Lighthouse replied to sadoldgit's topic in The Lounge
TBF, that bloke in Finsbury Park did kill 743 people, that's more than double the number killed on 911. -

Liverpool were in a similar boat when they sold Suarez for silly money. Whilst their replacements looked decent on paper (apart from Balotelli) they fell a long way back as a team overall. Remains to be seen how Everton cope without RL. -
A moderately intelligent parrot could do your job mush.

This might be the most MLG thing ever posted by MLG.

As long as we back him up with some experienced signings, like Akinbiyi and Jon Stead, I think that could be a very astute appointment.
-
The penalty thing I think is to try and stop encroachment, not that I agree with it.

No but a plane has just flown over my house from the East, the same direction as Germany.

Seems someone at FIFA has been reading Saints web http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/40311889

I personally think a whole crowd of people all wearing the same colour adds to the atmosphere. Gives a sense of commonality, almost like a uniform. I know we'll never get close to the yellow wall but still...

Rebrov did a decent job at Kiev although I think it would be the end of Bertrand, Redmond, Virgil and Olomola. http://www.bold.dk/fodbold/nyheder/rebrov-kvitter-dynamo-og-soeger-mod-england/ Some Danish website reckons he's coming to England.

TBF so was Koeman and he left.
-
I very much doubt we've paid up his full contract. There will be numerous clauses in it stipulating what he can expect under various circumstances. To put it into context, that's more than Utd paid Moyes to terminate a contract with 5 years remaining. Chelsea paid Mourinho £8m when he had 3.5 years left.

You've been on here 10 years and still haven't figured out the basic psyche of a troll? In short, they will post whatever they need to in order to derive a reaction from other people. It doesn't need to have any bearing on reality, so long as other people are talking about them. Thanks for obliging BTW. Back to what I was going to post, decent signing for Everton that. They're certainly splashing a bit of cash early on, although when you consider who Klassen is probably replacing the pressure will likely be on him from the start. -
He isn't. (A shirt over hoodie wearer, he is a grown man)
-
Agree, he's doing alright at Burnley but they seem heavily reliant on being tough to beat at TM. They were abysmal on the road, imagine being so bad you concede more than 1 at St Mary's.
-
You want a 30 year old who left Arsenal for more cash at City? I can't think of a player I'd want less in our squad.
-
Instant? I think if I'd underperformed for a year in my job, I'd be invited to leave too.
-
Hojbjerg Fonte was a f*ck up but Stephens stepped up and we covered our arses sufficiently with Caceres in the end. Yes Also Redmond replaced Juanmi.
-
How can you say he wasn't backed in the transfer market? Gabbi, Boufal and Hojbjerg were all talented players he has failed to manage correctly.
-
I'd rather have 2 years of Poch/Koeman and lose him to Arsenal or Utd, than have another year of Puel.
-
You would hope it's because they waited until they were fairly sure a replacement was lined up. Last thing we want is a repeat of the Fonte fiasco, desperately offering Curbishley a 1 year deal a week before the season starts.
-
I will fondly remember the cup run but the way he set out, especially at home, was inexcusable. When you're winning a corner at home to Hull or Bournemouth and end up passing it back to your own 'keeper it makes for some pretty boring viewing.
-
Two trains of thought on this. 1 - I think he's got more to offer than Long and in a better team he could yet do it again. I rarely thought he looked bad last year, just lacking in confidence and decent service. 2 - It's obviously not going for him here and hasn't been for a few years. Maybe he needs a fresh start, like Kevin Davies had at Bolton.
-
Little difference to this place, if we're honest.
-
Would rather have the easy finish TBH. At least our start is about as winnable as you could hope for. Glad Udders away isn't in winter, proper grim oop North game we'd be guaranteed to lose.
