  1. That was also Pahars’ last game for us I think. Where has the time gone?
  2. More likely it’ll be like that antique artwork that people think is priceless when they inherit it from their grandma, only to find out it’s just old tat nobody wants and there are warehouses full of it.
  3. Well it’s.... less horrific I guess.
  4. On the subject of LNATP, I wish we’d change our national anthem. Hate it on so many levels. Well, three I guess. The God bit, the Queen bit and the drab and dreary tune.
  5. I’d say any Intra-Balkan match would be pretty heated as would Russia vs. Poland or Ukraine. The Turks and Greeks are always colourful when they get together too.
  6. I’m not proud of myself. 😞
  7. The Mexican secret police?
  8. TBF each of them is worthy of a statue given their impact on City’s history and the honours they’ve achieved. If they’d contributed exactly the same but one played in the sixties, one in the eighties and one in the nineties, nobody would be batting an eyelid at them erecting a statue.
  9. In which case ‘context’ isn’t the right word, as it bares no relevance to what is being said and why but simply who is saying it. If anything it’s a form of privilege
  10. If it is indeed about context, could you give an example of an instance when it would be acceptable for a white person to use it?
  11. I think Adrian was referring to the Spurs game.
  12. Hypothetically, could a white person use the word in the same context?
  13. Nothing horrendous in there really. The toughest run, as you say, looks like November 21st - 2nd Jan when we have trips to Wolves and Arsenal with City, United and Liverpool at home.
  14. Another away game....
  15. I’d get a coronavirus test if I were you, your sense of taste is definitely impeded.
  16. I wouldn't be interested in him at any price. He's 30 in 3 months and has a scoring record to rival Shane Long. He dines out on having played for United and Arsenal, that's about it. I'm on board with the concept but feel you may be missing the mark. This is more on par with Police Academy 6: Mission to Moscow than Austin Powers.
  17. Yes, that’s kind of the idea. It’s like when film producers try to make a parody of bad movies and just end up making a bad movie.
  18. LeG was hinting that we’d be forced back into the transfer window for a CB because of a fitness issue. Assuming he is being sincere and accurate, Covid wouldn’t necessitate signing another replace in the way that say a ruptured ACL might.
  19. Boufal, if I remember rightly, passed a medical but missed the first couple of months injured. It can happen.
  20. I wonder if he might want to bring in a former player or two. They clearly need a decent central defender, I wonder if there are any out there who’ve played for him before and might want to link up again. Hopefully such a player, if there is one, doesn’t start throwing his toys out the pram, agitating for a move and underperforming on the pitch, as that would be most unprofessional.
  21. I’d guess that Salisu has turned up crocked from LeG’s hinting but let’s wait and see.
  22. He’s trying to wind people up. Trousers has a theory that Boxing Day isn’t on the 26th December.
  23. What you’d call it is not an argument to anything I’ve posted. I still stand by everything in my previous posts.
  24. I haven’t swerved it. It happens because people are teaching their children what they were lead to believe, which going by your two options is a religion, not merely the belief in a god. A belief in Hell isn’t some extremist, cultist idea belong to a few whackos in Mississippi, it’s fairly mainstream and not just in Christianity. Religious belief and teaching is what I take issue with, not those who simply believe in a god (or several). It’s perfectly possible to believe in a god but not religion, I used to think exactly that myself. I basically went from being an agnostic theist to an agnostic atheist. I don’t think I’ve ever denied that on this thread (if I did it’s through my own poor wording more than anything else) The people who still believe something similar I take no issue with as it’s generally harmless and there no religious teaching associated with it.
  25. Any religion which teaches children that they will go to Hell, or some variation thereof. It’s not intentional as it’s mostly just parents passing on what they’ve been raised to believe from their parents etc. However it is morally, IMO, appalling and it’s not just a cult/extremist problem, this is a mainline issue.
