  1. you're very good of making 2=2 = 39!! You're assumptions are based on rumour, counter rumour and b******* and you try to make yourself sound clever and knowledgeable at the same time. Sad. Enjoy your game of FM though....
  2. Get rid of the ungrateful, unprofessional, and previously unwanted egotist. Rather a weaker team of understudy keepers who want to fight for their place than a better one who will not fight. We are better in first choice, significantly stronger in the long term but identical in back-up if he goes. There will be options.
  3. On the face of it, I agree, but the more you see of Chambers and read his tweets, the more he strikes me as a young lad who has progressed very quickly into the big time and it seems like his ego is hugely inflated. Possibly the stereotypical "cocky little t***"!! Assuming this then it is very possible that this is a major reason why we agreed to let him go. There is no doubt that on the basis of three games it looks like a mistake and it may well be one that we live to regret - from purely a football perspective - but those who know hi within the club may not feel like that. No team needs a bad apple. We will see in the next few months how good he really is likely to be and when Hodgson calls him up we will know a bit more. Very early days, we have seen lots of young kids look the part - many at Arsenal - but turn out not to be as expected.

  5. What a nice way to call me an idiot. Far too many people like yourself are unable to see the future and judge the future because they have very little understanding of sport, coaching, psychology and live in the paradigm that sky have created call the Premier League. Reality is vitally important to grasp but without visionaries, optimists, leaders, and believers, the reality never changes. If nothing ever changes what's the point of sport, what's the point of life? I'd rather die with a smile on my face than a look of boredom and acceptance. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. This will sound like a very strange thing to many but I truly believe that this has been brilliant for our club. Over the last four to five years the team had remained very settled with two or three additions each window and the inevitable 'wastage' as poorer players slowly get replaced. The only big sale was Ox when we were still in League One. When poorer players leave and better arrive no one really cares as they see perceived improvement, even though that does not always happen, we have been lucky that it has recently. As the Club rose back up the leagues the core of the team obviously improved until we finished 8th last season. International call-ups and contact with players already at bigger clubs and who were obviously being paid many times more and competing for titles turned the heads of some. This is understandable, but the way some appear to have gone about getting their move is what leaves a bitter taste in the mouths of many. When 5 really good players leave within weeks of each other fans start to panic, media have a juicy story and recruitment becomes far more important. On top of the players, the manager walks out too. Change is very uncomfortable for most, and for those who's emotions are permanently tangled up in a football club, change of the ilk we have seen is difficult to experience and make sense of. Rational thinking for most is lost in the turmoil of change, fear, anger, frustration, and whatever other feelings manifest themselves. But this change could well be the most important and good thing to happen since we came out of administration. Let's assume that Pochettino had stayed. Would all the players have stayed? I doubt it. They were not here for him, if they were why did they not go to Spurs? No, they wanted moves to the Champions League with a big club, fair enough. If we said no to all of them then we would face the potential dilemma of having 5 or 6 disgruntled players who would probably not perform at their peak - no World Cup squad to motivate this season. And so if their form dipped who would come in? Worse players. And without 100m to spend we may have purchased a couple more players but in a side that was under-performing values of Lallana, Lovren, Shaw, Chambers would probably drop and then either January or next summer we would of been faced with the same scenario but now they would not command as high fees. So in my opinion the club have done brilliantly given the fact that the egos of a few have caused this situation. But they were the egos of the leading characters in the club and they effected the culture of the group. We have cleared those egos and begun a revolution, which has no expectation. It's a great place to be. We have a very sound, very experienced, very well respected, a footballing legend as a player and I think a very honest and very cool manager. This is not a club with a project or a five year plan, this is a club with a philosophy. At the end of this window everyone will be able to judge fully the net product of transfers. As it stands I think we are ahead already. We have a better goalkeeper, a CB who like for like cannot be regarded any less good if not better than when we signed Lovren, in Bertrand we have a very capable player and CL winner, Pelle and Long look very strong and offer as much if not more than Lambert and Osvaldo, Taider adds real depth and quality to CM, whilst Tadic looks the real deal. Better than Lallana, who knows, but as he is younger, probably has more development left than Lallana. With a winger confirmed as a target we will certainly have a lot more speed in the side, and a group of players with lots to prove. We have a manager who is quoted as saying he is here for the long haul. I hope he is and if so I think we will look back at this Sumer as the best summer ever.
  7. If Artur Boruc cannot accept that his boss has chosen to make someone else the number one choice goalkeeper when he is at the twilight of his career then he can **** off. These overpaid whingers need to grow up. Pathetic. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. Excellent! Adkins talked about evolution, Pochettino provided motivation, and now we have Ronald's revolution. Exciting times.
  9. If only the transformation of the Saints squad could be mirrored on this website but get rid of the sh*te.....!!!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Shane Long

Wow!! The over reaction in here is truly pathetic. I'll admit, at the moment of hearing the link and then the fee I was hardly jumping with joy. However, when you take a moment to think about it this is actually a really good purchase. Last season our goals came from three main sources, Lambert JRod and Lallana. We now have Pelle Long Tadic AND JRod (who will be first on the team sheet most weeks when fit) and hopefully a rejuvenated and effective Gaston. Last two seasons Lallana scored 14, Long 17. Long will provide great short term cover for JRod and excellent competition in training and a very good option from the bench. This board is full of clueless over reactionary fools. 12. Would certainly prefer Borini, Ings, Wickham at c.10m. For 5-6m maybe Long is a good choice to bolster the bench. Hopefully a PR leak to speed up a.n.other deal.
  13. I'd swap Morgan for Tonwsend and Kane....and 30m.
  14. I don't think we have reached that point yet.... Maybe we will only get one CB and one Striker before even the end of the window, but if 1-2 is pedaled then the expectation is quelled. As I have said all along, we can only truly judge at the close of the window. We will not be the only team that signs a player or players after the first game. Regardless of our wishes as fans, the world cup has had a big impact on the time available to sign players.
  15. Hopefully he's learnt to under promise and over deliver, unlike the comments post Brighton game!
  16. MINUS 4 years Shaw 3 years Lallana 3 years Lovren 2 years Lambert 3 years Chambers 2 years Osvaldo Guly
  17. I'd be amazed if we sign two out and out strikers. One and a winger possibly, one definitely. Two CBs is the statement that we mean business, one and wait till January for another suggests consolidation. Understandable. Signing Byram would be a good thing but not essential with Yoshida (and Cork for a game or two) easily good enough to cover. Priority in terms of timing is CB and Striker, so the next few days. Forster appears done which is great then spend the last two weeks getting Byram, CB no.2 and a winger. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. Looks good, CL and international experience. Still need another, would make sense if a Leftfooted CB (Rojo) was signed. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. Liverpool, Utd and Arsenal had to reach our premium for players. It works two way you clueless mong
  20. What positions are the two, possibly four?
  21. Forster, Van Dijk, Rojo, Ings, Pelle, Tadic, Bertrand, and Taider would equate to an excellent window. Four in so far just four to go! The squad would then look like this; GK. Forster Boruc LB. Bertrand Targett RB. Clyne Yoshida/McCarthy CB. Van Dijk Rojo Fonte Yoshida DCM. Wanyama Schniederlin Cork Reed AM Ramirez Tadic JWP Davis Taider ST. Pelle Ings JRod Gallagher Pretty damn competitive.
  22. He's the freak??!!! You got to be the weirdest poster on here....deliberate or not. I await the reply from he who can give it out but cannot take it.
  23. Magic. Not. He may turn out to be a very useful player but he seems to only be signing because Inter want Osvaldo, would we have gone for him if not? And yes I have considered that perhaps we forced the issue on wanting him once it was clear Inter wanted Osvaldo, so we will see. Priority signings remain at least one CB, two really. I do not think Fonte plus one with Yoshida and Jos as back up is good enough. Unless JRod is less than a couple of months from returning we need another decent striker, I would still be very happy with ings or Guidetti. A goalkeeper is vital regardless of some peoples reasoning that Boruc might go, every team needs two keepers capable of being first choice. A bonus would be another winger.
  24. Imagine a world without the internet, and without 24 hour sport coverage. No, really think about it. The only "news" would be at 6pm, or in the evening or daily papers and rumours would only spread by word of mouth. I'm old enough to remember this world so maybe that helps me to put cope with the lack of signings. If all you have known is this world of instant communication and communication that literally billions of people could access at the very same moment and I can understand why patience is not a trait that many people under say 30 have in abundance. Of course we do live in the age of the internet and 24 hours coverage and so more information than ever before is transmitted instantly and so expectations and the thirst for news/information is almost constant and it is literally in peoples' hands. Despite this technology the process of signing a player is still and always will be a human process (aided by technology of course) but its people that talk, discuss, negotiate, test, and decide. This takes as long as it takes and when players are moving country it will likely take longer. The longer we go this week without some decent signings the more concerned I will be but if you take the access to forums and social media the waiting becomes easier and removes all the pathetic expressions of concern and fear that emanate on here because the forum acts as a release for too many. Imagine if you couldnt let loose on here......think how the chinese whispers would die down.
  25. A striker, a winger, a goalkeeper, and two centre-backs and j would say we're done and in decent shape. Five leavers covered plus three additions to strengthen the attack and defensive areas. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
