I agree that it would be only good to expand when we are firmly a Premier League team again. It would cost roughly the same amount to expand the capacity to around 50,000 as it did to build the ground in the first place.

Last night, the pub was full of Pompey fans. The pub is a few miles outside Winchester, and I go to it a few times a week, it's me local, but I had never seen half the skates in there before in my life. One was alright, we talked about the game, he said he felt sorry for us as it wasn't a scoreline that reflected the game, and Pompey were actually lucky on the break. We bossed the game for an hour, you know, all the stuff we already know. He was decent. At the bar some people started shouting "Play up Pompey" and I said to my mate "Cor, have I stepped into Gosport, where have all these skates come from" and this random bloke starts mouthing off at me, "if you don't f*cking like it that we're f*cking Pompey, then go and find another f*cking pub". I've never seen this bloke before in my life. It's people like him, and fans like him, that make me hope they die a horrible death on March 1st in front of the High Court. Before I was going down the 'hope they survive because of the rivalry' route but now, after meeting blokes like him, and a few nasty verbal exchanges in Block 1 with a few of them, I hope they go out of business forever. I will never console a skate.

Was talking to a very drunk skate in the pub tonight and he said we should not be ashamed, we bossed the game for 70 mins and could have won. He would have taken a draw. He was decent and generous in his praise for us, but then revealed he has John W******d's autograph which somewhat devalued the whole conversation.

Thought he gave 100% and then somehow gave even more. Had a terrific game, unlucky not to score; James is the best keeper I seen at SMS for a long time, although I hate to say it.

When I was near the car place, there was some bloke with his kid who can't have been older than about 12 years old. This bloke was giving a running commentary on the proceedings. "They are the older heads up front" "That's the youth lot there" "The youth are now going to go round and try and flank them"... It was very surreal!!

David James, 89th minute, with the game at 0-0 Lallana is through on goal, he expertly takes it round James but James clumsily clatters him, giving away a penalty. Lambert coolly slots the ball home.
