  1. Thinking about it, Rickie probably wouldn’t be in my second choice either Forster Cédric - Fonte - Lovren - Shaw Cork - Romeu J Rod - Armstrong - Lallana Ings
  2. Boruc Clyne - Toby - Virgil - Bertrand Morgan - Victor Mane - Davis - Tadic Pelle
  3. There are planks who will go out despite suspecting they are infected, with or without a mask. It’s no different really. As long as the message gets through to the 95% - don’t go out, even with a mask, we can control the rate of infection. No plan is idiot proof. I don’t see how you can dispose of it in a way which is worse than breathing all over everyone within close proximity. You put it in a bin and wash your hands - most people should be able to get the message on that.
  4. I wouldn’t have thought they were that difficult to produce. If this is going to be a long term thing I’d have thought a few make shift factories could be put up in old warehouses, much like we did with the Nightingale Centre. Heck, even if some of the materials for optimal filtration are in limited supply literally anything will help. Even a sock, gaffer taped to your face, will trap some molecules and reduce the risk of transmission.

  6. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/52423767 Meetings to take place to discuss resuming sport 'within weeks'.
  7. I don't think there ever was one. I think if anything the government were playing up the doubt to try and stop people from panic buying supplies which are needed for healthcare workers. A mask can't not help. Anything which acts as a barrier for aerosols is going to provide some form of protection, even if it isn't 100% guaranteed. This is going to form part of the strategy for reopening businesses. Masks will probably end up being compulsory in some establishments, just as soon as we can secure a reliable supply of them.
  8. There’s a photo going around Twitter alleging to show him in a glass coffin. Heap of salt and all that...
  9. Here's his surgical team leaving the operating theater after the heart monitor went flat.
  10. Rules might be relaxed on social meetings, getting together in a park, beach etc. But I don’t think it’ll be in bars and restaurants. They will probably be last to reopen, along with music venues/gigs and public ally attended sporting events. It just can’t be done with social distancing.
  11. I think you will find most of those flights are almost empty and are only running for cargo and a few passengers for whom travel is essential. I'd have thought hairdressers and the like will reopen long before bars and restaurants, for a couple of reasons. Firstly a haircut is more important than having a few drinks and a slap up meal. Secondly, the latter actively encourages close social interaction, not to mention food preparation and one barmaid handling everyone's drink glass. A hairdresser you can sort of get away with, especially if they wear a mask.
  12. Oh I agree, there’re about a dozen countries out there which need a one child policy for a while but we need to do everything else we can. Long term we need both population control and reduced environmental impact, which means starting now.
  13. Almost sounds as if we should try and do something about it.
  14. It’s easy to slag off the no-hopers but what were the worst ‘surprisingly’ bad performances you remember. The rule is they have to be relative to average performances that season, so for example Le Tiss putting in a 20 minute cameo in his final season, when he wasn’t even close to fitness, wouldn’t count. I’ll set the ball rolling with Fabrice Fernandes at Highbury. I can’t remember another player ever being dragged off after 25 minutes, with Saints already 5-0 down. Whilst he wasn’t solely responsible, that was pretty bad.
  15. Can’t be bothered watching an hour and forty of whatever that is, can you summarise?
  16. All the democrats had to do was find any straight, white, married man aged 40-60, stick him in a suit and he'd beat Trump. Instead they go with Biden.
  17. Yes, the latter. The government ones are sadly necessary as some people are quite dense and still don't get it. Next it'll be Ann Summers giving away free nurse/police uniforms to all essential staff or 30 seconds of former XFactor nobodies clapping for our heroes.
  18. Or Sofiane Boufal.
  19. The TV adverts are becoming insufferable.
  20. 'Too late' is a relative term and in this context doesn't really mean anything. Peak deaths were always going to come about 3 weeks after peak infections and peak infection was always going to be the day before the lock down, whenever it was implemented. If we'd done it a day earlier, deaths would have been fewer; a day later and deaths would have been more. Anything else is fairly arbitrary.
  21. When I was at school the 'far right' was the BNP. Then, more recently, it was UKIP. Now it seems to be a democratically elected Conservative government.
  22. Was going to suggest Darren Powell because he was always injured and terrible but it turns out he was only 29 when we signed him.
  23. His 'far right watch' website seems to back that up - 'far right' being anyone right of Corbyn and 'watch' being any rumour or hearsay which fits his opinion.
  24. Yes, that’s exactly my point. You can have no information with which to make a decision and therefore neither believe nor disbelieve.
  25. Which contradicts his earlier post There is a third option, that you are agnostic and don't hold a belief either way. That was the point of the goldfish example, he clearly has no belief either way. I don’t believe that your sister won the lottery because there is strong evidence to the contrary, I.e. the mathematical odds against it. That’s different. There is no evidence supporting or contrary to there being a god, hence it is possible to be purely agnostic.
