  1. I do not believe Stanley is entirely wrong in his premise, just not entirely effective in communicating perhaps? There is no clear evidence either way whether administration would see the club die completely, although there is reasonable evidence to suggest there could be hope for survival and a better future. Especially if supporters rallied around per Sheffield Utd game last season. The one thing that is absolutely certain in my mind is that we will not gain new investment through a sale of the club all the while the corporate structure is one of a PLC. The major shareholders will not invest - why should they, when there's little chance of a return on their money and even pro-rata I doubt ALL the other 1,000's of shareholders would put money too? So, the only good thing about administration is that it would offer the opportunity for the club to rid itself of the PLC straight-jacket and potentially attract new investment. That investment might happen - it might not - and high risk is clearly involved. Even if Lowe somehow manages to raise the cash to buy the club and has the dogged determination to hold on post admin, the end of the PLC would help us move on IMO. However I cannot believe there will not be other suitors.
  2. Yes, I found the similarities alarming too...so many in fact that I would suggest its an unbridled PR exercise. I am sure the MODs can determine the veracity of the poster?
  3. I have a initial healthy scepticism of these types of organisation to be honest. They tend to be overly political in nature and highly unfocused in strategy. They seem to serve best the people that form them, rather than their 'membership'. If the Trust had a simple, focused agenda that they followed through to the end with strong broad-view leadership, it might have succeeded in recruiting more to its ranks rather then alienating its founding membership. What did happen was that once Lowe had been ousted Wilde cuddled them and the whole meaning of the Trust went limp and soft. Its now a busted flush and I can see no reason for throwing 'good money after bad'. New direction is needed - if there was a fans group with the sole aim of finding a buyer and getting the club delisted...now that might be something to rally behind?
  4. Well, if it was left to the current Board of Directors he would not be offered a dry bread roll!
  5. Hello Mr Wilde - Saints fan here. Take your PR idea and stick it where the sun don't shine. When you start doing something positive about the 1st team results (because THAT's all that matters to most supporters) or perhaps invest some money into the club, then you'll find that all those nasty discontented supporters will stop taking a pop at you. Better still, sell the club and f*ck off forever. Bye.
  6. I would suspect a 1-1 draw, but we so much need a win. MUST start with the same team and Saga/Euell in a 4-4-2 or 4-1-2-1-2 formation depending on Cardiffs wing play. Wotte has found a winning formula from a desperately lacking squad - if he changes it, he really does not deserve any further support IMO. If the lads can cut open their defence early we will have a chance.
  7. This has to be a wind-up surely?! I have a simple message to Wilde:- Run the club well so that we win games at home and avoid relegation. Ensure whoever is in the 'managers' position does a good job with the players. Attempt to get investment into the club, preferably by selling it so that you and Lowe can leave forever. Forget all other loony ideas until we're back in the Prem, because it's a big waste of time. IMHO.
  8. Great news - good luck Ron with the rest of your recovery. Please come over and visit SMS some time soon - it would be a massive boost for all fans and you would be treated as royalty I am sure.
  9. Stupid waste of life - sad yes - but if you play with fire expect to get burnt.
  10. I think Offix has summarised the position well. Also, as someone who goes to games on his lonesome, this place for the better part gives me an opportunity to discuss the club and its football. The only small gripe I might have is the little 'clicks' that seem to persist on here - you can find yourself basically ignored, usually by certain posters having more to say about each other than the football. I have tried to cut-back a bit on my visits here to not much avail recently just to claw-back a bit of time, but still enjoy the banter f'sure.
  11. Strangest feeling eh? You can get ointment for that.
  12. Too many chefs spoil the broth...especially when the present incumbants have served up a dogs dinner of a season. The Trust is a useless bunch of individuals who finally manage to put together a half-baked plan to 'save the club' - oh yes, and promote themselves into some position of importance. I think Crouch is one of the good guys, but the subjects of both of those reports is laughable.
  13. Another bashing from P*mpey?!?! LOWE OUT!!!
  14. This is a complete waste of time, although frankly I didn't even need to read it based on the comments above. You just get the feeling that someone has got too much time on his/her hands and so needs an outlet to make themselves seem important to the World. Riddled with contradictions, its basically good for the bin. Other than that, yeah, great idea. LOL.
  15. Thanks - and your opinion on my supposition is what exactly?
  16. Chicken & egg alert... fixed it for you.
  17. Why is this a LOL thread? You're agreeing with what I was suggesting in my original post. Why do you find it necessary to tar everyone with the same brush to make a your point? Most posters on this thread are advocating that Wotte makes no change!
  18. This week will see whether Wotte really is going to make a difference. He has a big important decision to make regarding team selection. Cardiff are not going to be the same team as Preston - they will bully us more. It is imperative that Wotte gets his team selection spot-on, but this has to mean that Euell and Saga start up-front in a 4-4-2 or 4-1-2-1-2 formation. Preferably he will not change things atall, as consistency will mean a lot to the team also IMO. Agree?
  19. I cannot complain about ANY performance today. Even McGoldrick worked his socks off for the team. Outstanding performance medals go to... Saga, Size and particularly Euell who I thought not only made the ultimate difference to the front line, did everything he could to gee the players and act like a real leader. Excellent hard working display though from all of them. As far as Wotte is concerned - he will earn his credit in my eyes when he chooses the same team for next weeks game and gets another win under his belt. Then I might actually start to believe he has something to offer this club. And my hope will return.
  20. Please do that next week - thanks.
  21. When will the diatribe start to focus on RESULTS and the CORPORATE STRUCTURE of the club. Forget Lowe - his day is done now...he is a spent force and its only a matter of time. The BIG question is not who will replace him but HOW. This means concentrating on dissolving the PLC - absolutely essential to ensure the right corporate structure is in place post-Lowe and the right people are in place (i.e. not the present incumbents) to attract new investment rather than limply prop-up a failed experiment. Frankly, I expect the club to be financially sick for quite sometime, but one thing is for sure - if the PLC structure remains new investment will not come into the club. If this club is EVER going to survive and repair itself (let alone get back to the top flight), THIS must be the numero uno priority. Sorry if that is a tough call for all the shareholders that post on here, but hey that's the risk and you really should have sold when Lowe's master plan looked like going tits-up months ago. I did.
  22. First time I've bothered reading the article today and I am totally shocked at how explicit Wotte has been in his condemnation of the supporters that provide his wages. And that's in the face of what can only be described as a wholly incompetent performance. Is he really as crass and stupid as THAT!!!! No wonder he's getting f*ck all from the players...his managerial skills must have been honed in a kindergarten FFS.
  23. But don't you wish we could go along to a game with some hope? I do. I turn up expecting us to lose - I really wish I didn't feel that way, but that's what Lowe has delivered for years now - low expectations. And even if we scrape a win, I am wondering whether that will actually make me feel better. If we win today and then again at the next game, perhaps then I might start to believe again and re-gain some hope.
  24. I foresee 0-0 until 8 minutes from half-time. They will then score as we switch off thinking about tea and biscuits in the changing room at half-time. We will all sit there as they come out for the 2nd half thinking "hey, perhaps we can get a lucky one and get out of this"...but no, Saints manage to wrestle despair from the jaws of defeat and allow another one on one with Kelvin, but after pulling off his 7th world-class save this time they get through to score a 2nd. We then step-up a gear for the final 35 minutes but they shut-up shop knowing full well that the game is won. The 2nd half performance provides Wotte with his usual post match commentary (b*ll*cks) stating that we were the best team, playing the best football and he cannot understand why we lost. There are boos and singing of "you don't know wotte you're doing" and mass demonstration outside reception. We all go home, come on here and spit bile for 2 hours before going to bed. Not sure why I am going to be honest - it really will be something like that. Its a bit like buying a McDonalds - you're hungry, but you know deep down that you're not going to be truly satisfied with the experience and inside it ain't doing you too much good! But you stuff it down anyway. COYR!
