  3. arrrrhhhhhh.........sense........it does exist!!
  4. many many years ago I forget when, I went to watch Saints at Coventry but as we arrived it got called off....the effects of snow and very cold weather I seem to recall but strangely Walsalls home game against Brighton was on so we went and stood in the Brighton end!! Maybe Saturday we'll end up at The Ricoh with the Norwich fans..................!! First away trip for a couple of seasons be gutted if called off. Still got Charlton to look forward to....have they got undersoil heating?!!
  5. but. for. the. "worldie". to. quote. Adkins. Guly. would .have. put. us. one. up. very. early. on. Dont. get. the. negativity. around. him. honest. hardworking. skillfull. player. hard. to. be. fantastic. in. a. team. not. on. top. form. with loads. of. injuries. and. being. in. and. out. of. the. team. and. being. played. in. different. positions.
  6. One striker is paramount. Two would be great. An audacious double swoop on peterboro for Mackail-Smith and MaClean would be excellent. Buying an already succesful partnership would cut down on bedding in time and completey remove the burden and pressure from Lambert. Those two alse have experience in the Championsip. A winger seems neccessary but not essential to me. I do think we need a quality CM as well as signing Chaplow. We definitely need another CB as yesterday proved we are too vulnerable without Fonte. A keeper that commands his box, can kick and digstribute better than kelvin who for his shot stopping ability is not going to take us to the Prem!
  7. My god some people have no life!!!!!

    Excellent solution
  9. Serves them right. They choseto spend their money (well someone's!) on so called elite players in order to "buy success". Their choice and now they still have a sh*t tip of a ground and no training facilities of their own. We are fortunate that whoever has been in charge of our club regardless of their performance have always realised the importance of the infrastructure and The Academy. Possibly we only lost out on Anderton but at 15/16 he did not stand out amongst his peers. I know because my brothers his year group. At that time he was not good enough for us because the standard was very high. Without foundations in facilities and youth development no club deserves success.

All true and possible. Isn't it though his immediate family, indeed his daughter who is involved running hismain business group MALI? I would have thought that his will left his businesses to her and any other children rather than perhaps brothers, cousins etc who are in the Leibherr family main business! It's true we don't know but I don't get why some people who ate supposed Saints fans continually expect, look for, and even want the (potentially) worse things to happen. Why worry so much about rumours?! Ok it could be said I am but only cos it seems that muck spreading is some peoples hobby and it's pathetic!! Do they balance their thinking by talking about what if we go up and what if we invest X could we win the Prem, or a cup, or could we extend SMS....I think not. But hey, that's just me.....

This rumour may be true but I findthe logic behind it strange. The only " Leibherr Family statement" I can recall was all about BAU and continuing to fulfil Markus' dreams. On the face of it and from the little we got to know about Markus he was a devout man with very good principles. It therefore follows that his kin would be of similar ilk particularly if involved in his other businesses. If you were already very wealthy and Markus was your father or brother etc would you sell SFC now? It doesn't fit.
  12. Very very few players if any at the age of 16/17/18 who look fantastic and get a "big club" move at that age go straight into the squad let alone the team and accelerate their development and or reach their potential that quickly. Look at Bale, Walcott, as recent Saints. Of course in bias but OXO is in the best place for his development (just as Lallana is) because he's at a team that has as much potential as they do to go all the way to the Prem and at a good pace. Staying here, learning his trade, winning games, winning leagues must be better than training for the next two-three years and getting a few league cup games under his belt. What's the phrase....."don't run before you can walk".
  13. I thought his 50 yard 1-2 with Kelvin, beating 6 players, and then hitting the post was brilliant. If only he'd controlled the ball from Kelvin it would have been superb. Meanwhile, the game continued around him........!!!
  14. I thought he had his best game of the season.........
  15. Maybe doing well so far this season but doesn't mean he's good enough for us or that he's the right forward either. The fact that he's from Southampton perhaps make it feel like he should be here but being from Southampton should not be high on the list of attributes. He may not even support us! We need to sign someone proven over more than 16 games in League 1. Austin, LeFondre, Boyd, Graham, are just a few that spring to mind.
  16. It's an interesting point that Window Cleaner makes regarding the number of games played by Rickie last season. He actually played a game at Brizzle so 59 games! I checked and over his last 5 seasons since '05/'06 he has played 50, 52, 57, 48, and 59 an average of 53 games each season. In that time he has also averaged 23 goals per season. Without doing alot of research I doubt there are few players in world football who have played that many games over the same period. Admittedly over the last month or so I have become concerned that his goals have dried up. But with the knowledge of his workload it seems very logical that what he is going through is a bit of lethagy and fatigue, and almost certainly more mental than physical. If Pardew had managed to get another striker in and if Barnard and Connolly had been fit all season I suspect Rickie would now be in a better position. As it is he will almost certainly have to wait until at least January to get a rest which I think he needs. Only he and NA will know what the real matter is and only they can sort it. I'm sure they will. Considering all the concern there seems to be and the fact that we are well in the pack for top two, just imagine how good we'll be with some more options from Jan AND a firing Rickie for the last 4 months?!!
  17. There are some seriously clueless people on here!!! Anyway, Arsenal at The Emirates would be ideal as others have mentioned. Or anyone we can lose to and make money from!!!
  18. I like him, technically good, well he is French!!! Not sure he knows whether he should be the holding midfielder or the attacking midfielder! Not sure he's a good enough/string enough tackler to be the former and definitely doesn't create or score enough to be the latter!! Hopefully Adkins has decided he's the holding type and will help him in that! Certainly don't want to lose him!
  19. Think it will be virtually full strength, but I would leave Davis, Lallana, and Fonte on the bench and use Bart, Holmes and Martin. Probably also start with Guly instead of OX. The FA Cup is obviously not priority but getting to round 3 could possibly yeild a glamour tie and possible tv revenue/exposure for our club so important to be serious enough to win Saturday.
  20. Hard to disagree more!!! Thats the beauty of football, all about opinions! Think Dickson will be first choice and Harding wil be an ample deputy until an academy player is ready...or Adkins convinces Bridgey to end his career taking us back to the Prem!!! Seaborne though has reached his level....if he proves me wring fair play but think he's awful in very quick games and when the attacker puts him under alot of pressure, i.e. I think he's slow to make decisions and react.
  21. Don't think either are good enough to be in a top 6 Championship team next season where hopefully we will be!!!! So no worries....
  22. My brother lives in Shoreham and listened to "Brighton" commentary and the commentators thought Brighton were very lucky to get a point.
  23. I think you're doing our club and set-up a dis-service there. Unless he goes to a promotion chasing team with a great chance of actually going up, i.e. Cardiff or QPR, I think that coming to us would guarantee our promotion so he would only be sacrificing a few months of NPC footy for a few exciting months of winning and championship winning footy. And once we are up next season with our set-up and financial clout we wil be very well placed to challenge for top two. As for his personal deveopment he clearly isn't ready for the Prem anyway so a season or twoand a half with us will suit him perfectly.
  24. He would be awesome. Better than 1 in 2 record in League 1 (53 in 105). In Championship over last season and this he is scoring just about 1 every 2.5 games. At only 24 on our youngish developing team he could fulfil his potential here better than Hull or almost anywhere. Get him in NA!!
  25. First competitive game at St Marys was Chelsea.
