Kelvin Davis has always been an enigma for me. When he is good he is very good, but when he is off form he is very very poor. Its not knee jerk, its not looking for someone to blame, its a fact. Anyone who has watched Kelvion since he came here is more than aware of his good spell/bad spell periods. I doubt its a coincidence that his one season in the Prem at Sunderland was so horrific. Unless he is on top form he does not command the area, he rarely comes and claims croses and his near post defending is abysmal. Its almost like everything he knows goes out the window when he isnt on top of his game. He has been a great servant to us, he has had some fantastic spells of goalkeeping for us and by all accounts he is a top bloke BUT he has looked very poor so far this season and I cant believe Nigel as a former keeper himself hasn't noticed it. But until January its Kelvin or Gazza......and if we go for Gazza and he isn't ready then thats his confidence blown.

I hope all those with rose coloured glasses regarding the left side of our defence noticed that bloody great square they drew that showed just how much space is available to any attacking player who so wishes to use it !! Its so big it must almost qualify as a prairie !!

Make that the last two seasons. He was actually better in the Championship than he was in League 1 but with the Premiership being so ruthless it is a major concern. I wonder how many times he was beaten at his near post in his "nightmare" Premiership season for Sunderland ?

Ok, there 11 players are better than ours in every comparison this afternoon, so thats 22. They are at home this time and not away. Newcastle were/are better than us. We are not tactically aware enough to mount any sort of pressure. will that do ?

The only major mistake that I can think that Nigel has made was in the United game with those substitutions. Now wether he was naieve or had more faith in the players that came on than anyone else does I have no idea. But to take off your three best players on the day was a bad, bad move. They couldnt have all been knackered, and if they were then does that indicate the fitness levels aren't what they should be ? I cant say I have ever really noticed the players flagging at the end of games in the past two years under Nigel. I hope he has learnt somethig from that. The players, manager and most of the coaching staff are on a learning curve in this league. I hope NC remembers that before his trigger finger gets a bit itchy.

Its always gonna sell better than the one a few years back simply because we are a Premier League team now and that generates more interest (and sales) worldwide. The Japanese people wandering around St Marys in their new shirts being a case in point. Gates have gone up in 3 years, shirt sales will too. If its got the club badge on it people will buy it, and I believe thats whats happened this season. Doesnt make the kit popular though.

He is a centre forward. he has not played as a centre forward yet so it is impossible to judge. Thing is with Lambert proving already he will score goals in this league Jay Rod looks an expensive sub to me. I think if he continues to be plonked out on the left it will destroy his confidence cos he just isnt very good in that position. NA has had two chances to play him in his favoured position, against Man City from the start then again today as a straight swap for Rickie. He has not taken either.

So before the changes we had a big centre forward who was causing them all sorts of problems and two lively small tricky wingers each side of him who were doing the same. After the changes we had a small centre forward who never had the ball knocked in behind their centre backs for him to run onto and show his strength which is his pace and two playing out wide who are both big guys, one of whom is a centre forward and the other who is, umm, Guly, both of whom are niether lively or tricky !! So we changed the whole look and effectiveness of the front line ? Brilliant.

Isnt it about time the Fox defenders took off the rose coloured glasses a litle bit ? How many times, especially in the first half, did United launch their attacks down our left hand side ? They had clearly identified that we play with a left back who has no understanding of sticking to his man and believes giving them as much space and time as they need will hopefully confuse the hell out of them - it doesn't !! I sincerely hope I am wrong but I think Fox will become the biggest liability in our defence. He puts pressure on the centre backs by letting his winger/wide man get so much ball into the box cheaply. As has been said the number 3 shirt was not left free for no reason. Such a pity we couldnt bring one of our targets in. Fox wasn't convincing in The Championship and he certainly isn't convincing in The Premiership.

Totally agree. Last straw for me today with Guly. Came on and was totally pointless. Check out their second goal on TV for starters if you aren't convinced. The subs were a disaster. Mayuka has been signed for his pace yes ? So why didnt we knock the ball over Ferdinand and Vidic and let him chase the ball so play to his strength ? Jay Rod - whats the bloody point of putting him out wide ? He is a cente forward so if he comes on, for Rickie, bloody well play him there or leave him on the bench.

Isnt the whole point of "tweeting" to tell followers what you are doing or thinking at any one time ?
