he showed a fair bit of inexperience in some situations last season yes and the strikers did manage to get away from him at crucial moments but he can improve that aspect of his game and learn from it. Having a central defender as his new manager won't hurt and hopefully he can learn from one more season of VVD.

Same with a left back if Bertrand does go. Would make a change to sign someone before we let a player leave, just for a change, Austin for Pelle (supposedly) excluded.

Take a look at his coaching record and the calibre of clubs he's been at and done nothing even remotely successful. He must have thought he was dreaming when a Prem team who had just finished 6th came calling.
