Finished watching Sherlock series 3. It's still a very well put together show, entertaining and the two leads are great to watch together. But I'm getting a bit frustrated by the overall smugness of the creators - Gatiss and Moffat. It's become far too pleased with itself and has detracted quite far from the excellent first two seasons. (Moffat IMO, has always shown great promise - his individual Doctor Who episodes he wrote in the Tennant years - Blink, Girl in the Fireplace, Silence in the Library, etc. But once he took the reins of the whole thing, the show got a bit up it's own arse and repetitive.) Walking Dead starts this weekend. Another series that's loosing it.... When does Game Of Thrones start back up?

I'd have preferred to see a talented £15m Italian international banging them in, but each to their own.

Unfortunately, as you know, NBC digital channels including Extra Time channels and NBCSports require a higher tier (with DTV anyway). Costs $72 just for the package, then other fees including HD, Tivo etc, my bill is over $100 without any movie packages. HBO costs $18 now! NBC online feeds need verification of your cable/sat subscription to login unfortunately. I do not see any way around it. Anyone else have any input?

Saw Capt Philips the other day. Great thriller. Seems the real captain was a bit of a git though and not quite the 'hero' Hanks portrayed.

Yeah, by noon I've usually scanned through a couple of other games but it's a nice bit of 'home' watching motd on a sat night! Can't really comment on soccer bars, i know some decent craft beer ones. I only venture as far as the Crown an' Wanchor for TV games. I wonder if the bigger sports books (big) screen all the live nbc games simultaneously? That would be cool!

Anyone download MOTD (bbc) for Saturday night? Easier for us on pst as the downloads aren't usually complete until late evening (for me anyway). The US highlights shows are a bit meh aren't they.

In the next month, our astronomy club is going to 'flash the ISS' as it passes overhead. A more elaborate version of this - - but with us mapping out a strobing arrow effect instead of just a point of light using several floodlight stations 5 miles apart. Will be filmed from those on board the ISS and covered by National Geographic later this year. Geeky fun!

I'm using 4oD, but the video is very jumpy (sound is fine). Internet connection is fast enough (iplayer is no problem). Any idea how to improve? Codecs etc?
