  1. Nope... Sorry.
  2. 29/10/66 - Leeds 0-1 Saints ?
  3. 5th Nov 1966 - Saints 3-2 Stoke ?
  4. Quite possibly, although to write off the league as a whole is a bit harsh. There are clearly some very good footballing sides in the EPL, but I would agree that the Spanish league (and others) is technically and tactically superior across ALL teams in the league... there aren't as many (any?) Stoke's or QPR's in La Liga.
  5. Love some of the comments under some of the vids too, like this one:
  6. I've just spent some of my lunch watching a few different videos... not just a highlights reel, but footage from individual games from last season, against Real Madrid, Sociedad and others (http://www.youtube.com/user/yirapa8/videos) There are clearly not going to be match-winning moments in all of them but you can see the quality he has, his tireless workrate, his skill on the ball, his vision and more in all of them. He looks an excellent players to me, no question.
  7. And there's the best bit. Pull up a chair folks, this one could get interesting.
  8. Norwich away... This may be of interest to some: http://www.premierleague.com/en-gb/news/news/2013-14/jun/how-the-fixture-list-is-compiled.html
  9. Is anyone old enough to remember? I'm certainly not... (and I can't find it on Google either, lol)
  10. He is basically just another Redknapp isn't he? Out-of-date, but thinks he knows it all, and quite happy to lash out at everyone else. Will make the coming weeks more interesting until we sign some more players and get into pre-season!
  11. Amen to that, and all other comments. Although you'd also think that the older members would be less influenced by the repetitive types as a result... It would be great to see a wider range of contributions, and less of the attempted point-scoring.
  12. First round it was an 8/1 shot, second round was 7/1, third was 6/1 etc, etc... so it was 8*7*6*5*4*3 = 20160/1 by my limited, tired-from-work brain.

    Does god exist?

As a natural extension of that, I find it a real shame that religion seems to be one of the few places in which that sense of community prevails. There is much to be said for these communities and the way they come together to help and support each other, something that is seriously lacking in many of our towns and cities. Hamilton's summary is excellent; my wife and I have good friends and neighbours who are members of a religious community, and whenever we've been invited by them to events, we've always felt very welcome and part of that 'caring, trustworthy community' without anyone ever questioning our 'faith' (which is firmly somewhere between atheis/agnostic). It's a shame that such community-focused behaviour and cultures, and the accompanying selfless attitude, does not prevail in more ways/areas of life.

  15. From: http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/documents/season-ticket-information-pack148-831075.pdf Doesn't mention students specifically.
  16. Top 4 cracker? Top half? Or a cracker of a relegation battle?
  17. As pointed out on Saintslist, this: is wrong... our very own George Reader was the first in 1950.

Was she also shouting 'Oh God' in the bedroom last night? Nice of you to let him stay over...

    Does god exist?

Bit weird to drag up a 2 year old thread like that...
  20. Interesting to read back over some of your own posts mentioning Cortese's ambition for the club and then, around 30th April I think, you mentioned about us being 'in the sh!t', hinting at an issue between owners and Cortese, and then later about new owners perhaps being what we needed? You are now on my (very short) list of people to take notice of.
  21. Taxi drivers know everything.
  22. I reckon girlfriends and others probably drop fake stuff into random conversations with others and see how far they can get it to go, just for a laugh. I'd be tempted to do it if I knew a player and someone asked me...
  23. It would be if you read this place every day. Far easier to skim read it every week or so, or even better, get someone who is rational, not prone to knee-jerk, and who has plenty of time to kill, to read the forum and distil the latest down to a 10 minute pub conversation each week.
  24. Contracts mean little these days, and despite my slightly mischievous initial reply, none of us have a clue what might or might happen. However given all the noises coming out this season, and the number of players who did sign new contracts, I think most players seem happy here and want to continue to grow with Saints. I would personally be surprised if Morgan left us. For more likely is indeed simply that he has found another house or area that he prefers. Such is life.
  25. 2 plus 2 certainly does equal 49. There could be something in this.
