While the table suggests all of the results could conspire to relegate us, experience says they will not. As for Chelsea, they now see their 3rd place under threat so they have to beat Leeds. I believe we will stay up - but it could well look stupidly close on paper and should result in a massive inquest, followed by changes.

I'm expecting a tight chess-like match of few chances between two evenly-matched sides who are just happy to keep the ball. I reckon one goal could settle it, probably their sixth.

Is there still a news blackout on the police raid re PPE corruption? I thought the D notice only worked up until the local elections but if we talk about Starmer instead the rest of it might all just sweep away. But we're going to need a bigger carpet. -
Is Eddie Howe still a coaching genius?

I think the chances of agreement on this issue were lost when small sections of each side either branded all Brexit voters as thick racists, when only some of them are, or blindly believed Boris Johnson and arrogantly told all Remainers that they were fucking traitors who hate their country and were wrong about everything. As soon as someone adopts the latter attitude, they should accept that when the promised unicorns don't appear in the sunny uplands and much of Project Fear arrives instead, creating billionaires out of multi-millionaires, there may be questions to answer and mistakes to be admitted before they can move on. The polite approach may be to accept that some Brexit voters were innocent victims of misinformation about saving the NHS, cheap energy etc, and trying to do the right thing - and as such were conned. The real criminals are the ones who did the conning for their own personal gain, and have damaged the UK economy and reputation - and created division that will never heal.

Neil Parish is playing a blinder too. He's managed to distract from government corruption and instead convince everyone that he's just another seedy old Tory pervert. Top job, great work - Go Neil! -

This week they will say literally ANYTHING to try and reduce damage at the forthcoming elections. It will be a week of made-up shit and distractions, dead cat after dead cat, brace yourself for some mad shit and parroted nonsense on a loop. -

So The Mail has been caught out pretending that a photo from 2015 is Kier Starmer breaking Covid rules, they were also exposed as inventing the Rayner rumour back in January, while our beloved BBC seems keen on a news blackout about the massive story of a police raid over PPE corruption. Stay alert folks, this week you'll need to find most of the news yourselves. -
Experience suggests they won't all get to 40 points, but in current form we are edging ourselves dangerously close to a nervy 17th place finish. That would be a ridiculous surrender by this group of players. They need to show some fucking fight.

We finally find an MP with the integrity to admit a mistake and resign. Granted, he is a seedy tractor pervert with a dangerously relaxed attitude to what's acceptable in the work place, but it's a start and should act as an example to others. Made a huge mistake or been caught doing something criminal? Admit it and resign. -
Lazy defending for both goals. Extra sloppy for the 2nd, no striker should be given the room to turn two central defenders and get in a speculative shot from there. Poor effort all round - much work needed in the summer.

I see that one of the friends of cabinet given VIP lane access to supply and profiteer from unusable PPE has been raided by the police... What imaginary report will we be waiting on to delay and shut down that investigation? This could expose the corruption at the highest level if it's allowed to proceed. It would be nice to know where all of our money ended up - and who gave it away, and what they got in return. -
Danny Ings loved us and moved to a big club where he could win things and his career has gone from strength to strength - he's back in the England team, winning silverware, looking forward to European football, staying fit and still in with half a chance of outscoring Bednarek this season.

If I ever need career advice, Charlie Austin is the first guy I call...from Swindon to Burnley, he's seen it all. The way he's lurched from one club to the next, never being wanted anywhere long enough to achieve anything, yes, Charlie's the perfect role model for any young pro looking to break through on the international stage in 2022. When Charlie speaks, the world listens.

Credit where it's due - that was a great comeback tonight and they've had a really strong finish to what has been a fantastic season. The plucky blues are still in with a shout of grabbing that all-important 8th place.

It was a bit of a shambolic wall - as Prowsie is such a danger you'd think they might have prepared for a free-kick scenario. What an invitation of a backheel from Romeu for the 2nd one, and what a strike!

The Rees-Mogg family had £7.7million of taxpayer money to renovate his home, and as a multi-millionaire he moved his financial interests out of the UK to benefit from Brexit, so he's happy - and clearly a man of the people, entirely in touch with life in the UK. He has not a clue about food banks, people struggling to pay energy bills or the thousands of small businesses tied down by export red tape - and as he is personally pocketing a huge Brexit bonus, he doesn't give a flying fuck. -
It's not acceptable to have a country at war competing in international events while their government condones the mass killing and raping of civilians. In these circumstances most rational people would probably agree that a tennis club ban used as a tool to further pressure their government, is not abhorrent. But I suspect I'll be corrected.

Either way the UK economy is still performing better than Russia's. And we still lead the world in EVERY field of human endeavour. Go us. -

You have to say that it's been a great effort but plucky pompey have just come up a tiny bit short after a great battle that's kept the world of football on the edge of their seats for literally days. Cash-rich Morecambe are clearly one of the big-hitters in whatever division they're in, which looks to be a very competitive league - and their ground, whatever it's called, is known across Europe as a fortress. For pompey to push them so close today was an epic result, the high-flying Shrimps have only lost 22 games this season, and their minus 28 goal difference demonstrates what a difficult side they are to break down. Bravo to the Cowleys - keep up the good work, they are only about 10 or 11 players short of mounting a serious challenge, and we're only seven years away now from the Eisner's target of rubbing shoulders with Manchester City, Liverpool, Real Madrid and Inter Milan. Today's battling draw was another huge step towards that goal.

The thing that stood out for me today was the mistake we made letting Cedric go. We should have offloaded Prowsie instead and put Cedric on free-kicks.

The mad Rwanda stunt was a nice distraction for a few days but if another covid fine lands, like a £10k one for his current missus, who some claim was a serial party organiser, that'll put Partygate straight back into the news agenda top three. He needs another distraction...maybe leak more stuff on the dodgy Sunaks?...
