The fact the club made it public sends out alarm bells for me cos they never do that. I think it was either a smokescreen or an attempt to apease the fans so they can then turn round when he goes to Everton and say "we tried but couldnt match his wages" Obviously with £75 million in the bank matching anyones wages would be a major issue......
