  1. Some of my celebratory footage - not the goals. The atmosphere was ten times better 20 seconds earlier, but who had the time or the capacity to film?! 1st
  2. 1:30 is just right though isn't it. 7am is for the birds although I'll probably still be up at 5am if my lingering jetlag has anything to do with it. Was watching the recorded City game this morning and was reminded that I need an upgrade to a better tv and HD! For anyone with Directv HD, is it nice?
  3. Ah **** it, it's every week now isn't it! Happy days.
  4. Probably my one and only game this season and it was a blast. Fantastic eruption of emotion especially when the second went in. Nice stadium - smaller than I was expecting, especially quiet home fans IMO. Enjoyed our ****take Poznan. I want more...
  5. Stratford station is going to be fun. Magnificent views of the stadium throughout. Good job.
  6. LOL! Glad you were able to hook up a proxy for iPlayer. I'm thankfully in Blighty right now, soaking up the Beeb's proper coverage. Let me know if you want a copy of the BBC opening ceremony, I had to download it after watching NBC's abortion of it a couple of weeks ago. Even their studio work from so-called professionals has been cringeworthy and utter poo. Been fruitlessly trying for Olympic park event/access tix these last few days. No luck. Am going into London tomorrow anyway and will go to Statford and hopefully get some nice vantage points of the park. Might head down to Hyde park for Mo's attempt at the 5000 too. Got to make the most of this glorious weather while I can.
  7. Is anyone trying for tickets on general sale? Supposed to be available now, the website has ****ed up . No surprise.
  8. Thanks. What time in the morning do they usually start taking online orders?
  9. Poor sod, I can't even start to imagine the emotional upset he's experiencing right now.
  10. When does this go on general sale, the website doesn't say.
  11. Almost went tonight. Saw £50 athletics tix last night for the evening slot but also that it was forecast to rain all evening. Don't think it rained at all did it? Hope I get another shot before it ends... Do you know what the situation is for stand alone park pass? Prob massive queues?
  12. ****sticks, has this sold out already? Steady on people, there are loads of games this season. FFS. Looking for 4 tix together (or minimum of 2) if anyone is looking to sell. Will be able to meet Soton/Surrey/Oxfordshire/London areas, cash in hand from next week onwards.
  13. I know the transport situation is probably fine, it was more whether the museums and other stuff that I wanted to do, would be even more chaotic 'cos of the games...? Any London residents/commuters give me an idea?
  14. I'm flying in to Heathrow on Saturday - nothing to do with the Olympics, it just happened to coincide. I was planning on giving London a wide berth till after the games as there are things and places I want to go without getting stuck in crowds. But the atmos of being in town amidst it all sounds quite appealing. I never even gave tickets a thought but what with the shambles on empty seats and you say you bought the same day, how would I go about trying to attend? What events are there tickets available for?
  15. Are you signed up with thebox.bz torrent site? They have (3gb) regular and (10gb) HD versions of the BBC feed, which whilst not perfect, is much better than the horrible chopped up NBC version we got on Friday night. (You can probably get the BBC version at many other places though)
  16. This has really ****ed me off Rut. They changed the schedules several weeks ago and I Hope if switches back when the season starts. Was also getting used to having Sky News every day, binned that an' all.
  17. Amazing. Could have omitted a few things - tosser rapper, few other gay bits, and McCartney, but overall rather stunning.
  18. Beer Wars on Netflix. As if we needed any more reasons to loath Bud/Miller/Coors. Some nice insight into some of the brilliant and numerous independent microbreweries here in the States.
  19. The Florida one has double D's.
  20. He said "pull out of Scott Dann." heh!
  21. You'll find kids, toddlers, babies at all manner of films. It's fairly normal to watch a film involving rape, murder or swearing with a baby screaming in the row behind you.
  22. **** you!
  23. How else are you supposed to defend against a gun? Look, I loath the vile things, don't get me wrong, but when you have millions of them in circulation because of ****ed up laws stemming from the birth of the country....? It's a horrible situation with no real solution IMO. The availability of semi-automatics though is unbelievably ridiculous. I don't know Baj, you could be right. What would you do?
  24. Pretty sure they are staggeringly higher here in the States. It's a sad state of affairs, and these things are going to happen. And you can't really disarm a country where it's been a right to carry a gun for centuries. There are too many of them in circulation, many in the wrong hands, how can you tell someone they have no right to defend themselves. It is pitiful.
  25. Not at all. In fact it's very much the opposite as the ****e breweries (Busch, Coors, Miller, etc) have a 'special' understanding with the casinos/clubs/pubs to push their mass produced cack exclusively. The visiting punters in Vegas have no discerning taste....they're here to gamble and get drunk on whatever flows. There are a few microbreweries in town. (Actually off to a beer fest this weekend.) And plenty in Southern CA and obviously up the pacific NW. This means there is a lot of bottle choices in the offies here. A lot of them are fairly cheap and good, but the better ones are pricier, as you say.
