  1. It should have been sorted weeks ago though. I know Saints fans who like to plan their summer holidays around watching the away preseason fixtures - who is going to be able to go with less than a week's notice?
  2. Him and Richards from City would be shrewd. So many players who retire early from the game by joining a big club tend to excel once they leave - Scott Parker after Chelsea springs to mind. Young, English and with something to prove. Only stumbling block might be wages. Some of those teams listed will pay more than we will.
  3. It all seems very last minute and poorly organised.
  4. So just over £6.25m (ish). Great bit of business if true - and top negotiating on our part.
  5. Markus Liebherr was a very private man who shunned the limelight, hence why we aren't allowed the banner. He wouldn't want a stand named after him in my opinion.
  6. Yeah who needs 10 outfield players eh?
  7. Marshall is a really good keeper but I'd still rather get Forster, would probably be available at a similar price too. I can't see us mugging them off to the extent that they would take Gazzaniga!
  8. Thanks for the info. I suppose Pelle's age is against him in terms of value vs Bony.
  9. SSN journalist who seems to have become very suddenly clued up on everything Saints. Ralph's version of Jim White? First choice Ralph has made better than Nicola!
  10. Hart Johnson - Jagielka - Cahill - Baines Henderson - Gerrard Sterling - Rooney - Lallana Sturridge That's the team I'd like to see, don't think Barkley is a starter yet. To be fair Welbeck played pretty well the other night but I think Lallana brings just as much defensively but adds a bit more invention going forward. That also leaves plenty of pace on the bench in Barkley and AOC.
  11. I'm excited about Koeman. Other managers I was excited about: Redknapp, Burley. Managers I was underwhelmed by: Adkins, Pochettino. **** it get Bruce in after all.
  12. Got a strange and hopeful feeling that it could be Frank de Boer after watching Les' interview. Also agree with people who are saying it could be someone completely left field.
  13. This has been probably been discussed somewhere in the last 59 pages - but does anyone know what Koeman is like with regards to blooding/supporting youth?
  14. Any idea on which journo that is? Although it's rare for the telegraph to tweet without a certain degree of confidence in what they're saying.
  15. Thanks for sharing. All interesting stuff. Nice for an ITKer to just share info with no bull**** or bravado. Out of interest, does your source know (and therefore condone) what you post on here? I only ask as you mention not being able to discuss Shaw.
  16. Very emotional. Good luck Rickie.
  17. Really sad day. Don't get me wrong I'm happy for Rickie, I know that pool are the only team he would leave for, but the bloke is a hero of mine, and I was sure of everyone, he'd be here next season. Good luck Rickie.
  18. Give it to Lallana if he stays.
  19. Anyone have any idea on Liverpool fans view of this? Seems a very odd signing for them to make - I would be pretty underwhelmed tbh.
  20. Bits and pieces on twitter suggesting we're looking to replace him with Eto'o.
  21. I can't believe this. Not Rickie. Please.
  22. I think Benitez would be my top choice, though granted it would be unlikely. But as the post above says, he won't get a better team in this league if he really does want to come back. He is the only name who I think would make the likes of Lallana and the others think twice about leaving. He has the pedigree. But would he be happy working in our structure? Yakin looks good but I genuinely knew nothing about him before two days ago, and I agree that Moyes would be a good appointment, though I'd be concerned about our style of play. And again, think he'd be concerned about the lack of control he'd have as 'a department head'. Koeman - see Yakin. Don't really know enough to comment. Lennon seems like a *****. Clement would be decent, especially if we can do some deals with Real Madrid for some fringe players!
  23. Shaw. He has more to gain by staying and plenty of time to move on to bigger things. Lallana has given everything for this club and at 26, needs to test himself on the top stage.
