  1. One North Korea described his country as having a 'bright' future. Well that's one way of putting it.
  2. Knowing Baj as I do, I think it's more likely to be monk based.
  3. He looked alright in a team which was at best 'cautious' last season. I haven't seen enough to be convinced by him and I especially wouldn't want a CB pairing with 17 senior apps between them.
  4. I'm not entirely sure 9-3 is an actual person. Think it may just be a piece of malware the admins can't get rid of.
  5. Supposedly they were after him for £25m. If only.... would have been hilarious.
  6. Worked out fine with Toby as far as I'm concerned.
  7. Assuming that is true, it's an obvious choice for Roberts. Celtic have the rich heritage, the massive fan base, the big stadium, the passionate noisy atmosphere and a chance to win a domestic title. All we've got to offer him is Premier League money, so I think we all know which he will choose.
  8. They needed to make those signings though, they had one of the worst defences in the League. They already had Ake in the first half of last season and Begovic isn't much of an upgrade on Boruc, the latter is just getting old. They don't have Yoshida, Bertrand, Virgil (sic), Cedric, Stephens and Forster. We're still far better in that department.
  9. They had a freak combination of factors all falling into place for them. If I was putting money on it, they wont make the top 6 again for another 10 years. His team talk will largely along the line of we can win this game, which we can. What we can't do is compete with clubs like Man Utd, spending £170m on 2 players over a full year.
  10. His is a decent crosser and can link up well with Cedric on the overlap. If there's anywhere I think he fits, it's AMR and definitely not DM as some seem to be suggesting. Incidentally why is Boufal in so many people's starting line up? I've seen little of him other than being a show pony with a crap attitude. A couple of screamers against dogsh*t opposition isn't enough to warrant a starting place.
  11. Iain McDonnel-O'Brien, he's our new Irish wide man. Very much the 'chalk on his boots' Marc Overmars type.
  12. Don't like it, there's nobody in there to create chances. I'd have at least one of Tadic and Redmond on the pitch, probably both from our current options. From Gabbi's goals so far, I'd say he's most effective playing off the last man. His runs and movement are excellent. - - - - OR - - - PEH - - - - JWP - - - - - DT - - - - - NR - - - - - - - MG - - - - - - - IMO
  13. They can have him. He had 3 full seasons with United and scored 13, 10 and 10 League goals. Austin and Gabbi are both capable of that.
  14. They've bought, that doesn't mean they've strengthened. Look at Leciester, haven't they now sold all the players they splashed out on last summer? I would like a couple more in but it's still only July, there's another 3 weeks before any points are handed out.
  15. Not really. We've lost a massively inconsistent, 3rd/4th choice striker, who was basically surplus to requirements anyway. Basically, compared to the start of last year we are plus Stevens, Gabbi and Gallagher and minus Fonte and J Rod. All that without any European football to worry about. Really? I can think of about 3 or 4 I don't want in the squad. The rest all have a role to play. If I was a betting man, I'd say Defoe wont reach 15 goals in either of the next 2 seasons and that Gabbi will outscore him across the same period. Talent isn't transfer through osmosis. What magic effect will he have on their other strikers, that Gabbi and Austin wont have on Gallagher?
  16. His shirt annoys me more than anything, having his bloody nickname printed on the back.
  17. The day Bournemouth start signing players as good as Mane and Van Dijk, then holding on to them when Liverpool are interested, is the day I'll start believing that.
  18. Why on Earth would we let our prized asset, on a 5 year contract, go for half the asking price? We're under no pressure at all to sell him, this summer or next. That's beyond silly. He can go to whichever club meets our extortionate asking price. As little as I like Liverpool and their deluded fans, the big clubs are fundamentally all the same. It's just Liverpool keep coming back to this particular watering hole. I'd take the money from whoever offers it and move on.
  19. What are you suggesting? We should have kept Puel, we should try and sign Kante, what is it they're doing we should be trying to replicate?
  20. That wasn't Cortese's ambition either, it was just a soundbite.
  21. Like that's got anything to do with it. Players don't give the tiniest sh*t about the Europa League, it's all about money and the Champions League. Even if we did stump up £45m for a 28 year old (which Saints are blatantly not going to do) he'd only come here if we offered him a huge pay rise, Europa League or otherwise.
  22. About 6 posters apparently.
  23. Gabbi is J Rods replacement Boufal was Manés I really hope Stephens isn't Fonte's replacement but he probably is. Defoe is too old Smalling and Delph are crap and expensive Hojbjerg is probably expected to step up this year, much like Romeu did last.
