Good luck and welcome. Pleased to see Dave Watson has penned a new deal too !
-
If he came back it would be like having to admit he made a mistake in leaving. Not many people are up for doing that, least of all a professional footballer !
-
not many have written him off to be fair, he sounds ok, personally not what I expected but I like the idea of going back to the high intensity pressing game. you can't deny however much icing you want to put on the cake that his record is patchy and it is limited to an average French League. Doesn't mean he won't be any good however but I can see why some are underwhelmed especially after the club bigging up us taking the next step up to Champions League in the next five year plan.

Im open to what Puel will bring, I quite like the sound if him, it's Black that worries me.
-
Black's CV makes Sammy Lee look like a footballing God ! Assistant to Steve Keane at Blackburn for a start, startling record at Rotherham, Wigan, John Barnes disaster at Celtic to name but three others. Doesn't compare with Sammy Lee with England, Liverpool and Saints does it ?
-
Think you you need to look up his CV........nothing breath taking about it whatsoever!
-
So does Michel Roux Jnr but he's not much of a football coach either.......
-
oh dear :-( no Sammy Lee is he ?
-
ITK or law of averages guesswork ?
-
oh could be !
-
The only thing that puzzles and worries me a little about the Puel appointment is the fact that other candidates were seemingly discarded if they hadn't had experience of managing in more than one league and this guy has only managed in France.
-
It clearly means Claude has finished second in a one horse race and has been pipped to the post as Saints new manager by an unknown candidate !!
-
Since when ? He puts the odd phrase in to suggest so whilst the general tone of his articles about Saints tell of impending doom, meltdowns and disaster !
-
Yes, can we please not have the club issuing statements until things are done and dusted.....or keep Les away from the cameras at least
-
Has he gone or was that just a random tweet ?
-
This is so bad it's almost funny now !

Thats the image of the club some of us have as Saints supporters too Duncan and quite frankly there isnt much evidence to suggest otherwise. Mane had two years left, why for heavens sake didnt they do what they did with Vic and Morgan and tell him he would stay until the last year of the contract ? Ok they wouldnt have got £36 million for him next summer BUT if more than one club were interested they might have got £20 million and if mane staying was the difference between finishing 7th or 15th for arguments sake there is the transfer fee shortfall right there ! -

This 100% -
yes haven't seen much wrong with him as yet.
-
Classy message from Big Vic. Whether it's bull**** or not we have on one side him, Rickie, Morgan and Luke Shaw doing it the right way. on the other side we have Koeman, Lallana and Lovren......
-
yeah i tend to agree, nothing to stop a contract dated 1 July being signed and the announcement made beforehand. Perhaps that will happen, maybe hes gone away on holiday although we do have issues when managers go away on holiday :-(
-
He is indeed but the fact they want to speak to others and extend it by another week suggests they arent entirely convinced/happy which again harks back to Guan's post as mentioned earlier. Totally agree about endorsing the clubs view that this is an important appointment, nobody can dispute that.
