  1. Hardly surprising, the US government actively encourages conspiracies about aliens and flying saucers, helps to deflect people’s attention away from the far more mundane reality of experimental planes and other reconnaissance craft.
  2. So the guy who got relegated last season would have been ideal, but the guy who came in and kept Leeds up after the great Bielsa had them shipping four goals a game would be an embarrassment? Marsch wouldn’t be an awe-inspiring appointment but he’d be realistic for a club in our position and a lot of the hate he gets just comes from people being anti-American as much as anything.
  3. It’s a football message board, where people have different opinions. There will obviously be people who disapprove of pretty much any manager, at every club. We’re bottom of the Premier League, we’re hardly going to be linked with managers who are universally acclaimed.
  4. Jones being the manager when we finally won at Goodison is a bit like Truss being the PM for the Queen’s funeral.
  5. I'm not sure what you mean by this. An old fashioned, chest thumping, shouty Welshman playing hopeless long ball is about as un-hipster as I can think of. The only thing I can really describe as 'hipster' in our recent history would be the SCW/Clifford experiment under Lowe.
  6. And so ends our winnable run of games.
  7. I know these topics tend to get emotive and irrational after another defeat but it really is hard to make a case for a manager worse than Jones. Redknapp and Wigley were both lumbered with a bloated squad of substandard bargains and aging, injured has-beens, especially in defence. Poortvliet was the other end of the spectrum with a thin squad stuffed with kids, but sometimes had us playing with some sort of style and had the odd decent result. MoPe and Hughes collectively kept us up, so that’s…. Something. Branfoot was before my time so I can’t really comment. Sourness wasn’t this bad and Wotte actually did alright for a while, when Saganowski came back from Aalborg and started scoring. Jones though… not one redeeming feature or mitigating factor. Ralph had this squad at least fighting relegation, without Lavia, Alcaraz, Paul, Sully or Orsic (I refuse to count Bednarek or Bree as additions to our squad).
  8. So we’re basically going all in on a Jack high. Bold move.
  9. Like badger blood.
  10. My dog’s got no nose.
  11. Really? Everything about this is so mind-numbingly obvious that I’m amazed anyone is anything other than bored.
  12. What an absolute wanker 😂 😂 😂
  13. Please somebody tell me that ABK is injured and that defence isn’t a choice.
  14. It’s got to the point that I really, genuinely don’t care about the relegation fight. When Leeds were 2-0 up last night, I honestly can’t say I was bothered, we’re so poor that it doesn’t matter. Possibly the worst part of it is we’ve just played all our easiest fixtures and lost all but one. Christ knows what will happen when Jones comes up against someone good.
  15. There's no such thing as a manager owning a squad in modern Premier League football and we haven't had a manager like that since George Burley. Sure, every manager gets his own pet right back but squads are built by directors of football with large scouting departments and transfer strategies. Your argument is a non-sequitur, nobody is blaming Jones for the squad he has assembled or our recruitment in general. What we are blaming him for is a complete ineptitude and inability to extract any sort of performance from the players we do have. More worryingly he also seems to be stubbornly refusing to accept he's cocked it up and instead spreads the blame around other people for not being able to play his way.
  16. I would like to believe this post is one of the most brilliant bits of self-aware irony in internet history, I really would.
  17. What do you want, some p*ssed up scumbags smashing the windows by the main entrance, or should we physical assault a few members of staff? I honestly don’t get why people post this crap as if it’s something to be embarrassed about. I’ll leave chasing players down the street to the Scousers, thanks.
  18. Crikey, I didn’t realise he was involved in all this.
  19. I wouldn’t read anything into that.
  20. We were competing just fine before Jones got here and that was without any of our January signings or (for the most part) Lavia. A competent manager can keep this squad up, it’s just a question of whether we get one.
  21. I’m not totally against that kind of thing in principle, I’d just prefer it not to be someone who’s only achievement is keeping plucky, little Luton in the Championship on a shoestring budget, but is completely out of his depth when he steps up to the dizzying heights of Stoke on Trent.
  22. That always happens with emerging clubs, we were similar in the Poch/Adkins seasons. Over the next couple of seasons, as contracts are up for renewal, agents will be demanding wages which match their players performances and threatening to leave if they don’t get them. The clubs will either have to cough up or risk losing out to those around them in the table.
  23. I believe you, pure and simple.
  24. As far as I’m concerned Jones can w*nk off an entire husky sled team and their Eskimo, so long as he keeps us up.
