This really, and if you take the time to read it it isnt exactly inflationatory. Neither was the article that is mentioned in the OP either tbh. He has concededwe got away with it this year (so far) and we did, if you genuinely think it could happen everytime then you are sadly mistaken. You dont sell half a team and lose a manager and just dust yourself off like we have done, hence why the bookies and much of the press had us as relegation fodder. Realistically many of us thought we would be ok, I certainly thought we would stumble at first and recover to mid table but what the board and Koeman have achieved is excellent and Im full of praise for them. End of the day Samuals is right. With investment this team (academy willing) could propel itself to a top 6-4 team in a few years, with the right luck and investment. Realistically it wont happen, things like that dont in football these days. He is also right that if we continually adopt this years strategy then we will eventually fail, my main gripe about that is its obvious, and I just dont feel that it will happen. So I do ask myself, yes Samuals can be reactionary in regards Saints, he has in the past, but why the vitriol for his past two articles ? -
Dont necessarily know or want to speculate if it was a 'fiddle' though there were definate 'perks' As per the contracts, I believe some were written over his tenure that basically were no where near legally binding and needed sorting out
-
Because we are crap. There are a multitude of reasons why we arent very good, in the main its attempting to press gang as many recognised players as possible into a system that suits rather then taking a more mourinho approach and picking the system you want and employing players that suit it. In short, the fa need to; reduce the cost of coaching courses to increase take up and pool of coaching talent Ensure that there is a large take up of players playing in the under age tournaments and bring a team through using the same tactics Somehow attempt to tackle the increase in foreign players that are reducing the game time of english talented youngsters
-
In fact, I think its completely related, the courses need to be affordable to all, then we may catch up with the other european nations levels of qualified professionals and also hopefully increase the amount of 'minorities' involved in the game. Overall though, the whole 'lack of black managers' is crap, im sure if there were black managers with the correct pedigree and experience they'd be being interviewed.
-
If they were good enough they would get the job, there isnt enough that are good enough unfortunately. Unrelated the FA need to reduce the entry fee to coaching courses accross the board though.
-
Like I said because Davies doesnt know or has played with any other player in the team, its willfull ignorance and naivety thinking that you can just marry up 11 outsiders just because they are 'in form' its rediculous and doomed for failure. You moan about 'gelling' a team over summer yet believe you can chuck 11 random internationals together and hope for the best ? Make your mind up. There is a reason why more or less every national team and our past x amount of managers call up groups of players with a few one offs, its because of familiarity
-
All but Lovren for the right prices. They dont turn into bad players overnight after all
-
Exactly is, he is the rolls royce engine in this team. Surely we cant keep hold of him forever ? What a player he is though, simply exceptional. Ive been saying he is our best player since league 1, and I honestly dont think he is far off the best midfielder in the prem, certainly in his position.
-
Lallana doesnt play with technique and skill then ?
-
Really sorry to hear that, was starting to look very good in that midfield. A real shame that.
-
I really dont know who is better out of Tadic or Lallana, they both have good a bad parts of the game. Im also not going to pretend Lallana was crap, he wasn't, he was a very good player for us. What I will say is that we dont miss him, partly due to the set up, partly due to how good tadic is. He is a great signing, and thats what really matters.
-
Got to say Pelle looks every bit the man we need aswell, after Leverkusen I worried that he was a bad buy but everytime I see him Im impressed. Ok, he needs to get a bit of composure back, itll come. But the mans a unit, wins everything, upsets defences and has an eye for a pass
-
Yup, pelle could have had 2 easily, and if that pass from Tadic (who was magnificent tonight) was on the floor to long at the end then that would've been a certainty
-
Mane really caused them problems, quick, good feet, looks dangerous. Really excited by him. Gardos, looks classy, looks awesome. Was so happy with Alderweireld but looking at this guy he looks just a assured. Great options at the back now. Targett, looks good. Quick, good positioning, eager, strong in the tackle, good prospect. Other than that the team had a swagger to it, kept the ball when required, tried to hit on the break and once they lost possession worked hard to get behind the ball. Koemans really got them working well together. Ok, it was a weak arsenal team but they were pumped up, and we shrugged them off. Ill see you at Wembley
-
Then why say something then you bellend ?

Plenty of deals floating aroumd for this Shopto offering ps4 version with 15 ut gold packs for 44 quid but managed to get ultimate team Version from tesco for 42 quid
-
He looked pretty good to me, nothing wrong with calling up young players in positions we are short in. Get him into the set up early so he has time to gel. It slways surprises me that so many people are ignorant to the fact you have to build a team over time in internationals. Picking just 'in form' players doesnt work and no national team does it anywhere. You need to pick players used to playing with your regular internationals and try to make that team gel over time

My psn is - WTFsmirky08 if anyone wanted to add me btw

FWIW I was highly critical of the early season situation, and a lot of the worry I accumulated at the time was because I was hearing worrying things from the training ground. What I can say is that its all seemingly turned to the positive now, the board have a grip on things and I genuinely have no worries for the future, and again, this is backed up by what Im hearing from the training ground. -
Tbh as much as he is a ***** Id of liked him to have done quite well, I get the impression however that he needs time for the team to gel to his methods. Will be interesting to see if Levy keeps his finger off of the trigger for long enough Why they didnt get shot of soldado and get a decent striker. Adebayor is too hot and cold

That said though, I agree that the premise of what he writes is utter crap, possibly the easiest article he has ever written. 'If a club keeps selling the majority of its 11 and its best players and manager there is a strong chance it will fail' You dont say Samuals What I will say though is any comparison between us, athletico, newcastle and leeds is tired and frankly incorrect, the other clubs were forced into it through financial requirements, there were differing reasons for us and we reinvested well.
