Tottenham build up thread ...a question posed
beatlesaint replied to Yorkshire Saint's topic in The Saints
I would be amazed if the authorities don't look at that game pretty quickly, some if it was X rated. Dembele should get a ban for his attack on Costa and yes Dier should be done for that challenge, then there was the stamp on Fabregas too. Disgraceful, they will definitely get a fine for failure to control their players. -
Absolutely superb story, gives us all hope and as has been said is one in the eye for the big teams

Dembele might not be facing us either, that was far worse than last weeks incident......mind you it was Costa so perhaps he'll get away with it !!

Tottenham build up thread ...a question posed

Ideally Spurs win tonight, Leicester beat Everton Saturday night to win the league and Spuds are devastated when they play us less than 24 hrs later and don't give a toss Will be a tough match whatever but if WBA can get a draw there bloody sure we can win playing well. -
Players like him never do though, unless of course you are talking Messi and Ronaldo. His number of assists and goals this season for the games played isn't too shabby to be fair to him.
-
pin drop time wasn't it ? Not a note of Chas and Dave and their chirpy cockney singalongs
-
thats true BUT they havent beaten us twice !
-
with two of the more difficult games to come to keep that record going I think your timing of raising that is poor I just hope man City are still very much in with a shout for their second leg Champions League Semi and that a leicester win over Everton 7 May will totally deflate Spuds for our visit !
-
It never occurred to me at the time but yeah, **** em, that day at Highbury in '84 is one defeat I have never come to terms with, relegations, other semi final defeats, I have well and truly gotten over......but not that game. what goes around.......
-
This. Even in the glory years of the early 80"s when we were magnificent at The Dell it was a different story once they got on a coach and left Hampshire. if we win more than four or five away in a top flight season then it's a good record for Southampton. Having said that, yes Ron needs to drop Pelle and Tadic away from home and play players who can make us quick on the counter attack.

I suspect Saints are as fed up with the whole thing as the supporters ! So, 4.30, final answer or will it change to 4.37 just so Sky can fit in a bit more of Jamie Carragher talking horse **** ?
-
No it was 4.00, just checked, im sure those 15 mins will make the world of difference
-
it was going to be 4.00 wasnt it ? why the 15 minute time delay ? that is just plain bloody stupid !
-
That's hilarious, what a cock.
-
Good find, that's it then, if Man City are playing Tuesday 3 May in Champions League our game will be 5.30 Saturday evening. If they are playing Wednesday 4 May it will stay as Sunday at 4.00 !
-
Could be, we will know after Friday's draw. To be honest if Sky still want to show the game then because of the scheduling of other matches for TV it might not even be played that weekend, could end up a midweek game during the week of 8th May ? im pretty sure Sky and BT cannot show Prem matches at the same time and Sky have another game scheduled for Saturday 30th as do BT, one at lunchtime and one at 5.30.
-
yeah, who would have thought we would have an interest in the Champions League semi final draw

Produced by 442 Sports in Andover, do they use a skate printer then ? I thought the club had changed printers, hence the bigger magazine for the past couple of years.

Tadanari Lee - most overrated Saints player ever?
beatlesaint replied to St Lej's topic in The Saints
To answer your question seriously I dont believe he was our most overrated player ever. To me he looked quite useful, i know everyone talks about the goal against Derby as his finest moment but I remember his contribution against Barnsley the same season. Then he got injured, dropped out of favour and that was that. Who knows what might have happened but for that injury. Shame really. -
thats right I forgot the anonymous letter and coin throwing act. Makes me shudder still to think of those days but my point is/was Lawrie showed how much during that period the club meant to him. Being of a certain age he will always be a hero to me.

It was the AGM after Lowe had come back to replace Wilde and co.and we had those two Dutch coaches in charge, for want of a better word. Crouch, McMenemy and many supporters all fired questions at Lowe that as per were just butted back with floaty non commital answers except for as many digs as he could get in at the Wilde regime. Incredibly some shareholders were still supportive of Lowe but it got to a point, and I can't remember now for the life of me what triggered it, but Crouch stood up, had a real go at Lowe, and walked out, followed by Lawrie, Mary Corbett and many others leaving just a few shareholders left. Cant remember what happened next exactly, I do recall many of the staff at the time coming up to Crouch and Lawrie almost pleading with them to do something to get Lowe out once and for all. Bad bad days, will be amazed if it's not in the book in some form. I have a feeling it was at the time Lowe replaced a picture of the cup winning team in the boardroom with a picture of a train, I know that ****ed off Lawrie big time.
-
Couldnt agree more. Can never understand people who slag him off, as you say comes across as a thoroughly decent man as well. Be be interesting if he says much about Lowe, I well remember Lowe's last ever AGM where Lawrie, Leon Crouch, Mary Corbett et al staged a walk out half way through in disgust. Those were the days, more drama and misery than in an episode of Eastenders!!

What questions are those then ? Prey tell......
