We looked so much more creative in the first half against Chelsea, I'm shocked he hasn't kept Long and Mané up front. And Tadíc has to play for me, even if he's off form we don't have another player able to pick that final pass.

I'm not putting too much store by those quotes. The bloke basically lists all of the players who are out on loan and says they're doing well. I would be very surprised if they were all there next season though.

That reminded me of the Liecester home game. We were the better side but unable to create anything clear cut. Difference on that occasion was the fact we could bring on Shane Long who promptly grabbed a brace. Bit concerned by our lack of goals, but defensively we are awesome, especially when you take into account the fact we haven't really had a settled back 4 due to injuries. What an incredible boost it would be to have Jay back for the run in.

We shouldn't be looking at buying "back up" players, whenever we fork out money for a player they should be first choice a la Forster. Whether you like it or not, the philosophy of the club is to bring through youth players and they have to be the back up option. For example yes, it would have been great if the Sniejder rumours had come to fruition, but in the end there's surely much more pleasure in seeing Harry Reed come into the team and do so well? There is for me anyway. Also for those saying Gallagher isn't ready, I'd much rather see him leading the line than some random journeyman striker. I think just because we are where we are in the league that we shouldn't forget the values that got us this far.

Sometimes you have to credit the other team - Palace were the better side and deserved to win. Well done Pardew, out though Koeman today. That's much more satisfying than going out limply as we did last year. If we beat Swansea we'll all forget about this, and then Schniederlin, Wanyama and Toby will be back. Still the best season of my lifetime!

If we qualify for Europe we will need all of these players, and people like Cork will so much more game time
