Puel Sacked? - As Reported by Crook of Sh*t
beatlesaint replied to Ivan Katalinic's 'tache's topic in The Saints
easy to have a little dig when you haven't been subjected to some absolute boring, negative and most importantly losing football this season watching from the stands at St Mary's with most people around you of the same mindset. -
Why does the club fall apart every summer ?
beatlesaint replied to alpine_saint's topic in The Saints
Absolutely - quite often its people's perception of whats going on rather than what is actually going on that makes it seem like "the club falls apart every summer". There are moans if the kit isnt announced by a certain date, if a signing isnt made by a certain date blah blah blah. FFS give them some credit, the ride we have been on since 2009 has been terrific. They have made what ? one major error with Puel - who got us to a Cup Final - oh and the "cant keep hold of our players" thing but who can ? Even Chelsea are rumoured to lose Hazard, before him it was Costa. Its the way of the world of football now unfortunately. It's not Southampton's fault that every players contract virtually means **** all, we arent the only ones ! -
thats for sure
-
Oh that will make a change !
-
yes, be very interesting to know just how much Liverpool still owe us. No doubt they will be happy to put VVD on the tab as well
-
We dont want Monopoly cheats at the club, kick him out, disgusting
-
completely different style of play in France to here though isn't it. They won't mind 70 passes sideways and back to get nowhere.
-
No it doesnt, if you read it the penny has dropped that if he is worth £50 million this summer he will be worth at least that, almost definitely more, next summer. The article, and presumably because of it, the club, are clearly looking at a Morgan situation, ie give us one more year then you can go. Whether that happens or not remains to be seen of course.

Normally I would agree with you BUT when was the last time the club's paying customers chanted "you don't know what you're doing" at, as well as booing the manager ? It certainly hasn't happened since the Liebherr takeover of the club so it's a fair bet to say the club have been stung a little by that.....add to which their struggle to stay awake during home matches as most of us were bored into submission. Sometimes there is more to a decision being made than the cold hard facts of a Cup Final and 8th in the League which we all know is a false position - 46 points averages 14/15th place. We still don't know for sure if there is player unrest about the manager and/or his assistant, you can be sure the board know however. This club do not do things by knee jerk reaction. Many things would have been taken into consideration IF they have relieved him of his job.

Pity he didnt take his own advice then.....
-
he really must, Everton fans are in for a wonderful surprise when they watch his unique take on defending
-
in a nutshell this - if wanting to be entertained and see my team win and score goals makes me deluded then I'm happy with that tag.
-
You must be mistaken, Redmond hardly blamed him for anything yesterday
-
Bertrand has had a face like a smacked arse for most of the season. If this is another one of the player goes or the manager goes options and possibilities then dear Lord please send the French guy home.
-
If you lose the fanbase, or a large percentage of them, if you cant get a word of support from your Chairman and/or if your players are not particularly enamoured with you or the system you are trying to get them to play then you are on a hiding to nothing.

SWEEPSTAKE ALERT - Puel departure announcement timing - all welcome

Totally agree -
SWEEPSTAKE ALERT - Puel departure announcement timing - all welcome

If there hasn't been an announcement by 6 pm Thursday he is staying IMHO -
Thats quite a major blip with the system then, not helped by putting all the pressure on the lone striker and the inability of the creative midfielders....or any midfielders come to that to score a goal on even a semi regular basis. I'm glad you refrained from using the word "quick" anywhere in that description of our playing style
-
But 15 points difference, why can't you see that ?
-
thats my main concern and why I'm not sure he is on his way out.
-
well if that's the way Kruger, Reed and co see it then Puel's revue with the board tomorrow won't last very long.
-
as opposed to previous seasons when they all went round together, did their hand holding and cheering in front of The Northam only for half of them to **** of within a month ? It meant nothing.
-
Think it's harsh to say McCarthy and Pied have been a failure when they have had long term injuries.
-
This without a doubt, wonderful few minutes that was. Aside from that Milan at home.
