  1. -------------------- You're tragic you knoooow, Mauricio Pelligrinooo (yep, i'm off, got hat, tail between legs)
  2. We’ll go one up, decide to defend the lead for an hour and not have another attack, fart about with it and let two in. Sound familiar?
  3. Don’t forget Black, it was his fault until he left a few weeks back
  4. This needs to be gold framed and locked in the vault with the rest of the classic posts.
  5. He'll be at Leicester next season probably.
  6. Went to the game yesterday with no expectations really, was impressed by the first 45 minutes, largely due to Chelsea not being at there best but as soon as Yoshida gave the free kick away you could feel the goal going in. I really don't get what Saints attacking plan is, they win the ball back and a channel ball is on but it never happens, Gabbiadini was in decent positions three or four times but the ball just came inside and went back to try and keep procession. My mind is definitely changing on MP, I just don't think he is tactically good enough.
  7. Why did the board fight to keep him as hard as they did in the summer only to sell him six months later, it's not happening, he aint going nowhere this season.
  8. I'll be there supporting my team win lose or draw, it's a life sentence being a saints fan and us older generation have seen this all before. Back the boys, you never know.
  9. Does Hayley McQueen or Natalie Sawyer count ??
  10. In my opinion you cant go toe to toe with teams like Man City otherwise we'd get smashed. I really enjoyed watching Saints last night, we looked dangerous on the break and stayed firm at the back. A win Sunday would be a good points return over the 3 games.
  11. What are you not convinced about ?
  12. This thread was stupid and embarrassing before today, back your team and ride the wave good or bad..
  13. Fair comment, must have just read it the wrong way
  14. Sorry but i don't get your sarcasm ? That's what this thread is for isn't it to have an opinion and to compare us with Man Utd is also very strange, and i was also there at Anfield.
  15. In, Players need to take more responsibility, pull there finger out, play for the shirt and us fans, man the f*** up and get on with there jobs, i'm fed up of hearing he's not happy or he wants to leave or we should be playing two up front blah blah blah. Get a kin grip and get on with what your paid to do. The manager needs to see a reaction Sunday some passion that has sadly been missing, a loss and i feel a decision could be made but at the moment i still think there is some mileage in the manager. (I feel better now)...I thank you
  16. Its started to go wrong when Puel was appointed and decided to change the formation of the side up front. Koeman inherited the formation from the previous manager but made us a little more direct getting the ball up top quicker. Claude Puel totally changed it by taking out the front man who came looking for the ball and would hold it up for the midfield to release mane or whoever. This created more chances and more goals. Since then as we've experienced it's been utter tripe. The reason Puel did this was because he said the way we were playing would knacker us out with the amount of games we would have (or not) with Europe etc.. Best thing we can do is get a Pelle type player in the Xmas window. Simple reason really but only us fans see it not the management.
  17. I remember the early 80's Christmas parties in the old supporters club at the Dell, i was well and truly gob smacked and star struck when the likes of Keegan/Channon/Ball and my hero at the time Steve Williams walked in to sign autographs. Times definitely change you tho as you get older !! Unfortunately, i do not feel star struck with these modern players, but moments back then is why i support this club through good, bad and ugly times, we didn't even talk about formations then !!!. Great memories.
  18. Mitch is managing one of the two afc totton under 16 sides made up through MLT natural coaching.
  19. Interesting view from a knumb poster, some of it may be true, some of it actually resembles them, Also, I can't stand them either ! thread Postby the pink palermo on Sat Aug 19, 2017 6:39 am For some strange reason Southampton are one of those sides I don't like watching , they're neither dull nor exciting , they're nothing much at all : the very definition of a club settling for PL mid table respectability .These days they're a club without a romantic bone in their body . However armed with a ticket , a flask of coffee and a couple of travel companions the pinkymobile will be departing in a couple of hours for the trip down to the industrial south coast , where it will of course be raining . As to how I expect us to line up , I've no idea beyond the certain starters of Hart , Reid, Noble, Arnautovic and Hernabdez ,I doubt he will start with Antonio, probably bringing him on after an hour to get a solid 30 minutes under his belt .Rice, too, I would expect to get another half an hour , probably for Obiang who surely cannot be as poor again .I'd start with Rice myself, but I'm not sure Slaven will . Economics might dictate that Zabaleta gets another start even though I'm not convinced of our 4 at the back set up . The fact I can't see an obvious starting line up is setting a few alarm bells ringing .A couple of injuries and the squad is extremely limited . One goal in this .Noble penalty to win it , but it's going to be a case of winning ugly .
  20. Would Saints go with 3 at the back, if VVD is staying plus the new polish lad, that's 5 CB's to keep happy ?
  21. Nice and positive, thanks for your input
  22. Surely we've moved on from loaning players !
  23. Interesting comments from Steve Parish in the De Boer press conference, he made it quite clear that there was another club who had made contact to De Boer but De Boer wanted to make it clear to Parish he was only interested in Palace and had not spoken to the other club. Also, De Boer was asked about the Everton job last season, he said he was in pole position for the job until Koeman changed his mind after saying no first time round. Backs up what a lot of people have been saying.
  24. Nice farewell from Claude https://southamptonfc.com/news/2017-06-15/claude-puel-statement Have to say, that's the most interesting thing he's said (written) since he's been here.
  25. Just seen on the website saints are looking for memorabilia for a museum piece in 2018, interested to know who's got what. I'll start the ball rolling, I've got the original plate from one of the turnstiles from the Milton rd end of the dell, it's labelled "turnstiles of Manchester" also got my seat and some turf from the last game.
