  1. I think a lot of this comes down to Les Reed not rating Jack that highly. Back in the summer I posted something I'd heard from a very credible source that I think got lost in the endless "x player is leaving" threads. Basically not only had Palace had a bid accepted for Cork but he was almost on his way to London when Koeman stepped in and said no way. It would be a shame if he left as I think he's a very good player, and we'll miss him more if Morgan goes. But as people have said he could potentially block the fabled 'pathway' to the first team for some youngsters, and he could be playing every game elsewhere.
  2. Chelsea want £30m for Schurrle...
  3. Not sure they're comparable... Gallagher has a goal in the PL and held his own against Arsenal, Paterson is playing (albeit very well) for Gosport Borough.
  4. Very true, I was just playing devils advocate really. You could make it so deliberate hand ball is a penalty, and accidental handball is a corner or an indirect free kick. I just think the seems to be so much confusion around the issue.
  5. I think Pelle has to start, no one else can hold the ball up well enough
  6. Surely you could argue though that if Fonte was instinctively lifting his hand to protect his face then that is a deliberate attempt to handle the ball, albeit only to deflect it away? Sometimes they're given, sometimes they ain't. Maybe they should make it more like hockey where if it hits your foot it's a foul whatever. Would mean more pens but would eliminate that grey area and make players keep their hands down!
  7. Some mental case has hacked alpine's account... Seriously though why not? This group of players have such a strong belief in themselves, we as their fans owe it to them to share that belief. I'm gonna stop looking over our shoulders and expecting equalisers that never come - this is a new Saints. Let's go for it.
  8. Lambert followed by Dean Hammond
  9. In terms of value as well as quality, I'd say Steven Davis. Lambert and Fonte were big money signings at the time, we paid like £800k for Davis which is an absolute steal.
  10. Come on everyone, start believing. We'll smash 'em. 0-3.
  11. Am I right in thinking we've only dropped two points from winning positions this season (Chelsea)? Says a lot about this team that if we get the lead we tend to keep it. I seem to remember dropping loads under Pochettino last season. Anyone know how many?
  12. Poor game but I think a lot of that was down to the conditions. We couldn't seem to get any fluency going forward. We won though and that's the main thing, but it was mostly a case of us being bad but Ipswich being worse.
  13. He may not be as good as Lambert at hold up play, but he's far from useless
  14. ****ing yes get in get in GET IN
  15. I'm looking forward to this one, a win would be excellent but I think I'd take a draw provided we go and beat Newcastle. I'd go with: Forster Clyne Toby Fonte Bertrand Schneiderlin Wanyama Davis JWP Pelle Elia For me JWP is in better form than Tadic at the moment as shown by his assist stats, plus he's due a goal surely? Missing Mane is a shame (wouldn't have said that three weeks ago) so I think Elia has to start. Bench also looks a little stronger with Long and Tadic to come on.
  16. Clyne the standout for me so far, with Toby, Fonte, Wanyama and Davis not far behind
  17. Looks like the front of his ankle to me
  18. Worst performance since promotion. We just DO NOT look like scoring ever. We were **** tonight and I never thought we'd equalise. That said I really think the main problem is squad depth. Fatigue and suspensions have ****ed us over. Bitterly disappointed. Oh and Mane has a lot to do to prove to me he's a premier league player.
  19. We have to start taking chances again. We were poor today and Burnley worked hard, but we had enough chances to win the game.
  20. Why can't we score goals anymore!
  21. Oh well. Disappointing really as I think we had the opportunities to put them under more pressure, we just kept ****ing them up. It's difficult, for example, to challenge from set pieces when 99% of the deliveries are appalling. Was a shame when Morgan went off although Alderweireld did a pretty solid job in midfield. Hope it's nothing serious. The difference between the two teams could be seen on the benches. Bringing on Mayuka to chase a game shows our lack of depth that the big teams have. Today was Tadic's worst performance in a Saints shirt. I really like him but he was dreadful today. Stil, we have a game coming up quickly to make amends, no suspensions and we'll probably still be in the top four at the end of the week. Arsenal and United are there for the taking. City were just too good today.
  22. That's an odd spread of teams... How did that happen!?

These are our sky ones up to end of Feb I believe... http://www1.skysports.com/watch/football-on-sky/teams/southampton
  24. He has a goal and three assists so far doesn't he? Not that bad.
  25. Desperately missed Steven Davis today. Our play seemed far to slow and he is so good at moving the ball quickly. Mane, Tadic and Pelle poor. Fonte and Toby brilliant again. Beat City and this is a point gained
