  1. no, no, Long has now scored one goal in 11 months so MP will want to keep his run going while he is on a hot streak. Gabbiadini will understand
  2. He'll get his chance next year. You can work out why I'm sure.
  3. That’s for sure. He’s turning into Patrick Berger.
  4. Jamie Carragher had him sussed a couple of weeks ago on Sky when he analysed his performances for us. He never dud anything obvious but there was a distinct lack of effort. ****.
  5. “We work as a unit but results are part of life and when we play a game you have to be ready to lose. If not don’t play.” oh oh we are certainly ready to lose under you ! What a bloody stupid statement from our glorious manager
  6. He is almost certain to play Redmond
  7. you of course stay to the very end of every single match no matter what the score - Leicester for example ?
  8. those quotes are from his address to us peasants yesterday morning.
  9. I’m absolutely sick and tired of some clever bugger coming on here and blaming the supporters. Last night at half time the team were clapped off, they were leading and had done ok, not brilliant but ok. Now, second half, it wasn’t me or any single fan in that ground that told them to drop deeper, pass the ball sideways and backwards and basically forget about attacking. It wasn’t one single fan decided to make a nothing substitution when the away manager made pro-active changes. It wasn’t the supporters who were clueless about what to do out on that pitch. If it had been a one off performance or had the players given everything the fans would have stayed with them. But it wasn’t a one off, they didn’t give everything and most people in that ground could see what was coming as it has so often this season. So if you want to point the finger point it towards the pitch, the touchline and the directors box. Don’t point it at the loyal supporters who still turn up and watch this crap.
  10. I’m sorry Ralph, as a supporter I permitted you, Les and co to raise my expectations of what to expect from Southampton FC. I believed your words about progression, competing for Europe annually and hoping to break into a Champions League spot. I believed your line about striving for excellence and always getting better. How was I to know that one wet and miserable day in early January 2018 you would pull the rug from under me and tell me we are a small club who can’t compete and are just looking to stay in the Premier League. You have dumped me back into the time I was a kid, growing up and watching Saints struggle and perform some great last day escapes. You told me that was a thing of the past and now you say, well actually, yeah, that’s your lot. You lied to me Ralph........you bastard.
  11. even with the most optimistic hat on I cannot see how the hell we are getting enough points to survive out of those fixtures.
  12. He did ok last night. I had to laugh cos at one point during all the tappy tappy sideways passing in defence on an increasingly dodgy surface he actually pointed to where the goal we were attacking was. This was ultimately ignored as the midfield then took over the tappy tappy sideways role.
  13. The best action would be for nobody to go, have the away end completely empty. Wont happen of course but would look bloody effective.
  14. He stated that MP doesn’t make excuses......uh, he does, he blames everything bar his crazy team selections when we lose. If RK thinks we have a fantastic group of players he must have had one hell of a secret Santa present at this years Xmas party off one of them ! As stated elsewhere where has this “small club” mantra come from all of a sudden ? I think after hearing that he is deluded. God help us if we lose tonight cos MP ain’t going anywhere.
  15. Funny you should say that but it often looks to me like Forster does similar when he kicks the ball......of course it might just be a defence mechanism to hide the fact its usually a ****e kick
  16. George Lawrence
  17. everyone was too busy giving Mike Dean their New Year best wishes
  18. kind of suggests he isn’t a Southampton player, 100%, as per the Gooner on Twitter.
  19. Be interesting to see if Theo features in the Arsenal line-up today
  20. Unless Bertrand is fit.
  21. That was my first thought, on the one occasion he could have gone down with justification he stays on his feet. Very strange
  22. no ? Shock, horror......he would have seen it had it been the other way round
  23. Excellent point and a clean sheet. I presume the manager won’t drop McCarthy after this.......will he ?
  24. This should be enough to earn McCarthy a run in the team surely ? I mean coming out to collect a corner !! That sort of thing gives defenders confidence.
  25. Keeping him fresh for Palace
