  1. Be’er Sheva’s goal was a bit of a kicker, now that I think back to it.
  2. Basically what’s been said already; Zlatan, Norris and both injury time Everton equalisers. When Davies scored I thought it was all happening again. I’ll add Steven Davis of all people, scoring the winner for Villa against us in 2005. The Boro game I vaguely remember having to go to work on about 88 minutes. Obviously this was in the days before smart phones, I spent the entire shift assuming we’d just seen out a 2-0 and ‘Arry would have us safely mid-table by May. Overall though, the Everton one was the worst, mainly because it was the third time it had happened.
  3. Why? There are plenty of people with an hour or more drive home, early starts this morning, kids on a school night etc.
  4. One point from safety in December isn’t how I’d define ‘certain relegation’.
  5. When was this? We were poor but so were the three that eventually did go down. In the end we were comfortably clear of Cardiff, despite managing to somehow lose to them twice.
  6. We've only lost Lemina, Targett, Moi and Austin. I'd rather have Adams and Jenny than those two. Anyway, happy anniversary Ralph. I still think we're better off with him than with BFS or some other rent-a-coach.
  7. I've never bought into that argument personally. You pick the team you think will win the next game, not the one which has already won the last one. If Ralph thinks Boufal, Romeu or any other player would give us something we need against Newcastle then I'd back him to change the team. The only think I don't like is the defensive musical chairs we had earlier in the season but he seems relatively settled on that at the moment.
  8. I disagree, we have had plenty of appalling performances with him in the team. I'd agree he's looked good in the last two but they were at home to the two worst teams in the division. The last game he started was against Chelsea and whilst they were good, we just looked hopeless all over the park.
  9. Agree but with Adams for Long IMO. I thought the latter did alright tonight but still think Adams is the better player.
  10. The two are not mutually exclusive, although I did think he was decent tonight.
  11. We never make it easy for ourselves, that last ten minutes we just looked frozen and terrified. Kept asking myself ‘how the f**k is he unmarked there?!’ Anyway, we got there in the end so credit to them for that. I’m not sure bringing on Yoshida really helped, just seemed to invite pressure on us and take it off their terrible, terrible defence. We just lost that tempo from about 60 minutes onwards. I don’t know if it’s a mental thing or a fatigue thing.
  12. I don't remember a few seasons. Our first season he wasn't great but then again he was playing in the middle of Fox, Kelvin and Jos for large part of it. Once Boruc got fit and we had Lovren, Wanyama and Shaw he looked a decent player for a top half team. I don't think Stephens is better than any of the other options personally. Leicester aside I'd still say Yoshida is our best CB.
  13. Only if 'our level' is the Championship. Personally I'd say Lundekvam, Svensson and Fonte were what I'd like to be our level.
  14. Well, that ain’t getting moved for TV. Arsenal vs Leeds, the Merseyside Derby, Wolves vs Utd and a couple of minnows will get those slots.
  15. Home! We’re at f**king home!!
  16. Some people can have a week off, grow up a bit and stop with the constant, "I’m a better fan than you," posts.
  17. And H was the best member of Steps, that’s still not a compliment.
  18. My opinion of Boufal is that he has looked half decent coming off the bench this season but has rarely looked good when starting in his entire Saints career. Four Saints managers have given him a run in the team including Ralph, who gave him five starts in a row from Fulham to Spurs. None of them rated him enough to stay in the team and he was always dropped, plus he was in and out of Sevilla's team when he was on loan. Against Bournemouth and Spurs we looked clueless going forward. We got a penalty for a silly foul on Adams and a howler from Lloris. Apart from that we failed to score against one of the leakiest defences in the league and an under-performing Spurs with ten men. I'm not laying the blame at Boufal here but he hardly stood out above the rest in some very tepid Saints performances. I'll say it again, I'd start him Wednesday and give him ANOTHER run in the team but this talk of giving him a new contract, saying he's by far our best player, a phenomenal talent and, "I'd pay to watch him, like MLT," I just find bizarre.
  19. I think Everton have the quality in their squad to underperform and still end up mid table, so I’m not too bothered about them. Norwich and Villa not winning are the important games. All change in the last 3 minutes anyway.
  20. Firstly, Celtic wont be buying Moi and Forster even if they won the Ballon D'Or. They can't afford their wages, the best we can hope for is to loan them there again next season or if we do sell them, we will be giving them a big payout to cover the difference. Secondly, everybody is looking for the type of players you've listed. Experienced defenders, quick athletes, mobile defensive midfielders... We will have to outspend the rest of the league to get the kind of quality we need and right now we aren't capable of that. Nobody is looking for a midget CB, Midfielder with rusty knees and a one paced winger who smacks it into the car park. It's going to be tough for a few years, whatever league we're in (probably not this IMO). If anything, yesterday's result reminds me of when Wigley beat Pompey.
  21. Like Bournemouth and Spurs?
  22. He was slated because he had suffered endless fitness issues before we agreed to spend £20m on him and the problems carried on for large parts of last season. I think he has already matched last years league goal tally of 7, which is pretty poor for a striker. Glad he's fit and scoring now though. Without him we'd look like one of those Derby or Sunderland teams which went down a few years ago.
  23. He's right though. How many times before have we seen this from Boufal? Like that West Brom goal where he then got 5 starts in a row and did bugger all. FWIW I would also start him on Wednesday and give him another go, although this is mainly because our other options are generally poor. I wont be holding my breath however.
  24. Last minute of injury time and they have 4 players unmarked in our box.
  25. Because it seems nobody was capable of discussing it like an adult.
