  1. yes I agree, although practically the queues would be such that it would be impossible to manage I would think.
  2. Oh right ok. Dont see why you cannot reserve your own seat online like you can for some games but at the moment considering other events surrounding the club its not important.
  3. Still cant book your own seat if you are a Season Ticket Holder online then. That means you have to phone up I assume and incurr the £3 booking fee !!
  4. Ok, thankyou, I havent seen any newspapers today although I read that even The Sun have put their spat to one side for a while.
  5. Doubtful.....its not the first time Coppell has left a club pretty quickly, just ask a Man City fan. Its all a bit too quick and I dont see why Markus's death would trigger Coppell coming here.
  6. Dont know, we really dont know much at all about this most private of men, yet we owe him so much. Its the daughter who has taken over the ownership of MALI as per their website so if there is a son then I wonder what he does ?
  7. Niether did I, but it reafirms my confidence that we will continue to be owned by the Liebherr family. You can be pretty sure that any daughter would want to see out her fathers wishes in such circumstances. As Markus was a hands off owner she would presumably carry on that role and let NC oversee the day to day running of the club. Her fathers wish was to see us back in the Premiership. I would think that is now her wish, for him.
  8. Yes I believe he did. I must admit a silly thing like him holding up the red card to help form the mosaic with the rest of the ground bought a tear to my eye. RIP Markus.....and thankyou...again.
  9. For a Christian, like Markus, his passing is an act of God as well.
  10. I will re-word it then - "questioning the postponment of the game" You get my point though surely, you are an itelligent man after all. BTW this is the sort of comment I am referring to, just in case you aren't as clever as I think you are ! - "Am I the only one who thinks postponing the game could be a bit of an over-reaction?"
  11. I cannot beieve that some people have come on here moaning about the postponment of the game. Hey - sometimes events and things happen that are about more than just you and your life. Its only a football match, it can be re-arranged. I'm sure Markus would be very sorry that his passing has put a few people out ! FFS
  12. Well "mush" I would rather have some humanity than be like you, pragmatic you call it i see, umm. Of course I, as everybody on here has, thought about what this means to the club but there is a time and a place for that. Not sure that a couple of hours after the announcement of his death is the time to do it. And what happens to the club is in the statement on the OS, so go and read it so you might be more aware of the implications to the club.
  13. You are correct - it doesn't sit well. Your ignorance and lack of taste and decency is quite alarming.
  14. Absolutely stunned, i just cannot believe it. What a truly remarkable man for saving our football club. As many have said the look on his face at Wembley said everything about his love for our club. RIP Markus, thankyou so very much for all you did for us. Now lets win this bloody league for one reason and one reason only - For Markus Liebherr.
  15. If you read the statement on the OS nothing happens now except we carry on as the plans that have been put in place. I would assume we are owned by Markus's family and they will continue to see out his vision for Southampton FC.
  16. To a degree absolutely nothing BUT lets just have a look at the facts here. Apart from The Echo how many or how often do you see match photos of Saints in a newspaper these days ? In League 1 all the nationals give each league game in the division about 8 lines. You may very occasionally see a match action photo but its by no means a regular occurence. So, looking at it like that tell me - why are newspapers going to pay to use an SFC sanctioned photo ? If we were Premiership it would be completely different. If we were Campionship it might be a minor annoyance to them. But we arent - we, or Cortese, are coming across as a bunch of big time Charlies in a league that the national press couldnt really give two hoots about. There isnt a great deal of demand for the newspapers to sell on their photos of League 1 Southampton or Brentford or Orient. So we now have the situation where nobody will buy the clubs official photos therefore SFC will not make a penny out of this arrangement and supporters who live away or cannot get to games will not get to read any sort of half decent match report, or any at all, in their morning national newspaper......and the benefit to Southampton FC is ?? Sweet F.A. If Cortese wanted to do this then he should really have waited until or if we reach the Premiership. And if his motivation is to make a bit more money then he has scored a spectacular own goal. Just back down on this one Nicola, for the sake of the goodname of SFC.
  17. Sums the whole thing up perfectly for me.
  18. Even if we didnt have a manager, which we have, and a good one at that, you cannot be serious surely ? On what planet would Martin O'Neil take another job in football that is 2 leagues below the one he has just left ?
  19. PR is not his strong point, a career in banking would mean he never had to worry about PR. This is a different ball game and goodwill and a good name goes a long way. Its our 125th year Mr Cortese, just have a read and see what people have said about Southampton FC for most of that time.
  20. Dont think he's big on that particular trait unfortunately.
  21. Agree 100% with all that. Those saying "oh sod the press" blah blah are so spectacularly missing the point its laughable.
  22. Thats not the point though is it ? The bottom line is if you **** off the press for no sound reason, and this isnt a sound reason by a long chalk, then they in turn will stir the brown stuff for you big time, will paint you in a negative light and will generally turn any positives for that club into a negative. Mr Cortese needs to remember what division we are in. If we were a Premiership big boy doing this it might just make a difference but we are a First Division club and the attitude of the press and public alike will probably be "who the hell do they think they are".......and they have a point.
  23. I was watching the same game as you I think. Cannot believe some of the comments about Dickson.
  24. Really dont see that at all, he was our best player in the first half. His crossing first half was superb. Now had you said Puncheon....started brightly but faded very badly I thought.
  25. I agree, very surprised at how little we have played pre-season and even more surprised at how, with the exception of Reading, we did not step up the level of opposition as we got closer to the season start.
