the other two I'm not so sure. I wonder what they did all week while it was going to rat-sh1t in the real world and they collected their wages? http://www.clubcall.com/southampton/triple-injury-boost-wotte-897209.html
  6. What a strange place to be....not wanting to spend my life browsing between here and the OS, yet too intrigued and excited about the prospect of a buyer taking the club forward. The latter seems almost too good to be true given previous years of speculation (not to mention the awful performances on the pitch). I am starting to bore of it all now though - no news, still no sign of ambition, sword of Damacles still hanging over the club and not even any decent rumours. Please Mr. Fry - we need something to cheer us up and soon!
  7. Frankly I am not too sure why anyone can get too heated over what is afterall a pretty 'out there' rumour. I would not be surprised to see Surman still in the squad come August TBH - with the biggest proviso being IF the club is still in existence then, because I am not too optomistic right now.
  8. I would simply not support that man in anything he did ever again. I do not support proven failures and Lowe has taken every opportunity to show his customers what a real failure he really is. He has ruined this club and thats putting it in its most simplest of terms. OK, so its unlikely, but if he turns up like a bad penny again I will not be hanging around.
  9. If we're talking articulate, passionate about football and ex-Saints related, what about Graham Le Saux? Did he ever do his badges etc?
  10. Mmm, its clear we're getting pretty close to the wire and there is a big cat'n'mouse game going on with the club and whoever is lined up as potential buyer(s). The Guernsey property developers would not have had their names released if they were in the running to buy the club (NDA's?), but it would serve a purpose to release their names IF you wanted to show intent to get on with the job in a dispassionate manner to sell assets. A wake-up call to say "its the 11th hour, let's get a move on". We're nearing the end...its frankly a very scary time, because we cannot be certain that any of the potential investors will actually make an offer. From where we are now I would say there is only a 50-50 chance at best that this will happen before meltdown. The only positive at this point in time is that Fry has not said Sundays game is off unless more money can be found to pay the players etc.
  11. Excellent post Sir. Anyone who has even half a brain should be able to tell the difference between a guy who had a few months in the Chair and hired one of the best English managerial prospects this club has seen since Lawrie and Lowe - a complete joke who managed to relegate the club twice thereby putting it into administration. I think someone must be on a wind-up.
  12. I honestly do not know what your problem is - Leon is just trying to do his bit to ensure we've got a club for next season - asking you was nothing personal. If its any consolation, I put £20 into Mark Dennis' bucket as I left the corporate box area Saturday (although admittedly he didn't ask me). Gotta say that guy was doing a great job to help us keep the club afloat. The £20 was money I had received from selling my ST because my wife and I were invited to a box. Personally I was glad to make a small contribution.
  13. Surely as fee paying customers we can vote with our wallets...no businessman (private or PLC) will ignore this - if they do its at their peril. Fundamentally, I would say you are more likely to get a private owner care more about the needs of the customer base (i.e. that means excitement in an entertainments business like football) than a PLC whose prime function is to serve its shareholders. Also, when it comes to needing more investment, it is far easier to attract a buyer to take the business to the next level, if there is not a massively fragmented shareholding. The evidence of both of these things have unfolded for SLH/SFC over the last ten years - surely you cannot refute THAT?!?
  14. Down Rover - chill. Not too long to wait now...
  15. Thank goodness you found that out...I don't know where we'd be without you - that's really exposed everything. LOL.
  16. The New Dell.
  17. I feel this could be the beginning of the end of SFC's demise. Happy days are here again. IMHO of course.
  18. Did Darren Anderton ever get involved in management? Just a question.
  19. On balance I think I would find something else to occupy my time, but it would be a difficult one.
  20. Well what kind of pathetic response is that? So you condone that sort of behaviour do you? I think you've just shown every reader of this forum exactly the type of person you are...pathetic.
  21. I had a grandstand view and it was a significant number of Saints 'fans' who charged towards the Burnley supporters that started the problems. If they had stayed away from the away supporters it would not have kicked off. The guy that was down on the ground had it coming to him as he tried to charge through the police line and was taken down by a policeman. I think the scenes were disgraceful frankly and sickening. But the worst for me was a middle aged woman who ran from the pitch, was allowed to run all the way up the Itchen stand to the barriers just in front the boxes and hit two other women who were in the box next to us. Yes, this woman had a Saints shirt on. She was shouting, swearing and complaining about the people in the boxes not paying for ST's, whereas all the 'proper' fans had paid for their tickets. I am afraid today that womans actions and the rest of the yobs on the pitch, left a very sour taste in my mouth...witnessing THAT was far worse than relegation to league one. Disgusting.
  22. Sorry but I have to state an emphatic "NO" to PLC status. Apart from disparate and fragmented views, this structure encourages fragmented shareholding and therefore disuades investment and/or purchase of the commodity. PLC status has almost killed this club alongside its architects idiotic and poor mismanagement. I truly hope this is not repeated at this football club ever again.
