Who could forget Marlon King coming to SMS with Brum, back in 2011. The Northam had an absolute field day with that one.
-
Given that we’ve got to replace Lavia, JWP, AMN and Diallo and so far we only have Downes, Charles and Smallbone, I’d still say we’re a man light. Stu can do a job in a shortage but I’d still prefer a fourth option.

The football equivalent of a psychic telling an audience, “I’m getting the name John.”

If ever a player and the Saudi league were a match made in heaven…

Petrol only, Diesel have to be 2016 or later.

Me neither. £2,000 on a Ulez compliant car sounds like a Top Gear challenge, where they all go out and buy a Daihatsu, a Lada and a Daewoo, all with 150k on the clock, and hilarity ensues. My first car was a second hand Daewoo Kalos and it cost more than double that.

The miserable, negative, downbeat Saints fan in me says classic banana skin. Trying to be pragmatic though, it’s hard to see us as anything other than big favourites for this one. I’ll say 3-1 and the clean sheet still eludes us.

Weren’t our best players from this season (so far) and last season both Man City kids?
-
Adrian Mutu scored twice on his Chelsea debut, these things do happen.

Pickford millimetres away from chinning Watkins there, Everton look awful. 😆

A separate thread for people who're definitely not interested in women's football to discuss it ad nauseum.

So your criticism of him today is that he might have conceded from a 1 on 1 with a player who was unmarked, but he didn’t? Have any other keepers ever conceded from a striker 1v1, through on goal? Buffon perhaps or Lev Yashin?
-
The only goal he conceded today was from a winger losing his man and putting in an uncontested cross, which was slammed in from 8 yards by another man who lost his marker. The fact that you would then update us all with that statistic just shows how much bullsh*t it (and that nonsense about being the worst ever keeper in the Premier League) really is for assessing a players performance.
-
Absolutely phenomenal today, telling Tella and Adams to shoot on target was ultimately what won us the game.
-
Agree, this is nothing we haven’t seen before from David McGoldrick and Andrei Pereplyotkin. Let’s not build him up too high.

I’ll be on the sherry from 8am. It’s got to be Christmas morning somewhere, right?

TBH I'm not in the least bit surprised, look at the squad we've still got, even after all the exits. GK: Bazunu, AMC, Lumley FB: KWP, Bree, Larios, Manning, Perraud CB: Stephens, Bednarek, Lyanco, ABK CM: Smallbone, Charles AM: Stu, Tella, Edozie, Alcaraz, Aribo, Djenepo, Sully ST: Adams, Armstrong, Paul, Mara That's 25 senior players already, 26 when you factor in Downes apparently being a done deal, not including the likes of Doyle, Ballard, SAA etc. We're still light one CM but basically I see the four in red as needing to go before we can even consider bringing more in.

It was never stated though. Some random bloke on twitter claimed it and everyone took it as true because he had apparently also broken the 'news' that Russel Martin was going to sign a former Russel Martin player, who was out of contract.
-
RM seems to have different info from a random bloke on Twitter, seems to think it’s not long term, he’ll miss this weekend and then take it one day at a time. So hard to know who to believe…
-
No. He didn’t perform well, he was just marginally less crap than all the others. We were in double figures for substandard attacking players we needed to shift, he was one of them.
-
Which is something we’re going to have to live with in order to remain financially stable and balance the books. We still need a net five attacking players out the door in order to have a reasonable sized squad, without bringing anyone in at all. All the talk of ‘clearing out the deadwood’ which seems to crop up when a team gets relegated is just that; talk. In reality these players will be no easier to shift than the likes of Boufal, Carrillo and Clasie were in the PL.

RIP Parky. I remember Peter Kay telling him about a German salesman singing Candle in the Wind, in an American karaoke bar once. Had me in absolute stitches.

If you’re being objective, you have to look at the level of football she has actually managed and she hasn’t put out nor come up against any team which would survive in the men’s football league. It may be a step down in terms of money and publicity but in terms of the standard of football being played it’s a big step up. Total conjecture. Like them or not, Jones and MoPe in particular have both achieved success at a far higher standard of football than Weigman.
-
A WSL team almost certainly wouldn’t beat an Isthmian League team, SW wouldn’t have to go and do a decent job there and then in L1/2 before anyone in the Championship would even consider appointing her. All these ‘culture war’ and ‘ gammon’ comments are a bit rich when people can’t seem to just watch and enjoy women’s football, without having a snipe at the men’s game and those who watch it.

36/7 now, we’re going to absolutely bukake our NRR in the table with this.
