A thread of helpful things for expats
LVSaint replied to norwaysaint's topic in Overseas Saints / Supporters Groups
I'm using Hola add-on for Firefox and it works a treat at unblocking the once impenetrable iplayer geoblock. Very easy to use. (Am about to start HIG(a bit more)NFY right now.) This comes as good timing because they recently closed thebox.bz for UK torrents which was a brilliant community of virtually everything on UK TV. Can still download MOTD but it takes three times as long. Tune-In is a great smart phone app! -
Yes - tzatziki and baba ganoush as well.

The Top Ten Conspiracy Theories - If You Believed One Of Them
LVSaint replied to Gemmel's topic in The Lounge
I thought the consensus was that he was a pretty lousy shot with an appropriately lousy rifle? -
ROY- If I was England manager 15 years ago, I'd have picked Le Tissier you know..
-
Boardwalk Empire - like a fine wine Homeland - um....Blue Nun.
-
Yep, great old man with a lot of knowledge. Was lucky enough to catch his tour last summer.
-
It's the pompous Paris, Londons and Milans I hear from time to time that make me want to spew. Classy. I bet there are some Brixtons, Croydons and Toxteths out there too, I hope there are.
-
It'll be on at 7am and will be live on telly - NBC Sports Live Extra. But it'll be tricky to get the game as 5 other games share the k/o time. Find English/Irish bars in the area and call them to see if they'll tune in to our game. Not sure there are any Phoenix based Saints on here to give you more advice?

Ohh love z bit of Dreadzone. Not sure it's better than their old stuff though. Second light was great.

Same shit different day, that's mine. Exsqueeze me instead of Excuse me, and wank you very much.

Haven't been to as many games as most on here, but one that springs to mind was at home to Blackburn 98/99 season. We were 3-1 down and staged a comeback, Pahars comes on and makes it 3-3 on 85 mins. The Dell went looney. I think we almost won it with a Le Tiss stunner. Blackburn went down at the end of the season.

Fox will reclaim the rights I'm sure, if NBC throws in the towel - which I most certainly hope they do not! The trade off is that we will get SSN back, which I really miss. On a tangent - I am particularly happy this week as I have the beeb iplayer working flawlessly on my computer. No tricky proxies either. If not already done so, I suggest every expat download a magical little Firefox plug-in called 'Hola'. this is a geoblock bypass program. Then click this link - http://client.hola.org/be_client_cgi/?hscript=17684e04b03ea212&sites=bbc&utm_referer=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.facebook.com%2Fl.php%3Fu%3Dhttp%3A%2F%2Fhola.org%2Funblocker%3Fhscript%3D17684e04b03ea212%26sites%3Dbbc%26h%3DVAQFDWuy6AQHPuWZTXRlH0FPaj9bgNGCOcAgnorSthsctTg%26s%3D1&uuid=5f751b29d8e546bc98f1dce041146592 This link automatically unlocks the iplayer geoblock. Done. Easy peasy. On another side note - if anyone knows a decent alternative British tv torrent community, please let me know. thebox.bz recently shut down (or moved and kicked the majority of users off). This was a brilliant source of UK programming - and an especially efficient MOTD download source. Sure, MOTD is out there for download elsewhere, but it's nowhere near quick enough to download to watch on the Saturday evening.

Twin Peaks and Firefly. Should be on everyone's bucket list. Both cut short though.

It's magnificent and I'd highly recommend reading the books at the same time as it gives even more insight to the plot and characters as you go. You can get the beer too...
-
Gravity is stunning. Saw it in 2D but imagine that 3D or better still, IMAX, would be ****ing incredible. All the more enhanced by the cinema I was watching it in - electric leather recliners and beer. I think I'm going to watch it again...
-
first few seasons of Dexter for sure. And if you have not tried these... Deadwood GOT Boardwalk Empire ..do 'em!
-
She gets to the next base in the next episode... This aside, been rather uninspiring so far.

It appears that this weekend's game verses Swansea will be the first only available via the online stream (for those with DTV at least). Watched soem of the Everton vs Newcastle game via NBC online at work today and I must say the quality is excellent. Now to find a cable to hook up my laptop to the TV...

Can confirm correctness. 'Tis my middle name afterall...

In a similar vein, I've subbed out Cech and put Boruc in for this one.

Finished watching the third and probably final season of Luther. All a bit far fetched towards the end but enjoyable and engrossing nonetheless. Boardwalk Empire is back. A few episodes left of Broadchurch with David Tennant as Scottish cop investigating seaside town murder, very good. (Fox have announced a US remake...oh dear...) Watched one episode of Parades End. Pretty decent bit of period drama with excellent cast.
