In the next month, our astronomy club is going to 'flash the ISS' as it passes overhead. A more elaborate version of this - - but with us mapping out a strobing arrow effect instead of just a point of light using several floodlight stations 5 miles apart. Will be filmed from those on board the ISS and covered by National Geographic later this year. Geeky fun!

I'm using 4oD, but the video is very jumpy (sound is fine). Internet connection is fast enough (iplayer is no problem). Any idea how to improve? Codecs etc?

The NFC North is quite interesting with only one team able to qualify from the Bears, Packers and Lions. The latter narrowly lost at home to the Ravens last night throwing the group wide open with the winner likely to come from the last game - Bears vs Packers. I'm rooting for the Packers as it's my son's team but (even with Rogers back) they're unlikely to last too far into the playoffs, if they make it.

I can't imagine watching it on a laptop. Needs a massive screen. Hobbit Smaug is a great improvement on the first part involving better characters and locations and is all round less 'muppety'. Thankfully Orlando bloom is kept to a minimum too. A Hijacking Danish attempt at 'Capt Philips' using real hijacked ship and captives as actors. Brilliant drama, gritty, not a trace of Hollywood in this.

Never did turn up did it? NBC need to sort it out. This is basic stuff! I was able to watch the Chelsea Saints game yesterday on replay but I was not paying attention to when it actually showed up after the game as a 'replay'. I might have to watch this at low volume at work tomorrow...
