There's got to be a rule 1 if that happens!

Yeh, more than likely it will get 'cranky' if a skate gets to read the comments.

Why has no one been on the moon since 1972?
EastleighSoulBoy replied to thesaint sfc's topic in The Lounge
Oh! we didn't? All those lies that have been peddled over the years and, more stupidly, how the vast majority of us (who have learned of the moon landings) have actually believed them! Still, glad that the earth is flat. -
Well, I've just checked and the only two comments are very tongue in cheek. Not libellous and only tongue in cheek. Although irony is a little lost as it travels across the pond I must admit. Also, why would they want to trace any comments to here? To comment you need to leave an e-mail address. that's the one they'd use surely? There's far more legally borderline crap gets posted on here than so far on that site!

First sung to Budgie all those years ago?

I don't think that it is neccessarily about dropping anyone. More a case of releasing those that are deemed surplus and then recruiting a couple of more bods to add depth and create a healthy competition for places. I'm sure that ML, NC et al are watching things closely and being extremely proactive in the governance of the club. I'm sure a glass or two of fine wine may, at some time, pass their lips in a happy reflection of their success so far. Still a way to go but my confidence is quietly growing.

Very pleased!

So if it's dark at 18.30 BST today, we then put the clock back one hour (overnight) to GMT so that 18.30 BST today becomes 17.30 GMT tomorrow. Hey presto it's now going to be dark at 17.30 tomorrow! Stupid? No. Easily confused (like me)? Yes.

1979 to 1997 has an average growth of 2.228% per annum 1998 to 2008 has an average growth of 2.136% per annum Not a great difference really.

He's talking the talk, kidology. When the whistle blows those Saints are not going to stand back. They know what they need to do now. They are going to rip into them!

If I read this right, al Faraj has borrowed £5m to pay wages. He's levered the loan against future TV revenue and income from the club real estate. Real estate which is actually owned by Comical Ali, who has now fallen out with Al Faraj. Ali is now looking to be more clever than we gave him credit for. I love it when a plan falls apart!

I am truly shocked because I, for one, didn't expect you to think this way!

I seem to have fallen off the graph! I think I was just to the left of Badger?

A good point and one which was debated on Solent this morning. I didn't get to hear it all because of commitments but what came across was the fact that although most of the people seemed to be anti racist etc. they did defend the right of the BNP to be heard. At least with them being on prime time TV they can be questioned about their policies. Something which may not, under fear of physical intimidation, be possible when in the street. Again, I really hope that this programme reveals them for what they really are. Or, maybe ?, they'll surprise us and come out with something of more value than the 'half expected' racist diatribe?

They should be allowed to partake purely because we are in a democracy. I'd really like them to be exposed for all their snarling, bigoted policies which they are desperately trying to conceal. What I find rather insensitive is that the BBC choose to produce such a programme, with all it's intricacies and possibilities, during Black History Month Also here: http://www.black-history-month.co.uk/

Not the Eastleigh McCarthys Jill.
-
The Eastleigh McCarthys are Gerry, Ady (went to primary with Ady) and Sean. Not related to the Southampton McCarthys, of boxing and door security fame.

Chandlers Ford/Winchester boy then?

Thanks, my memory is still quite good then! Good to see mention of Walter Cronkite in a nostalgia thread, even if he might not have been a Southampton boy.
