I would not be surprised in the slightest at the game being postponed.

I was astounded at how poor this guy was in this game. The most shocking part was him completely ignoring Bosingwa put studs into Benayouan's back at the corner flag. The linesman saw it and flagged...Riley just ignored the incident! This was the most blatant example of 'ref rigging' I think I have ever seen - I reckon Riley had previously given a poor decision against Chelsea, so then ignored this incident to 'even' things up. Unprofessional conduct and he should be banned for that display.

I think we are very close to Admin. There simply has not been the outbound moves that the club required to get money in. Lowes strategy is really unravelling before our very eyes, which is extremely sad as it also signifies further depths to be sunk to before the club bottoms out. Frankly, as results are not going to be too much different to when JP was in charge, there will need to be some extremely difficult decisions made in the near future. I would hazard a guess that there are many who, like me, would not mind administration as it would signal the end of Lowe, Wilde and the PLC. It might just signify the beginning of a new more positive era.

Answers the question in full - good post JS.

I thought the mid-field was poor in terms of tactics today. There are players that are either not understanding how it works or just not good enough to adapt...namely McGoaldrought and Lallana. Both of these guys need to sort themselves out, but I really think the formation does not help the team one bit. The nearer we seem to get to a standard 4-4-2 the better the team plays IMO. How long before this is seen by Wotte? Perhaps even he has his orders from the Director of Football to play that way?

Saeijs was absolutely fantastic for us today. He put in strong legal challenges all the time, his movement was great, his anticipation saved us on at least three occassions. Easily man of the match, followed by Davis and Saga, who showed fantastic composure in front of goal to score twice (something McGoaldrought can only dream about). Wotton today led the team - he bossed the midfield and was the leader we have been crying out for further up the pitch - keep him there like Davis is kept in goal and keep Saga up front - with Perry/Saeijs at CB there's the spine sorted. On the flipside, Gillet and Lallana were pants today. Surman kept getting dragged inside and leaving Molyneax exposed.

True, but who would put money on it? It really has to be the worst odds ever for a new manager. Today though is really about the Manager - the players have not changed...he has had time to think about his selection following the Norwich game...he has the chance, but is he good enough? Big questions will be answered today.

Mmm - I hate to say it, but I think it could be 1-3 to Swansea. If we turn up - perhaps a 1-1 draw.

Great idea, but only if the Prem is brought to justice too. What must be remembered is that the actions in the Prem ripple down the leagues and also through supporters wallets. The pain MUST be borne starting in the Prem otherwise this will not have the desired result overall.

Saints to blame for rise in domestic violence?
Saint Fan CaM replied to Master Bates's topic in The Saints
Look, I am not the most 'with it' poster when it comes to the technology, but there are ways of indicating a joke on here. You chose not to use them, so don't be surprised when you get flamed for such an insensitive and derrogatory post. -
Understand where you're coming from LSG, but I think these things go hand in hand with formation. Formation is not just about how you start a game - its about how you move off the ball and still retain discipline for example. One of the great myths with the Dutch experiment in my eyes is the 'passing game'. Frankly, I think some of even our lesser opponents have passed the ball on the ground MORE EFFECTIVELY than we have. Why? Because their formation - or more to the point their positioning - has been far better than ours.

Saints to blame for rise in domestic violence?

Don't really think that was called for... I had you down as intelligent (misguided, but intelligent). Infraction? -
Agree with you Mike - today will prove to either turn opinion around or cement the growing anger at the running of the club. The interesting aspect of today will be if we win playing 4-3-3 with McG up-front on his own and Saga on the bench. What will that confirm? Nothing IMO - but it will buy Wotte a little time.
-
I think you got this pretty correct, although I am not so sure the two homes games would have been enough to heal the wounds completely. There would still be a large degree of mistrust in Lowe and his Dutch experiment. However, it would have been a potential springboard to a potentially brighter future next season. I think Lowe's plan stretches over the next 2-3 seasons in terms of re-building, the trouble is that it has failed at the first hurdle and spectactularly at that. Now Lowe has pushed himself even further into a corner with ANOTHER change of Manager - his reputation truly does precede him!
-
Yep you've hit the nail right square on there - completely agree.

Of one thing is certain - Wilde is no friend of SFC. He is the largest shareholder - that's it. To the best of my knowledge he has invested no personal money into the club and is not much better than a freeloader who is still hanging around waiting for a change of fortunes in his share value. And due to his re-instatement of Lowe, he has single-handedly managed to set the scene for our relegation to L1 and for that he is beyond contempt. And before any luvvies try to turn history around, Leon was on the case with finances - he had Pearson pulling the club together, higher gate receipts and the team starting to win games. He knew it was going to be tough and it took a little while to sort things out, but it was slowly turning around. He has put personal money into the club over many years - e.g. sponsorships, statue - even though he is not the largest shareholder. I could go on. WILDE OUT - LOWE OUT. COME ON YOU SAINTS!

Great post - can we exclude the steward who was so intent on being a mouthy tw*t at the Man Utd game, every word he shouted seemed to be accompanied by spit that rained down on me and those around me? Most stewards are fine, but this guy really thought he was God's gift rather than the repulsive idiot he actually was. -
Is Mr Wilde Gracing Us With His Presence Tomorrow
Saint Fan CaM replied to Gemmel's topic in The Saints
I think it might be better if he was not there frankly...and Lowe too for that matter. Just let the team and coaches do their work without any Board level interference. -
Frustrated the hell out of me - his effort never seemed to result in a commensurate level of success, but compared to what we see nowadays this guy was world-class! LOL. Good luck Brett - you were a fine servant, if only to Philips missus. [chuckle]

Not to mention another 5-10k through the gates.

He's met his level at Bournemouth I fear. Not good enough for Saints.
