He borders on genius sometimes doesn't he ?

He's got a job with them......well its about bloody time, he has been brown nosing for it for the past 3 years at least !

Was this the best goal ever scored by Saints?
beatlesaint replied to Son of Bob's topic in The Saints
He was and he almost qualifies as one of our un-sung heroes. Those who never saw him play have never really heard or seen much of him, which is a shame. Always remember those three hatricks he scored at The Dell back in the 79/80 season. -

I have no doubts at all - yes it was ! -
A very hard working but very limited full back. We have had worse by the way, much worse. He just wasnt blessed with the natural talent Danny and Rod had unfortunately.
-
Agree, not much in it player wise but I always thought Rod was slightly better.
-
I cant believe I am saying this but for the first time ever I actually agre with Charlie Wayman !!
-
I agree with everything you havent written on this one Duncan. Oakley was ok, nothing more, nothing less IMO. We have had better and we have had much much worse.

Rochdale haven't lost a league game since 10th December. It might not be a bad one to have to play later in the season cos they are on a hot streak at the moment.
-
How can you say that, are you in the stand looking at the pitch ?
-
Wasn't that back in Lawrie's day when Keegan, Channon etc were here ?

Eddie Mitchell Stirs The Pot Before Cherries Game

Thats the bit I do agree with him on. As of now its 2nd against 4th, TV always loves local derbies. I am amazed its not been picked for tv yet the Sheff Weds game has !! Strange. -
I would hope this confirms my earlier post Duncan :-)
-
excellent post Sir.
-
Very fair, I agree the unique goal celebration should get a mention. Could mention he was Markus's favourite player if you want to throw in some trivia :-)
-
The irony is Daren that most of those who slag off Lawrie come out with some incredible, outlandish statements on this forum when talking about Cortese, Adkins, the players. Much of it is based in ignorance and speculation and they contribute nothing to the club.....oh they might cheer when a player having a bad game gets taken off though........yet a man who was our most successful manager, a fact nobody can dispute, is treated like dirt from behind the safety of a keyboard. Pathetic.

Well said.
-
Oh FFS............sometimes I am embarassed at the level some of our so called supporters will go to. Obviously not there last night then ? I dont thinlk I recall any self promotion from Lawrie.

Thats very sad. Condolences to James and his family. I know some people have no time for him but Beatts obviously has a very big soft spot for Southampton. -

The whole thing was certainly filmed.....and i cant think of any other reason they were so twitchy about photos being taken. -
I assumed Weston was referring to the "olive branch" of a continuing role as some sort of ambassador or meet and greet on matchdays role similar to the one he carried out under Wilde. Whilst people continually slag Lawrie off and suggest he is money orientated its rather interesting that his dis-like for Lowe was the reason he turned the offer down when there was still the opportunity to be paid for his "job" !

SAINTS CELEBRATE 125 YEARS at the Mayflower Feb 13th 2011
beatlesaint replied to mel1961red's topic in The Saints
It was disallowed because David Armstrong was about 2 inches offside nowhere near the ball !! One of the most annoying and ridiculous decisions of many over the years. At least Armstrong made amends by scoring the winner :-) -

He didnt, he thanked Dave Merrington and Bally. -
He is always painfully slow with goal kicks. He arses about so much taking them its painful. Doesnt matter if we are 4 nil up or 4 nil down, sometimes kelvin is in his own little world with that ball at his feet.
