  1. According to Soccerbase he scored 11 goals a season for the first couple of years at Brighton and hasn't played this year at all, due to injury.
  2. That's not really the point Steve to be honest with you. If I owned a shop, I wouldn't put the prices up by £5 and justify it by saying there's free parking outside. £42 to watch 90 minutes of football is a rip off however you try and dress it up. Besides which, not all of us live in Southampton and it would cost me at least £50 to get to West Ham on the train. I know people will go if they are "desperate," but it shouldn't be like that. Away games should be accessible to anyone, not just the hard core who are willing to pay whatever clubs demand to watch a game.
  3. Brighton are so much more prepared than us for the Championship, they've just signed Craig Michail-Smith!
  4. Can't think of any reason to change tonight's team. Wanyama and Lambert are obvious candidates but Gallagher and Cork deserve to stay in the team. Hopefully Fulham are as dreadful as they were at St Mary's earlier in the season. Probably our easiest win since we returned to the Premier League, they just looked hopeless. Didn't even look like they were trying half the time.
  5. What a great game of football that was to watch. Even taking my Saints hat off for a minute, that was 2 teams who play the beautiful game in the right way and there was some excellent stuff from both sides. A draw probably a fair result but I think with a top notch striker we'd have been out of sight at half time. Again. We're making a habit of battering teams 2-2 at the moment. I thought Gallagher was excellent and really gave two decent CBs something to worry about. He missed a couple of chances, notably one at the end of the first half where he wasn't expecting the cross to rebound in front of him and it spooned agonisingly wide of the post. His all round game was very promising though I thought. We have another excellent player on our hands. Great to see Fonte scoring after the week he has had. Genuinely thrilled for him. MOTM for me was Morgan. An absolutely monster today, he was everywhere. If I was David Moyes, I'd be asking the board for another £37m for this guy. I genuinely believe he is top class. Shaw was also exceptional tonight. Only poor performance really was JRod I thought. Had a good assist for Lallana but didn't really effect the game enough otherwise. I loved that equaliser so much. The Arsenal fans were getting all cocky, having been hopeless first half (did Boruc get his first touch of the ball with that corner on 44 minutes?) they suddenly found themselves ahead and then boom! Right back at ya!
  6. He is a decent enough League 1 defender, certainly better than playing none-league football with the Skates next season. Good luck to him.
  7. I'm not. I just think it's a shame people are getting priced out of going to Saints games.
  8. I was planning to go to Val D'Isere/Tignes the same week but now I've got a job interview and can't go. Shame but I've already done 2 weeks in Meribel/Val Thorens/La Plagne this season so can't complain.
  9. Bears little relevance to this game really, West Ham is not a Cat A game and £40 is a rip off.
  10. If all goes roughly according to form I think the quarters will feature City, Arsenal, Fulham, Everton, Cardiff, Hull and Wednesday. If we can get past Sunderland I'd fancy us against 4 of those 7. Probably Everton too at home. If City draw Arsenal, there's a cup final up for grabs.
  11. With the big boys drawing each other we've got a decent chance now. Christ knows we owe Sunderland one.
  12. So are Man City but we still took a point off them this season at St Mary's. I'd have them down as the best team in the league, even if their away form has been sketchy. A result of some kind is definitely on the cards, Arsenal might be better but so are we.
  13. Target man or not, JRod has looked like a snake at an arse kicking contest whenever he's been asked to lead the line. It's got to be Lambert up front and if he isn't available then Osv.... Shar... Barn... Mayu.... Gallagher?
  14. Boruc Chambers - Fonte - Yoshi - Shaw Cork - Morgan JRod - Davis - Lallana Lambert As highly as I rate Clyne, I'd be tempted to start with the more defence minded Chambers first and bring Clyne on to run at them with half an hour left. I was also tempted to give Gallagher a start up front but I think Arsenal might just be too big a step up for the moment.
  15. I think most people call them w**kers.
  16. I'd love it if literally no Saints fans went to this, just to make a point as to how ridiculous those ticket prices are. The working man's game my arse, that's a day's wages for someone on minimum wage. Sadly, hundreds of people will just continue to moan and yet still cough up.
  17. Beating Brighton is always a good laugh so I'd take them at home. Other than that, the easiest team definitely through is probably Charlton or Wednesday.
  18. Boruc had a back injury, think he is expected back in training tomorrow. Wanyama is probably available if needed but there was no sense in risking him today if it wasn't necessary. I'm not sure Fonte was injured as such, just rested to give the other two a run out. I don't think Lovren was ever going to be played today, injured or otherwise.
  19. I think you're overestimating what was a bit part League 1 player.
  20. This guy is a complete idiot who posts, "can't see anything but a defeat," in every pre-match thread. I'm guessing he is about 8 years old. Back to the match, sounds like we got the job done; got the early goal and kept them out. Please for Gallagher too.
  21. Morcambe!!!! I mean... Guly!!!
  22. It's no secret that Chelsea want him and United too probably. I was just pointing out that shortening odds don't mean something is more likely, they are just reacting to betting patterns. For example I am probably about 20,000/1 to get Jenifer Lawrence into bed. If a load of people started putting big money on it, the odds would probably come down to 1,000/1 but it doesn't mean it's any more likely. Also it's against Premier League rules to sell a player and loan him back immediately.
  23. Odds react to betting patterns. Since Cortese left there has probably been a lot of money placed on Shaw to leave, hence the odds have shortened.
  24. Balram Chainrai and Neil Tennant
  25. I sent my kids off to this bloke, said he would take care of them in his 'Temple of Doom', whatever that is
