  1. TBF that was mainly down to Levy’s trigger happy approach to managers and the fact that had he been midtable in November of his first season, he’d likely have had the chop. He could quite easily have become the next AVB, Jol or Ramos.
  2. That's a pretty rose tinted view on things. Puel wasn't treated terribly, he was sacked (with a meaty payoff no doubt) because the results and quality of football were generally poor. He took us from 3 points off 4th the previous year to 6 points above 17th. We went out of Europe and the FA Cup pathetically on top. Sims and McQueen had some good moments last season but I don't think Puel should take any more credit than Redknapp deserves for Walcott.
  3. I had similar thoughts when I saw that score so I went back and checked. 7 goals at home since beating Leicester 3-0 in January.
  4. Bolton's first goal in just shy of 13 hours apparently. I thought we had it bad. Not looking forward to playing City.
  5. Tiss already trolling Thomo on GSS saying Liverpool's title challenge is already over (he's pretty much right with their defence IMO). Be interesting to see how Liverpool play after their spanking by City.
  6. OP says he runs a successful business. You don’t need to be a millionaire to go skiing for a week, some places like Andorra and Bulgaria are pretty cheap.
  7. Perhaps the OP should give skiing or snowboarding a go. I don't suffer from depression but I certainly find a couple of trips to the Alps in late January and early March give me a boost in the post Xmas/NY period of the year.
  8. I'm 29 and whilst some things are worse, others get better. For example I used to go into a bar, see some hot girl all dressed up, think I was in love, then go home and have an angry w*nk when it became apparent she was interested. Now when I see people like that I generally think, 'yeah she's hot but I bet she's boring as f**k to talk to after about 20 minutes.' Regarding work, I recently quit a well paid career I simply wasn't happy with. A lot of people would stick it out but the fact of the matter is that no amount of money would make me enjoy that job. I stay in semi regular contact with about 3 people I knew at school. Facebook became a thing a few months after I graduated and I pretty much just added everyone I knew. I've since deleted half of them when I decided they were pretty much just a bunch of t*ssers and I never actually liked them anyway, I just wanted to appear more popular when I was at school. Some people on this forum are trolls, some are just plain stupid. I tend to ignore them and focus on the people who are quite clearly more informed than me on certain subjects. I particularly enjoy the well constructed arguments I strongly disagree with, as they offer an enlightening view on some subjects. Some people do annoy me with their hysterics, more in real life as I tend to ignore the divas on this forum. If you listen to some people, the world is in a worse shape that it has ever been. Is it really though? Away from the media, has Trump or Brexit actually done anything which directly hurts you? There will be effects no doubt but nothing which is going to put anyone on the streets. If you want to feel positive about the world, read science and technology journals. There's some truly incredible stuff going on out there. For the first time ever, cancer survival rates have eclipsed fatalities and that is far more likely to harm you than any American president or European bureaucrat. I'm starting to sound like that song, Sunscreen.
  9. That’s a separate thread, if you want to start it then go ahead. The fact of the matter is that homosexuality is illegal in almost all Muslim countries and punishable by death in some of them. It’s strongly at odds with the Qur’an and many British Muslims are no different to those in Muslim countries.
  10. Pretty much inevitable as the majority of people you meet in your life will be white, English people. It's like me saying that the 3 or 4 people I know who have been involved in traffic accidents are white English people. Therefore Muslims and Chinese are better drivers. Before making an accurate comparison you would have to live as an openly gay couple if somewhere like Pakistan or Saudi Arabia. Sally Jones just reinforces to me how thick and gullible some people must be. I'd be hard pushed to buy their sh*t if I was a conservative Muslim, so how an English Christian/atheist gets to believe it I've no idea. Just believed whatever her husband told her I guess.
  11. Tadic won that corner. Boufal played a fairly standard square ball to him but it was hardly defence splitting. It was Boufal who took the corner, which didn't beat the first man and he was fairly lucky to get it back. He then tried to cut a ball back to Long, which looped up off a defender, Long mis-controlled it and it fell kindly to Yoshi. Anyway, I was only responding to this statement... Which I find rather odd to make about a player yet to register an assist for us. Tadic and Redmond at least have some sort of mediocre track record, even if they have been tripe recently.
  12. The 2 differences being 1) Nobody is actually suggesting Redmond is our most creative player 2) That is one more goal than Boufal has managed to set up since he arrived here.
  13. Which of the goals he has set up have you been most impressed with?
  14. I don't think he's better than Gabbi, just that he could do a lot better than anyone is at the moment for us. Even Gabbi has only scored once in 7 months (4 if you knock out the off season).
  15. He wasn't perfect but he was a fair bit better than our current shower of sh*te are producing. If nothing else he brought the best out of Tadic and I think Gabbi playing just off him would have been worth watching.
  16. You seem to have fallen into the trap you accuse other fans of falling into. On the one hand you're suggesting Redmond will become more popular simply by not playing. On the other you're looking back on Puel and his awful, boring football with fondness.
  17. Long's best position is on the right. Way, way over on the right, up behind the dugouts in the directors box. He's a Championship striker, a more attractive Brett Ormerod. He doesn't put pressure on defenses, he just runs a lot. At this level I want a lot more from a striker than simply winning a few throw ins by chasing down fullbacks. If anything he relieves pressure by regularly giving away goal kicks and offsides. I often think playing Yoshida up front would lead to more goals.
  18. That's quite a statement to make about a player who's Saints career thus far has produced 1 League goal, 0 assists and 7 shots on target.
  19. I know this is sarcasm but it's bat sh*t mental the number of Americans who will believe exactly this. I know giving up their constitutional right to bear arms is never going to happen but surely any civilian would at least want restrictions on the types of weapon available. semi-auto pistols shot-guns - single shot, double barrel style. No semi-auto stuff Hunting rifles - Bolt action, single shot. That covers anything a civilian would ever need to deal with. Home defence, hunting, defence against wildlife etc. What's quite sad is that I don't actually feel sadness for this event. For the individuals and their families involved it must be heart breaking. As a nation though, when you're screaming at the rest of the world that it's your right to have a fully automatic assault rifle with a telescopic sight, how are we supposed to feel sorry for you.
  20. I never really got that definition of ambition either. I mean, Tomasz Kuszczak has a Premier League medal, as do Mateja Kezman and Costel Pantilimon. If anyone has made a DVD of their greatest hits, I've not seen it in HMV.
  21. Saints 0-5 Arsenal Saints 1-3 West Ham Saints 0-0 Bournemouth Saints 0-3 Man City Saints 0-0 Hull Saints 0-0 Swansea Saints 3-2 West Ham Saints 0-2 Watford Saints 0-1 Man Utd
  22. At home on a Saturday afternoon, we've only scored against West Ham in 2017.
  23. I agree, McCann never did anything half as good as De Ridder's goal at the Mad Stad.
  24. Lighthouse

    Koeman

Which is more than they got last season already, I think.
  25. I wouldn't go that far, we've had some sh*te over the years. Forepast James - Lancashire - Davenport - Bernard Thomson - Gobern - Liptak* - McCann Pekhart - Pericard *I think he was a central midfielder. F**k knows he was all over the place, it's hard to be certain.
