The gifting of a point to Fulham and the total capitulation against West Ham has started me to waver in my support I must admit. He has not helped himself with some of the team selections and whilst individual mistakes cannot be laid at his door the complete shambolic defending as a unit most certainly can be put down to the coaching staff. I would keep him a little longer with more hope than expectation that he pulls things round. I hpe he does for his sake as well as ours, but my confidence has certainly been knocked a bit.

even though the players dont look comfortable with it and we aren't very good playing it. Oh well, back to The Championship we go.......
-
So is the idea of plauing 4-4-2 next week such a bad idea ? It cant be any worse than this dreadful 4-3-3 experiment. Adam Blackmore on Solent said before a ball was kicked this season about changing formation and was it a wise thing to do first year back in Prem. The answer is a resounding NO !!
-
None of the three you mention have been in the starting 11 every week so your theory is doubtful.......hopefully !
-
I agree unfortunately, but he hasn't helped himself with tactics, team selection and substitutions.
-
Well he didnt strengthen sufficiently in the summer did he ? Bought in a young right back but after the Dutch left back deal fell through we decided not to find another one - why ? Bought in one centre back, not with Premiership experience mind you, and the one place you need Prem experience is in defence. We didnt have it and we aint bought any in either.
-
FWIW I agree, we have gotten to this Prem League too early. Last season was extraordinary. This season will be a nightmare, not helped by some strange team selections it has to be said. Easy to pick the same team every week when you are winning, not so easy when most of the squad are out of their depth.

you have made your point. you do realise you stopped being funny about 9 months ago dont you ?

Rickie Lambert is a better footballer than Guly, Jay Rod and Pucheon. Rickie Lambert is a better goalscorer than Guly, Jay Rod and Puncheon. Rickie Lambert is better defensively than Guly, Jay Rod and Puncheon. But he is on the bench and those three are not. I'm sure there is a fantastic reason for it and come 5.00 we will understand. I hope so cos at the moment its all beyond me.

Get done for drink driving ? Wander around aimlessly ? be the managers blue eyed boy ?

Dave Jones tonight Leeds v Sheff Wed SKY
beatlesaint replied to Horton Heath Saint's topic in The Saints
Thats how it came across to me i must admit. Typical Warnock, there was absolutely no reason to mention how Kirkland reacted. The most relevant point came from Dave Jones when he asked what would have happened if Kirkland wasnt able to continue after using all his subs etc etc -
Didnt you see the Wales v Scotland game then ?

This stuff about Chaplow's record is a complete myth. I think he has been sent off 2 or 3 times in his whole career, only once for us.
-
Its all about opinions isn't it cos for me he has been as bad as many have painted him. Sorry but I dont see him slowly adapting to the PL and niether does the manager. He was only playing last week because Clyne was injured, I'm sure of it. Did he help his cause last week ? Well look at Fulham's second goal for the answer. In two weeks time we play Spurs. Now do we seriously think Adkins will play him against Bale after last night ? It would be cruel.....on all of us, not just Fox. If Fox does play against Bale then I'm having a few quid on a big Spurs win with Gareth scoring a couple. He is just not up to it, sorry but sometimes these things need to be said.
-
He is certainly a threat to OUR goal, I'll give you that Look, the guys delivery from out wide is excellent most of the time, there is no getting away from that. As you show the stats support that. BUT he is a left back who simply cannot defend, his positional play is abysmal. So the only other place you could play him is left midfield....and we have a pretty good one of those. So as just cover for the left midfield spot then fine. Otherwise no way.....and he isnt in a 17 year old Bale's class either going forward or defending btw.

I would say so. The positive was that the young lady I bought mine from was extremely attractive and gave me a nice smile.....the negatives were I had to wait longer while all these other old gits tried to charm the pants off her, she had nowhere to put the programmes had it been raining, and some guy was forever giving her extra copies to hold....i mean whats the point of two people doing one persons (old) job ?
-
I feel more confident with him there than i did with Kelvin flapping like a big girls blouse.
-
Yeah, I have just read on the OS that he took Rickie off cos he wanted more pace up front. Obviously Mayuka and Guly are similar in terms of speed then
-
Sorry ? Am i missing the point here ? Living on his goal record ? Um, yeah, he is our top scorer in this league, as he was in the last two leagues we have been in. As has been said he is the talisman, the others look lost without him. Leave him on the ptich and if he gets his head onto the end of one of those corners at the end we win the game. With your logic Le Tissier would never have saved us from relegation year after year cos he would never have been on the pitch ! It was an awful substitution. If he was so desperate to introduce Guly, as he often is, then Jay Rod should have come off. Better still he should have left it as it was up front. A managerial error unfortunately. And the subs thing with NA is becoming a worry to be honest.
-
There aren't many of them about nowadays.....and those that are play for much bigger clubs than us.
-
I suppose if Gaston is out we will keep Jay Rod in the team, playing out of position again !!
-
Well like the club would listen to Merrington about a young player !! I mean he only bought through Le Tissier, Shearer, the Wallaces.........
-
Old Trafford I believe, not sure of the year tho. Yeah I think it needed a skin graft and was a very serious injury.
-
Exactly, and they have a contract with the printing company so they aren't going to tear that up after a few weeks. As usual people are jumping the gun, lets just see what they have come up with. Persoanlly I dont see the point of getting rid of programme sellers but hey I dont run the club !

Last time I saw him was at the AGM when the two Dutch blokes were in charge. He was sat just in front of me and asked a very sensible question of them about tactics. After a long meandering answer which made no sense at all he turned round to my mate and I and said "he didnt answer my bloody question did he ?" to which I replied "I dont think he understood it Mark !! "
